Kinda like the Red Pepper. Many of us locals love it but people not raised here are sometimes like, what’s the big deal???

I thought it was alright, my wife wasn’t a fan. Basically, it was wet soggy spaghetti noodles covered in canned chili.

My wife and I really enjoyed Miami. Nice little arena, cool little college town. We went to the much hyped Skyline Chili and let’s just say we don’t ever need to go there again on future road trips to Oxford.

I always worry about officiating whenever UND plays out east. That could potentially be a factor…home cookin’ if you know what I mean.

After getting drubbed at home 11-2 they come back and win like this. Crazy.

My apologies if this has already been discussed but man, that stadium sure looked empty. I wonder what the other side looked like, hopefully a bit fuller.

What’s going on with ASU?

Had to leave the game early. Anyone know what radio channel the game is on?

I’m sure Frank Serratore would be the first to acknowledge that Air Force isn’t loaded with high end blue chippers but my God, losing 11-2 at home? That’s downright unacceptable and embarrassing, especially with how they were able to hang with Denver just a week earlier.

Wasn’t it Frank who was recently asked why he had 5 goalies on his roster and he responded that he’d have 6 if there wasn’t a roster limit?

That Lindenwood forward with the game winning goal absolutely broke the ankles of the DU defenseman! Wow! Edit: Excuse me, the go-ahead goal late. Turns out their 4th goal ended up being the game winner.

As a little kid, these players looked like men to me. Their long hair and mustaches. When I walk around the concourse to this day and look at the pictures of the All-Americans from the late 70’s and early 80’s for about the thousandth time, they still look like men to me. Hero’s is what they were as a kid growing up, watching them play. Epitome of Fighting Sioux hockey. This is an old picture of me at my very first UND hockey camp with Kevin Maxwell as our coach. Remember it like it was yesterday. My hero’s back then. This series is huge. All of UND nation will be paying attention. Do us proud, fellas and let’s go kick some rodent butt this weekend.

I love it there because of how loud and how many UND fans are there. Would love it more if/when UND could sweep there!

I remember when some years, Denver would schedule UND during breaks. I think they did that so they could sell the student section tickets. I prefer going to those games when the students can attend. They make the atmosphere that much better at Magness.

Wasn’t another saying, “Kermit’s luck will guide our puck!”???

Listening to Cornell coach Mike Schafer at Sioux boosters several years ago (circa, 2011???) he made some rather pointed comments directed at programs he left nameless that always wanted his team to travel to their barn but wouldn’t return the favor. My immediate thought was that he was referring to programs like Michigan. Conversely, Coach Schafer was very complimentary of programs like UND (and you can throw in virtually every other NCHC program in the mix too) that were and are always willing to reciprocate and travel. I respect CC and DU for the same reasons as UND-they’re willing to travel far distances to face anyone.

CC, AF, and Denver do this thing where an eastern school comes out and they rotate who plays who Friday and Saturday night. This year, Bentley played at CC Friday and then at DU Saturday. DU played at AF Friday, and then CC played at AF Saturday. I prefer it when CC and AF only play one game against one another rather than a 2-game series. Not a ton to be gained and plus, I’d rather see that extra game against an opponent Tigers fans don’t normally get to see very often. (Plus, it makes more on the line for the local Pike’s Peak Trophy between CC and AF when it’s decided by just one game). I wonder if UND, Duluth, and Bemidji could make a similar arrangement with a central or eastern school?

Nevermind. The fellas on GPL did acknowledge that this game between Minn and BC on Saturday went down as an official tie. He said the fellas celebrated because of how long it had been since they’d won an OT shootout.

Is it really a shootout win in the record books? I thought it would go down as a tie, no?

Thinking back on that overtime winner, had the one Gopher D man not bit and committed in the neutral zone, maybe Q doesn’t score on that sick two on one. Man, if that were a designed set play, kudos to Coach Pecknold and staff for drawing that up! He deserves a ten year extension simply for that one play, IMO.

CC’s captain and quarterback of their top power play unit, Max Burkholder, seen wearing a boot at the game last night at Air Force. He left the game Friday midway through against Bentley and didn’t return.

And with any luck, my last place beer league team can get win number 2 tonight to cap off a great weekend of sports.

Wow. What a weekend. Solid conference win for UND football and a sweep for the hockey team.

No post game interview with Jackson on the radio broadcast? Did I miss it?

Not sure but I just googled when AF’s Cadet Ice Arena was opened and it’s gotta be up there at 1968.
