UND got absolutely torched by the Aussie with Northern Colorado on Wednesday now they finish off the non-con heading to Northern Arizona.
NAU is led by #24 6’6” Trent McLauglin averaging 15.1ppg and 3rpg. After that they have #4 5’10” Oakland Fort. Averaging 10ppg, 2.8apg and 2.6rpg. Not super impressive stats but need to see a much better defensive performance from Tyree today.
KenPom has us losing again 73-69 and Bart Torvik says 73-68. Vegas has us as 2.5 point dogs. I don’t know what to think anymore but this feels like we should have the talent to win this game.
An additional fun fact, Bart Torvik says we have 4 players in the bottom 15 players in the Summit League ratings….

I don’t understand how he’s still eligible… Isn’t this his 7th year of college ball? That includes a redshirt and Covid, did he get a medical redshirt too?

Mayar done for the season as he is academically ineligible
Would think he’s just done. I guess it opens another scholarship.

Wish they still had Dalton Knecht. Would’ve been a fun player to have come to the Betty
Oh god that would have been fun but I doubt we would have been able to contain him at all.

Will be interesting to see what the crowd is like tonight. Was a pretty good sized crowd last Friday for St. Thomas but not sure how many people will be back after watching that game.
I will be there! But yeah that was a good opportunity to encourage more to come to games. Doesn’t help tonight is on a Wednesday night either.

Well after an ugly start to conference play, UND (KP 287) and the Summit take on the Big Sky with Northern Colorado (KP 238) up first.
Looks like UNC is led by #0 6’7” forward Saint Thomas (oh great….) who’s averaging 17.4ppg and 9.4rpg. After that, #2 Dejour Davis is averaging 14.9ppg and #14 Brock Wisne adds 11.5.
UNC is not a bad team but this feels like a game we should win if we are where we want to be as a team, which the last two games suggest are aren’t.
KenPom has UNC taking this one 76-75 and Bart Torvik agrees but Vegas has UND -1.5.

I’m going to guess ever again in a UND jersey.

Tough to lose Eli on fouls. He has been our best player the last two games. Tyree has been a good second. I’d be hard pressed to find even a decent effort out of a third player for us in the last two games.

It's called loyalty....... something to be proud of.
But loyalty doesn't mean withholding criticism when it is warranted.
And criticism is more than warranted here.
I’ve been criticizing. I want Sather to succeed so bad but it’s starting to become apparent that’s not going to happen or at least not where I want the program to be. I do wonder the buyout language of his extension.

I waste too much time and energy with this team and university….. and I know I won’t stop.

It is an ugly looking free throw but it has gone in 5 out of 6 times, He is active down low and aggressive under the basket. I wish we had someone to match that….
Amar has handled him fairly well but hasn’t been in the entire time Kyle has.

Sometimes I wonder if Sather comes in with a script for subbing and doesn’t adjust. Idk doesn’t make sense many times.

Play Deng more today please. Give it a shot at least. He’s got the length and athleticism. Can’t really shoot but who can? If something doesn’t change, would imagine he hits the portal the day the season ends.
Jk - he’s in street clothes.
