Not likely to happen and assuming the Tommies beat Denver, but if UND & NDSU both lose this Saturday they will match up in the 4-5 game at the SLT.

Really not that far fetched. That would be less than ideal!

  2. I’m disappointed but not discouraged with that outcome. We can play with them. Holding Kyle like we did was good to see. But then Zeke went off. We can still win the conference tournament. We could also lose game 1. This league is up for grabs for anyone.

  3. Don’t freak out! Nothing bad…. Yet. I just wanted to start this to share portal news that is or could be relevant to UND. I’m going to start it off with this kid from the MIAC. He’s getting some bigger interest right away so might be out of UND’s reach and also might not be exactly what we are looking for.

  4. UND bounced back from an ugly performance against UMKC to dominate on the road against ORU and Denver. Now it’s time to see if they can continue their conference best road record (I think, I didn’t actually fact check) against the team to the south, NDSU.

If it’s anything like the last matchup, it’s going to be an absolute grind. Gotta see if BJ can respond better to Demari Wheeler Thomas hounding him. If we get a better performance from BJ and Trey, I think we will be in business. If not, could be a long afternoon of doom and gloom. NDSU is no slouch and has been playing good ball, they will want this.

KenPom has UND losing 73-71, BartTorvik says 73-70 and Vegas doesn’t have a line yet.

If you can, I say get to Fargo. I personally can’t so will be watching this one on CBS Sports Network.

He also plays much better defense.  He gets to the rim which makes to tough match up for other teams.

He shows some flashes but his defense can kind of be like his offense sometimes and just be completely nonexistent. I’d take him over Moody any day of the week. Imagine if we got him until he’s 25 or however old Moody is!

You think he had some great division one players when he started? I can start with the kid from Montana.  Most of the players that left all went to division 2 schools. Kind of tells me not great division one recruits .

I’m not saying every kid was D1 worthy but it didn’t start with Trey. Tyree was certainly D1 worthy. Bruns was D1 worthy, as much as I hate him. I think Sims was D1 worthy, he just made some poor decisions. Nero was D1 worthy, but he fell off a cliff. Danielson is D1 worthy, even with as much flack as he gets. Norman was D1 worthy. T is D1 worthy. Brooks some would say is D1 worthy.

You can argue some of those (I know some will with Brady and I’m not trying to say he’s D1 starter or even regular mins but he can play D1 (low major) ball). My main point is this didn’t start with Trey. Sather has been able to get some talented kids here. Landing Trey may have been easy but it wasn’t just a complete shoe-in and Trey wasn’t the only determinant in getting BJ and Eli here. All the legacy and all that helped but some credit is due to Sather and co.

Like his recruitment was so great before and player retention was awesome... Do you only follow hockey?   I am saying by Treyson having his legacy and coming here he attracted better players that wanted to play with him.   I am not saying Sather is such a bad guy that players want to jump ship.  I am saying he was lucky to get Treyson and things fell into place.  Up until then he didnt show he knew how to recruit division one players and many players left the program.  I have still not seen that we are running plays.  Looks more like we have athletes that know how play and are good at one on one.  I really like the team we have now and next year I think it will be even better.  But if you give all credit now after 4 bad years to Sather I am not sold yet.

    Heh?

Ever since Randall got here, the teams played a lot better and recruiting has gotten better too

Not disagreeing but who were his big pulls so far? BJ was Horstman along with Trey, I believe. Tyree is Sather. Amar is Stevens.

  10. UND gets back in the W column with a victory at Denver. I didn’t get the chance to watch the full thing live but caught up watching the replay today and really don’t know how they managed to win and win by that much. Denver just couldn’t capitalize on all the turnovers to start the 2nd half. They are as overrated as I thought. On to ORU.

While success hasn’t necessarily translated in the win columns against Oral Bob, I do think Sather has generally performed better against them than expected in the past. And they are down this year. If UND continues to rebound like they have, they will dominate this game. But if they don’t, and let McBride, Thompson and Weaver do their thing, it might be a long game.

KenPom has UND losing this thing 76-73, BartTorvik agrees and Vegas has UND +2.

    Catch the game on SLN.

    I don't know. I'm not the Coach.

All I know is that I've heard from multiple players on that team that this is why he was forced out and transferred.

DAE, Moody and Ramsey I bet.

  12. UND’s win streak ended with a complete ass whooping to Kansas City. I don’t really have much of a write up for this game against Denver besides Tommy Bruner is the guy to watch.

Denver -3.5. Catch the game on SLN.
