Interesting that Bruns was summit freshman of the year for us and doesn’t start for a worse USD team 2 years later??  He regress?

    Yes. He was benched recently.

Not a needed position for next year but someone I like is Tameron Ferguson from St Cloud Tech HS. 6’2” guard. Leads state of Minnesota with 35 ppg. Only offer is from MSUM but starting to hear from several D1s.

Just watched a single games highlight and I’m in.

If Joe Hurlburt actually does get into the portal I know if you're UND you probably have to take him, but I've never been super impressed with him.

I really haven’t watched much of him but know he was super hyped coming out. Gotta be better than Chad Calcaterra, if people remember him. Went to Colorado State, transferred here and that guy stunk! I remember hooping with him at choice one time and we toasted him and trust me, I’m not that good haha.

  4. So next year, we have 1 scholarship for sure with Brady and T leaving but I believe Bothun is taking one of those scholarships. The way the college basketball world is right now, I’d bet we have at least 3 scholarships open. Dream scenario is well first keep your core (BJ, Tyree, Trey, Amar and King), then go get a transfer big (Joe Hurlburt? Maybe someone more established though) and a 3 and D transfer, if we would have landed Jamar Brown last year, that would have been huge). After that, go after a high upside high school kid that would hopefully redshirt. Easy enough, right?

This is a game I expect us to win and honestly a game we should win pretty handedly.

USD is not very good. At all.

They have flashes. Need Amar to handle Lahat Thioune. I think we are the better team but winning on the road is never a given.

  6. UND is streaking again. Really that’s all this season has been. Last time out, they were able to put a pretty dominant effort out against St. Thomas, impressive given what happened in late December. Now we are on to South Dakota.

USD’s two conference wins are against two of the top teams in the Summit coming into the year. First, they had a pretty dominant road win against NDSU led by # 1 Kaleb Stewart putting up 33 and then they also beat St. Thomas in Verm. They also should have beat Denver, in Denver, but lost in 2OT and our old friend, Paul Bruns, was a big part of the L. Besides that, they’ve sucked. Lost every other game by 14+.

KenPom is predicting a 75-74 win for us. BartTorvik says 74-73 win. Vegas has UND -1.5. Catch the game on Summit League Network.

How many coaches have left? Still looking for an answer.

Interesting that numerous posters here advocating to hire young up-and-coming coaches who move on after a few years for greener pastures.

Pawlak -- by all accounts a young talent -- moves on from und after 5 years and the sky is falling.

Refer to my most recent post.

  8. I have no problem with coaches leaving to pursue better opportunities and more specifically in the FBS. Right now, we are seeing coaches taking the same or lesser jobs within the FCS and even our own conference. Do we not strive to be the best? Are we fine with being an average to slightly above average program? That’s certainly not what I want.

So bubba made that decision? What do we think of bubbas decision makings skills? It should be und connection. It should be experience and philosophy and energy

If all things are equal, you’re probably going to give the edge to your own. It’s the way it works in all industries.

Whoever wins the conference is going to enjoy the First Four Play-In Game that's for sure!

Hey not the worst thing in the world, if you win, I’m pretty sure that you get the same payout as winning a game in any other round. Think it’s something like $2million per win for the conference.

Haha word for word what my SDSU friends say

I’m pretty jealous of it though. I like the Betty but I want that bowl setting. They also actually have courtside seating. They used to do that occasionally at the Betty, iirc.

Haven't been to USD's new arena. Would like to. Even my SDSU friends say how nice it is.

I’ve been once. Pretty nice. Feel like they never have a good crowd though unless SDSU is there. Verm’s a dump.

They're playing with urgency, especially on defense; I think that that's the difference.  If they can pull off another W in Vermillion this Thursday, this will be the first time in at least three years that the 'SU game on Saturday  will really mean something.

Gotta not have a letdown game in Verm on Thursday. Think the squad has a lot to play for with the whole Bruns think but don’t want them looking ahead to Red Panda on Saturday.
