If I recall he came in when we were on like the 3 yard line on 3rd down and he floated a complete duck......and Wanzek made a great catch to save the TD.

    I think you are correct!

haha, Wasn't it Brad Heidlebaugh? I only remember seeing him really throw a few passes, and one was just a complete duck. I feel like he transferred out, but don't remember where he went, and have no clue if he ever ended up seeing the field anywhere.

  3. Didn't see anything from Maag last night. Was really hoping he would get some looks late, but it sounded like he got nicked up on special teams. Hopefully he is fine and will be back out there with some more opportunities in the next game.

Just make sure if you do go, you don't report anything positive; that type of news isn't well received here. :)

Looks like my schedule will allow me to get out there on Tuesday and Friday next week.  Maybe just maybe Friday this week but that is not looking good.  True, this thread is a train wreck.

    Queue @gfhockey... I don't think we want him ;).

Smells like Minnesota, but apparently he wants to stay out east. We'll see

As a PL guy who watched him closely in the state tourney, he absolutely dominated against CDH (I think) .... but Maple Grove knew exactly how to stop PL. Shut down bump and shut down the team. If Bump was going to make a difference he needed to be distributing the puck more and not try to make it all happen himself.

Maybe this mentality changes when he is on a a team with more talent. Maybe that is just his game, in which case it could hold him back. I honestly haven't watched or followed the kid enough to know what his potential is, but it was awesome having him in PL.

If he has the skill, I hope the coaches take a look, but who knows. I was surprised when he picked Vermont in the first place.

chris carter was one of the slowest WR in the history of the league yet he was one of the best ever........because he was smarter than his defender 99% of the time.....after seeing KK get burned on the same stuff year after year i wonder about his intelligence not his speed.

Could that change with a simpler defensive scheme though? Maybe the D coordinator was asking for more than KK was capable of coordinating on the field. Maybe a simpler scheme will allow him to utilize his strengths?!?

The seven I'm watching most are Hensler, Mooney, Lindberg, Laurila, Cullen Potter, O'Neill, Heil.

What year would these kids be eligible to come in? Tier wise, how high level are these guys? Potential draft rounds?

Yeah, among its many changes lately, Twitter decided to effectively cut off third parties from being able to automatically integrate Tweets into other pages. Instagram had made similar changes many years ago, so that social media page hasn't been what it was originally designed to be in many years, but I just never pulled the plug because it still usefully aggregated Tweets. Now that that's not a thing anymore, I'll formally pull the plug on it.

Bummer, that was always a nice notification system.

  10. Tommy is the guy BUT as other have stated, I really hope he has spent the summer working on that long ball. He seems to add a new element to his game every year. Last year we finally saw him run when the opportunities were there. This year he needs to continue to build on that AND hit some deep balls, some of that is accuracy and some of that is trusting your receivers to make plays.

Defense could be interesting this year. Hope some guys are ready to step up. I thought I read something before about them simplifying the defense which could be a huge help. The question beyond that; is the talent there and do we have enough guys that can make plays?

My biggest hope as we head into camp .... PLEASE STAY HEALTHY!!! The Lotysz news really bums me out, but fortunately. O-Line has been built into a team strength in a relatively short period of time.

  11. Is there a website glitch cause the twitter/social media section of the main page to not update? I've noticed the same tweets up there for a while; looks like something isn't updating.

  12. Recruiting has been kind of surreal this summer. Haven't seen that one crazy high level recruit (YET), but seen A LOT of really solid guys and all positions. I feel like we need to see some additions at the LB positions still, but plenty of time. Super impressed with some of the guys we have thus far. Really excited about where we are heading. Hoping our new D-Coordinator can step in and make a nice impact because I really like the way everything else is trending.

I don't understand the pull of St. Thomas. They aren't competitive enough to play in the NCHC right now. Minnesota State is far more compelling amongst the current teams available.

There is that whole education thing, and they are a good school

10 is still young and could improve. 84, 13, and 12 have no business being on a DI roster. They can transfer- give ‘em the green light.

This just popped up on my screen and I had to question is.

84 is young so I have no clue what is potential will be.

But 13 made some nice contributions as a depth player and was 12 a pretty key part of our offense at times?

My guess is Feeney is the 2, Romfo is the 3, Jerry K is at 4 but honestly... (I wouldn't be shocked if he quickly shot up the depth chart).

    Q is the new Brockstar

    Wish Q had Brockstars speed

or does that mean we might have a new starting qb against drake and they didn't wanna answer a lot of questions and who why when?

This doesn't even make sense. If they didn't want to raise questions or answer them, they would have put Tommy on the posted regardless.

Maybe Tommy didn't want to be on it. Maybe he was sick the day they took pictures. Maybe they didn't care which players were on it as much as getting the right pictures.

It must be July if this is the conversation we are stretching for. If you think anyone except for Tommy will start the season, you're nuts. They're not going to sit a guy who has dominated our record books and been or most successful and consistent guy in a long time. I'm not saying Tommy is the best in the league, but you'd be crazy to think he isn't THE guy to start the season barring injury.

That being said, I am very intersted to see who #2 is. Sounded like Q would be working at TE some, though I hope they keep him at QB for the short yardage packages. Really hoping Feeney is ready to step up if needed.

The schedule for the 2023 football season has been updated at fightinghawks.com to include television coverage for each game. ESPN+ is not listed as covering any of the games. Only the Boise State and N. Iowa games are shown as being covered nationally on FS1 and ESPN3, respectively. The first weeks full schedule is out on the ESPN website, and very few FCS games are indicated to be broadcast on ESPN+. Does anyone have any insight as to whether ESPN+ is pulling away from comprehensively covering the FCS, or is this simply a situation where broadcast scheduling has not been completed? The current TV schedule as it stands is potentially bad news for those of us out of the Midco footprint.

Its early enough that I would assume this is a timing issue and the schedule just hasn't been completed yet. Pretty sure MVFC has a contract in place with ESPN+ and we would have heard something if the games weren't going to be broadcast.

Had an offer from Yale and PWO from Iowa.  Looks like good OL get.

Nice to pick up an Iowa kid who could have gone to Iowa. We've seem plenty of those types of players pick their home state or the bigger school with PWO offers.

Can't wait to see what else comes with this next recruiting class.
