You’re right and just look at Lucia. He won back to back natty’s within his first couple years as Gophers coach and then how the sentiment changed as years went by and how much Gophers fans wanted a change.
-
Fair point. i brought it up because I experienced it when the Gophers were able to poach Don Lucia from CC. I get it-CC’s a much smaller school and program than Western but they had an incredible run in the mid to late 90’s winning 4 McNaughton cups in a row and back to back FF appearances and I’m sure that was a very attractive draw for the gophers similar to the recent success of the Broncos. I’m sure the Gophs will go poaching if/when Motzko leaves. Just a matter of who they’ll go after. Perhaps Raboine?

Would it be possible that the Gophers go after David Carle? Would he even be interested if courted? Edit: or Pat Ferschweiller? He’s from Rochester, MN.

I read on the internet that Brad Schlossman is petitioning the league to move this series back to Oxford so he can have his Skyline Chili.
-
Seems like every RedHawks game I look at the box score, I see David Deputy’s name.

Anyone have any insight as to how Wisconsin landed Cole Caufield? Anyone know what other schools he was considering? They had that season a few years back where he seemed to carry the load and got them into the tournament.
-
I regularly listen to Ciskie’s radio shows when he’s talking college hockey and he comes across agreeable and knowledgeable. He had a nice informative interview with Brad Schlossman last week.
-
He changes teams more often than @Goonchanges his socks. (So I’ve been told)

There’s a shocker-Cleveland was the one who rode Reschny into the wall.
-
So darn proud of the boys for getting the job done. Hoping Zmolek and Reschny will be alright. Hoping CC can help us in some sort of way, a win, heck even a tie.

Big time cup check there by Harris.

Agreed. Sucks to lose like that but sucks for Duluth in a sense too as I heard we didn’t play all that well and they blew a regulation win and we managed to get a point out of it. And correct me if I’m wrong but that doesn’t count as a full loss in OT, right?
-
That was really bad. Up there was the kid at Mercyhurst who tossed the lady’s wheelchair down the stairs at a bar. Dishonorable mention.
-
Could/Would PSU or one of their rich donors pay off the victim to just quietly make this all go away and not press charges or is the genie already out of the bottle?
-
Also, it wasn’t “their” arena, it was a regional game in Loveland Colorado, not Duluth Minnesota.
-
Simply attending a regional and having a beer out in the concourse. And he was standing next to me. I don’t find it odd behavior and certainly no rule a fan can’t wear their teams jerseys and stuff.
-
If the College Hockey News app is to be believed, BU stayed put at 24 as did Northeastern at 27.
-
Your enemy's enemy is your friend.

I could only listen to the Northeastern radio broadcast and the commentators inferred NU wasn’t aggressive enough on that albeit short power play. Given BU’s youthful but skilled talent, if I‘m the Huskies coach, I’m telling my power play unit to be aggressive out there and try to end it in overtime.
-
So the game goes down as a tie for NPI purposes correct? Did either BU or NU have any movement whatsoever?
-
Agreed. What a crap way to decide these Beanpot games as we’ve seen some amazing overtime games over the years.
-
2-2 now.

Out in the concourse, I had struck up what seemed like a friendly conversation with a Duluth fan at intermission of the Denver/Duluth regional final in Loveland 3-4 years ago….until he went on and on about how he hates Wisconsin and the Gophers but he hates North Dakota and their fans even more (I was wearing a North Dakota hoodie). I turned as he was in mid-sentence and walked away. No self-awareness by this D bag. Out of petty spite, I enjoyed seeing Denver win that game. It’s a good thing I’m no longer bitter about it! 🤣
-
I’ll do my best to cheer CC on to victory over Denver but full disclosure, my track record as a Tiger season ticket holder isn’t very good.

And of course the classic post game interview I’ve spoken about recently where Frank Serratore got tossed from a game up at Magness for sarcastically clapping after about the fifth consecutive power play being awarded to Denver. Oh yah, and the series in 2012 at Magness between Cornell and Denver where an irate Mike Schafer went on a post game rant about how atrocious the WCHA officials were in tilting the scales in Denver’s favor with how they officiated the games. (One could argue however, that teams from the west suffer the same fate when having ECAC officials as well).
