Hope they fill it with a big that can play immediately but wouldn’t be shocked if they go the high school route with someone that fell between the cracks a bit.

Moni to ndsu. I’m sick
Really sucks. Not surprised at least going in you had to think of him going home. I just wonder if they were able to pay him even close to what Drake or Illinois State could offer.

I see four more wins. Which games do you see us winning if Danny was still here? Every school dealing with portal issues. Youngstown State just lost a key skills player to portal. Special teams wins us at least one if not two games. 8-4 (I want to be optimistic for the players).
I hope you’re right.

I’m feeling pretty pessimistic right now about next year. I’ve been a big Danny guy so that’s a big reason and then the o-line turnover + no faith in Joel and the D. Right now, this is my prediction
Iowa State - L
Montana - L
Idaho State - W
San Diego - W
Murray State - W
NDSU - L
UNI - L
Youngstown State - L
Indiana State - L
SDSU - L
USD - W (only because we never lose to them at home)
Illinois State - L
4-8…. like I said, I am feeling pretty pessimistic right now. Maybe by fall ball I will put the green colored glasses back on.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Talented kid though. Just going to be interesting how they distribute the minutes. Who gets more of the backup PG role between King and Panoam or do they kind of split it? Not either of their strong suits.
Might be wishful thinking on landing Moni but I’m thinking our lineup looks like this:
Thomas / Panoam / Kraft
Eaglestaff / King / Doppler
Woodson / Mara
Moni / Mayar / Bothun
Amar / Mathews / Erikson
On paper, I think this looks solid. How they gel, is another question but this seems like a Summit League contender.
I am also still holding out hope we get my guy Patrick Rowe to walk-on.
Well now unless we come out of nowhere with someone, which they very well could, thinking we could be looking at Woodson at the 4 like @GoodGoodmentioned and sliding Trey to the 3 and then either King or Panoam starting at the 2. I guess Mayar was starting at the 4 to start the year so maybe he has a good offseason and retakes that spot again.

From his clips on X I thought Woodson looked like a 4. I could be wrong though
Could be. I think as thinking I read somewhere that he was thinking he’d replace Omot’s role.

questionable fit- similar to king- but hopefully it works out

Think this is likely Mier Panoam. Seems like a real solid get. Super athletic.

Damn. Well we gotta hope we can land Moni. Sounds like he was at Drake yesterday and Illinois State earlier in the week. Not sure where we shift our focus after those two. Haven’t heard anything on the Mier Panoam front either lately.

I mean in other sports you’re seeing the NIL numbers being thrown out left and right. I think it’s a fair question. I get that it doesn’t need to be public but still.

I tried to find where I saw that before, I swear I saw it on Twitter from a reporter in the Twin Cities... couldn't find it so I definitely could be wrong.. however I'm pretty certain I saw that figure. There are other articles out now saying he's making more now in their new NIL collective.
Regardless.... If Andrew Morgan is making 200K and reportedly Skunberg is making 75K At Illinois St.... that is criminal... good for those guys but that's insane
If Illinois State can offer $75k to Skumberg, would think they’d offer a nice deal to Moni too. Can’t imagine we can compete with that.

Where'd he go? (I'm not on twitter, er, X)
Houston Christian University, formerly known as Houston Baptist University.

Wishing the best for Brooks. Thought he could have had a nice career here but was clear he was out of Sather’s plans by conference play this season.

To be fair no one has seen Hurlburt play for 2 years. If I had to guess he could’ve put up some decent numbers at Northern State
Exactly. I know recruiting/rankings aren’t a perfect science but Hurlburt had offers from basically the entire Big 10. I think there’s probably some talent there and like you said he would have probably done just fine/great at Northern State too. Comparing apples to oranges.

I think Moni will probably be a bigger day 1 impact. But I kind of lean towards more years of Hurlburt, although in todays collegiate athletics you can only worry about one year at a time.
