  1. It looks like there is a pretty good CB available: LSU’s Tyrann Mathieu booted off team.
  2. Rank speculation on my part. I have never read the NC$$ rules but there is most likely some catchall. The academic side of PSU could also decide to let athletics die at PSU. I am not worried about B10 hockey, I wish it had never happened. The point of a hammer is to be devastating.
  3. I was not sure where to post this, but as I was charging a child sexual assault case last night, I noticed the media frenzy around the Penn State University report from Attorney Freeh on PSU's child sexual assault issue. I wonder if PSU athletics takes the hit that is being cried out for by some (death penalty), and how that impacts their ability to compete in the Big Ten, at least in football? If a B10 team can't compete in the major revenue producing sport why keep them in the conference? If that happens, which is a long way down the road, what happens to the Big Ten hockey conference? They would be down to five teams, lose an auto bid and cause another major shake-up in the college hockey world.
  4. Mr. Eades: We loved watching you play for UND. Your passion for the team and game was very evident in your spirited play. Thanks for your years coaching in the program. Good luck with whoever has the good fortune to hire you. I'm sure success will follow. A fan
  5. I saw that team play against the BADgers at the Dane County Coliseum. I can't remember which game it was, but we were down 1-0 after the first. My wife and I went to the Blue Line Club for a beer. We got a bit of late start back to our seats which were all the way around the building. As we were walking, the good guys tied the game. We kept walking and the Sioux go up 2-1. I am pretty sure we saw more goals and we swept the BADgers in their barn. Good times.
  6. Here is an update on Travis Zajak: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=616124 He may be out another month.
  7. I did not see this link posted back in January so here is a link on Bruno. http://www.collegehockeynews.com/news/2012/01/05_bruneteau_brothers_battle.php Skate hard this weekend boys, beat DULLuth.
  8. Coach Eades made the news in Madison courtesy of Andy Baggot's story on former BADger's d-man Rob Andringa: "Andringa has a lot of good tales, but the best might be the night of Jan. 30, 1982, when the legendary
  9. Brett, thanks for playing for UND. I enjoyed your time with the team on the ice and your sense of humor on the award winning Brad Miller Time. Good luck on your path to the NHL. Hopefully you can swap Fighting Sioux stories with your next coach. Have a mustache growing contest with him.
  10. I head out on leave from Iraq tomorrow and my wife and daughter and I all be there in Section 107. See you all there.
  11. Hey Aussie Sioux, the Mahoney's from Wisconsin have a spare ticket. I'm in Iraq for a few more days, but I will put you in touch with my wife if you wish. Drop a line. Nice weekend boys. See everybody in St. Paul.
  12. Another nice article from the Sun-Times about Captain Toews. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/4357230-419/jonathan-toews-pure-talent-often-lost-in-talk-of-intangibles.html
  13. Quite the streak. Travis Zajac C New Jersey Devils Height: 6'3' Weight: 195 DOB: 5/13/1985 Age: 25 Mar. 14, 2011 - 2:26 p.m. ET Travis Zajac will tie a franchise record for most consecutive games played if he takes part in Tuesday's game against Atlanta. Zajac's iron man streak currently stands at 387 games. His streak dates back to October 26th, 2006, after he missed a contest during his rookie campaign. Ken Daneyko, who is the Devils' current record holder, didn't miss a game between November 4th, 1989 and March 29th, 1994. Source: New Jersey Online
  14. I am watching Matt Greene act as a judge on a Food Network show.called Cupcake Wars.
  15. I hope some folks take some Fighting Irish = Hostile and Abusive 'nickname', 'mascot' whatever signs this weekend. Go ND, go Fighting Sioux.
  16. This entire post is silly. Somebody was mean to me in an opposing team's arena!!!! Boo hoo. Stay home if you can't defend yourself in the enemy territory. I have worn many a Sioux jersey to Houghton, Duluth, MSP, Mankato, Madison, Denver and CC. People in those arenas get upset when they see Sioux colors for some reason. True that fans should not pick on you for being from the other team, but they do. If you can't handle it, stay home. I have never had a problem at any enemy building for being a UND alum. Twits are everywhere. Move on with your life. I am in Iraq. People are mean to us here too.
  17. TSN ranks the top 50 NHL players. J. Toews is number 3 and Z Parise is number 16. Too bad we collected no hardware while they were at UND. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=336437
  18. I have attended UND Fighting Sioux Ice Hockey games in all three home venues. The Barn had no magic when I attended. It was very cold in the early 1970s as a young lad, the hot chocolate was great, the Sioux, not so great. The Winter Sports Building was an amazing advance. I saw many great games there while at school at GFRR and when I was a UND student from 1976-1983. The massive pre-game fight that Scott Marvin started against the BADgers, the 3 goal deficit come back win against the rodents. The atmosphere in the packed to the rafters WSB was amazing. The Ralph, well what can you say, it is very civilized.
  19. Link to VV interview at Oiler's Prospects Camp. http://oilers.nhl.tv/team/console.jsp?catid=4&id=73691
  20. I am Irish (but that has been taken and is evidently not hostile or abusive) and other stuff, but what about the Fighting Scandinavians For those die hards who Facebook check out http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=107491949290594.
  21. Good topic. I have to start this by saying I only had the opportunity to see the team play twice in person this season as I am in Iraq. That was a split in Duluth that should have been a Sioux sweep. I did see some action on the computer when I could. I wish this program plays in the post-season with passion. I wish the team plays like it mattered to them. I wish the team figures out that only playing one period of Sioux hockey won't get it done. I wish Animal is the most laid back Fighting Sioux on the ice. And the obvious one, I wish I get to see the team win next year's Frozen Four in St. Paul live and in person.
  22. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hocke...0,3392116.story Good snap of the Hawks cap doing his Archibald impression. Then a story on David and big bro hopefully picking up the tab for dinner. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/hocke...0,3392116.story Let's go Sioux. Beat those offensively nicknamed Fighting Irish.
  23. Good work Matt. Do good stuff and have fun. Go Sioux ! ! !
  24. Was Stafford a theater arts major? Great job. I laughed. Good stuff.
