  1. Free wings tomorrow for missed free throws?!
  2. I have been a Brady backer and I love Brady and everything he shows out on the court but I am curious if Mara could do what he does too but with better defense maybe? I think there are some intangible things that stats or analytics don’t necessarily show that help Brady’s case but he just hasn’t had it as much this year and you can’t blame the kid, he has had a tough last year or so off the court.
  3. Another one! UND is rolling. The offense put on a show and the defense did its part too shutting down the Fighting Fidler’s of Omaha. Was not expecting that outcome but it was fun to watch. Now we turn to the team that started the streak, the Roos of Kansas City. KC is a team that looks pretty scary coming off the bus. Just full of big, strong, athletes. They play a tough, physical brand of basketball but it really hasn’t led to a ton of success. 4-6 in the conference after dropping an OT game to NDSU last night. Everyone praises their coach, Marvin Menzies, for being one of the best coaches in the conference. They are led by #5, Jamar Brown, someone I was really hoping Sather and co. would be able to land this offseason. He is averaging 14.6ppg and 6.0rpg. #30, Cameron Faas is one of the best shooters in the conference shooting 41.5% from 3, averaging 10.5ppg and 4.8apg. #1, Jayson Petty, has started playing more and playing well too averaging 13.5ppg since being put into the starting lineup. This is a team that UND should be able to beat but it would not shock me at all if they make it interesting. We will see how they come out after playing some extra minutes on Thursday. KenPom has UND winning 74-69, BartTorvik agrees and Vegas hasn’t released a line yet. Once again, I urge everyone to get to the Betty to watch this team. Those that can’t make it, can catch it on Summit League Network, as always.
  4. Hell yeah, great win. Nice to get the reserves some action. Love seeing Brooks getting some actual minutes too along with Mathews. I’m not going to crown us as the best team in the Summit right now since we just can’t seem to beat SDSU but man I don’t think a team in the Summit can beat us when we are playing our best.
  5. UND has now extended their win streak to 6 games after somehow pulling off a win against NDSU last Saturday. Felt like they were going to lose almost the entire game and then a funny thing happened, they won. Things are going well for Paul Sather and co. but another tough opponent enters the Betty, Frankie Fidler and Omaha. UND’s last loss was actually to Omaha in Omaha. Fidler put on a show…. At the free throw line. He was only 5-13 from the field but made 18 out of 20 attempts at the line. UND, as a team, went 15-23 from the line. Ended up losing 79-61. While #23 Fidler is the star (averaging 19.3ppg, 5.5rpg and 2.6apg) he isn’t the only one to watch out for. Forwards #10 Marquel Sutton (averaging 12.5ppg and 6.3rpg) and #21 Nick Davis (averaging 9.3ppg and 5.5rpg) are a couple others to watch out for amongst others. KenPom has UND winning 73-72, BartTorvik has UND 73-71 and Vegas has UND -4.5. Game is on Summit League Network but once again, please get to the Betty and cheer on this entertaining team!
  6. Wonder if UND would go after Brody Fox if he transfers? Parker Fox’s brother and currently playing a junior at UW-Stout. Think he’d only have one year of eligibility. He puts up a lot of points there but not sure really how good he is.
  7. So sounds like Trevor Olson is the new OL coach. Without knowing much, looks like a decent hire. Spent time with Minnesota as a grad assistant, SIU as a OL coach and then Winona as OL coach and run game coordinator.
  8. D1 kid? Maybe someone that could redshirt and develop?
  9. Despite being tied for 1st, UND currently sits at 8th according to BartTorvik and 7th according to KenPom. Obviously those don’t matter if the standings show otherwise but it shows we still have a lot of work to do.
  10. Anyone know much about him? Doesn’t look like he has any other offers. Could be a PWO type?
  11. Paul Bruns is feeling it again. Helping keep this one tight between USD-SDSU in Brookings.
  12. All this year.
  13. Wait, we aren’t the best defense in the Summit, are we? That would surprise me.
  14. Anyone see any recruits there yesterday? Would imagine yesterday would be a prime day for hosting but I also don’t really think the high school kids are who they are going after for 2024.
  15. Agreed. Feel like he is under-appreciated a bit due to being a P5 transfer and not being a scoring guy.
  16. This is all ridiculous. We just won. We have won 6 in a row. Let’s go win on Thursday too. Pack the freakin Betty!
  17. It’s a tiring argument and every time i just think the poster probably has never played ball. I also think Brady has struggled more this year than the previous years but, as you said, he provides so many winning intangibles.
  18. Argue brooks then and I won’t complain. Stop saying Mara. But I think Brady at least somewhat challenges the opponent on the 3 point line. I could guard Brooks from here and he wouldn’t make it beyond the arc.
  19. Mara should have redshirted. Get over it.
  20. Somehow we dropped from 251 to 258 after this game. I suppose because we only won by 2 and not 4+.
  21. Winning this game with BJ really not having his game and same with Trey is so damn impressive. Kudos to Sather and staff.
  22. I really don’t know how we won that. I love it but man I thought we were dead so many times.
  23. That’s one of the worst calls I’ve ever seen.
  24. UND has now won 5 games in a row, including 3 on the road. Impressive stuff. There really has been more of a buy-in on hounding my the glass, led by Amar but everyone seems to be attacking. Now we host the team to the south, the Bison. UND has not beat them since 1/16/2021, time to change that. The games between that win have never been close with an average margin of defeat of 18.5 points. NDSU has struggled this year but Dave Richman always gets his guys going in time for the Summit League tournament. Was last nights win over SDSU in Brookings the turning point? Not sure but UND has an opportunity to knock them back a peg again. NDSU is led by #14 Boden Skunberg averaging 15ppg, 5.5rpg and 2apg. Bison fans get extremely frustrated with him trying to play hero ball. The two players that concern me the most are #10 Damari Wheeler-Thomas, averaging 12.6ppg, 2.8apg and 2.6rpg, and #23 Andrew Morgan, averaging 11.5ppg. Need Amar and T to lockdown down low with Morgan and freshman #34 Noah Feddersen. KenPom has UND winning this one 76-72. BartTorvik says 75-72 and Vegas doesn’t have lines yet. If you can, please come to the game. Let’s create an awesome atmosphere for a team playing some great ball right now. Red Panda is performing at halftime too! For those that can’t make it, catch it on Summit League Network.
