  1. UND (KP 241) heads out west for the return game for Fullerton (KP 214) competing in the MTE last year. UND actually kind of had their way with them last year in somewhat of a surprise.

Well fast forward to this year and UND is riding a 6 game win streak while Fullerton has one D1 win over Southern Miss. Despite the records, KenPom predicts UND to fall in this one 73-68.

It appears that this is another team with a high scoring guard, Max Jones. He’s averaging 18.5 points, 3.8 boards and 2.8 assists. I’d also keep an eye on Donovan Oday. Looks like he’s coming off the bench but average 10.6 points. I’m mostly interested in him because I was hoping to land him out of high school and then again when he transferred from McNeese State. Not sure if an official offer was ever made either time but he was on their radar at least.

Looks like we will be able to catch this one on ESPN+.

So is Red in the portal or was that just speculation that he might?   I wasn't exactly paying attention as a raced through the posts earlier.    Thanks.

I don’t think he’d have any more eligibility but who knows these days.

Unheralded, no D1 offers, yet came in (at the last second) and manned the ship for 3 1/2 seasons. 9,000+ yards, 63 TDs, aided in beating the Bison, and no doubt showed Feeney and Kaminski a thing or two about leadership (especially when looking at some of the recent debacles, like the Otis Weah situation).  Everyone on this board should be grateful that kid was here to right the ship and he should be considered a UND legend, full stop.

That said, no, Tommy doesn't have big arm talent, he has had his run, and is probably not the guy to get UND over the hump of being slightly above-average, and putting them in the Frisco conversation. You have the Minnesota and Wisconsin POYs waiting in the wings. Feeney will not be a "young guy" next year, he'll be in his 3rd year of this offense, and Kaminski is a real talent as well, and by all accounts will push Feeney for QB1. If Danny and/or Bubba didn't have "the talk" with Tommy, you'd lose one or both of your big recruits, and after spring ball, you still may lose one to the TP, regardless. It was time to turn the page.

As for Romfo, he's an 11A kid from ND and will probably never get a real true shot at QB1 in an upper tier FCS program no matter what he shows in practice. I'm getting Brock Boltman vibes out of him.

Well said. I really hope they go hard on the brockstar formation with Romfo.

I will disagree on Kraft, I am told the coaching staff has been overly impressed with him and the one most game ready to play from the freshman group.  Time will tell I guess.

Oh I really liked him in that game but assuming no portal entries (I know, tough to assume) all we lose is Brady and T. Tyree is going to take major minutes and then we need a big for sure. Will be hard for Kraft to carve his way to much playing time.

You will have Eaglestaff, Tyre and Kraft that can all shoot next year.  I would imagine that next years shooting % from the 3 will be greatly improved just with the players they have now.

Tyree isn’t an abomination from 3 but he’s not a shooter either. Shot 34% last year but only 16 makes. I’d be surprised if Kraft is seeing many minutes next year.

    Maybe he should be??

You know you don’t believe that.

We will have to figure out how to break a zone, that’s for sure. Teams are going to let us shoot all day from 3, I’d imagine. I’m not trying to look to next year already but our two biggest needs have to be a big and a shooter.

  7. I wonder if he may end up back at his original commitment, Ashland University. Grand Valley State always comes to mind too just because I’m familiar with them from the D2 days, no longer know anything haha.

On a tangent from the current topic.....this is the best team Concordia has had in years. Length, athletic, skill and depth. They'll be a  suprise in the MIAC.

    .....carry on about Duke now.

They look solid. Loge is playing real well. UND’s gotta figure out how to handle the zone.

There is a good chance a UND QB enters the portal.  Who that will be, we shall see.  Will be very telling of where this coaching staff is leaning towards who decides to make that decision.

What would Vegas put as the odds on each of the QBs transferring?

  10. I don’t want to lose anyone but this kind of goes back to my point about coaches being poached. If he were to just go to another FCS school, that would suck but if he ends up going to a legitimate FBS school (already has offer from Texas Tech) than you can’t blame the kid.
