  1. From a recruiting and media standpoint, I'd rather have the FBS win against a lesser team. Gameplay wise, I'd rather play the stronger opponent.
  2. Hard to read much into the PSU/Oregon St game, there's all likelihood that Oregon St is plain awful this year and likely will be the doormat of the PAC. Week one they got thumped by Colorado St.
  3. I believe Coach Pryor had a similar comment after last night.
  4. Hopefully this game is a learning experience for the team and they come back much stronger. The offensive line needs work.
  5. Did anyone else lose Pac 12 feed?
  6. I swear these announcers are about ready to soil themselves talking about this Utah QB.
  7. This offense is a joke. Let's just get out of this game without injuries and with a paycheck.
  8. If the offense doesn't answer with at least a field goal this game is over. Both lines are getting worked right now.
  9. Really weak late hit there.
  10. I understand the strength of the Utah defense is up front but UND's o-line is really showing nothing right now.
  11. Problem was the Utah player left his feet.
  12. To be fair on that last play, Fiedler came open when the safety saw the pass go the other way. If Studs hits him early, it's possibly a TD but Studs didn't really have much time to go through any progression.
  13. Offensive line is going to have to figure something out. They are getting kicked around.
  14. Offense needs to start opening things up, defense won't be able to hold this offense on too many drives I don't think.
  15. How the hell did they miss that hold on the td pass? holy crap, tanks jersey was half off!
  16. d-line needs to settle down

    2017 Season

The line will have more experience, will be returning Cox from injury which should help, and have much more depth coming behind to push them and help to keep injuries from hurting us too badly. Everyone will have another year of strength training as well. We should, should, have a better line than last year even with losing Coe. If they can get back to the the 2015 level or above, this offense will be fun to watch. If they are like a repeat of last year than we'll be seeing a number of close games like last year.

    2017 Season

Been watching some games from last year and two years ago and two things stuck out to me. First, man would it have been nice to have Clive Georges for all of last year. He was such a playmaker and deep ball threat that it could have certainly helped the offense. Second, the offensive line needs to look back two years ago and look at the kind of holes they were able to open and the result (all of those long runs by Santiago and Oliviera). The big play last year was sadly lacking and not due to anything changing with the running backs but the fact that the line failed to open the lanes to the second and third level.
  19. Maybe he got free cream cheese for a bagel.
  20. Seems awfully early for that

    2017 Season

At this point I'd rather it be just one way or the other. Obviously would prefer him to be on campus and playing ball but if the waffling keeps going on I'd rather him stay at home. At some point it becomes a distraction and one person becomes bigger than the team with all the attention on is he/isn't he. Let me repeat, I'd love to see him continue playing football at UND. I could see him performing at a high level and getting a look at the NFL, he has that kind of talent. But he has to commit once and for all.

    2017 Season

I'm hoping with a year under their belt, Grady back, and a bit more competition the o-line will be ready at the start of the season. That should help some of Studsrud's happy feet and hopefully he'll be more settled. Not only was he not getting time, but he was missing the very easy flat and hitch routes that were wide open and on quick drops. He was painful to watch early on. Then again, have the four headed monster at running back really should take some pressure off.

    2017 Season

As for the times that UND was dominant and the reason for it all you have to do is look at play-calling an execution. Studsrud was something awful to start the season and honestly had you looked at them then, you wouldn't think a top 25 team at all. By the end of the season, Studsrud had found his game again and the passing attack was clicking (look at the emergence of Mercer). That started opening the running attack, particularly when Oliviera was in and able to punish the defense. The first half against Richmond was a clear textbook case of what the team looked like clicking. Studsrud was completing the passes he was supposed to (not only the quick/short passes, but vertical routes), the running game was punishing the defense and extending drives, and the defense was being aggressive and pressuring the opposing offense into mistakes and negative plays. You then flip to the second half. The playcalling got incredibly predictable. Run, run, pass (sometimes even extra run) as they went ultra-conservative trying to milk the lead. Then the roughing the punter, defense couldn't catch it's breath and just turned into a losing cycle. It all came down to execution and playcalling. The playcalling failed horribly (super conservative then double reverse), and the defense had little to no time to adjust or rest. Massive choke.
  24. That's the kinda guy you'd just like to punch in the face.

    2017 Season

Pretty sure he was nowhere close to 75% for a chunk of last season with injuries. He played through a lot but couldn't finish. Prior to that i thought he was solid (minus the occasional bonehead penalty).
