  1. ok after some time to digest the game, here are my takeaway, because I was definitely way more frustrated that I would have expected after a win against a solid ranked opponent. - a tale of two halves; Is this on the players lack of execution in the 2nd half, or the coaching staff making the wrong kind of adjustments? I tend to think it had more to do with the coach staff and the type of game they wanted to call. They were trying to force a run game that just wasn't going to work, and they were trying to do so without BB who to that point had been dominant. It is as though Bubba hits a certain lead, or number of points, and thinks its ok to ride it out. If you can score on them, and you can complete passes, then you better do so if you want to compete at this level. -Had the coaches called a 2nd half the same as they did the 1st half, there would be no complaining, and way more excitement about the win. -Kett had a nice first half, and for all the complaining against the guy, had some solid moments. He probably isn't going to go out and win you a bunch of games, but he can get the job done. That being said, you cannot scramble back 20 yards like he was doing, especially with how we have seen him fumble when he gets hit, that could be disastrous, and I hope to never ever see him under throw the ball when trying to throw it away. That was just embarrassing... almost as embarrassing as his hair cut. I hope to see another step forward from Kett this week, but the coach need to mix BB in more, and let him throw once in a while to keep that pass threat alive; wow does the kid have some wheels though. - Who the hell was wearing Brady Leach's jersey at the end of the game? Couldn't have actually been him, could it? Seriously, I had not faith on a 45 yard kick under pressure, but did that kid ever get it done. Good for him and I really hope it is something he can build off of. I was hoping he would be amped up enough after that to boot one into the end zone, but for now I'll take the huge FG. Well done Brady! - CJ Siegel, is a tremendous talent, and I really hope to see him continue his growth. Unless absolutely needed, I hope Evan can take a RS year and come back healthy and strong next season. Siegel, Fort, Holm, Blubaugh .... thats a dominant secondary. Definitely looking forward to the game next weekend, but would nice to put a team away early. I am sick of screaming and yelling at my tv in the 4th quarter (and I know my wife is sick of it). Lets have a dominant game where we can get some back ups in for experience and all come away feeling good about beating the hell out of someone.
  2. The team did, but the abysmal coaching almost cost them.
  3. The 3 and out after the big Siegel int return was some of the worst coaching I have ever seen. Giant momentum swing, a chance to put the game away, and the coaches killed their own momentum. Completely unacceptable. How Bubba cannot see the need for a change in his mentality is what will get him canned, hopefully sooner than later.
  4. Bubba did not. This team won in spite of coaching, not because of it. I would absolutely take the Davis coach, loved the aggressive calls. The guys plays to win the game.
  5. Wow! Hope that gives Brady some confidence!
  6. Did BB even play in the second half?
  7. Bubba is a damn joke
  8. I’d ask the kicker to, but he would miss
  9. So is that Bubba or Danny?
  10. Siegel is the man!!
  11. Seriously, why did they stop mixing Brock in?
  12. Kett needs to be cut for that throw and punched in the throat for that haircut! Holy Siegel!!!!
  13. Terrible defensive series
  14. Anyone heard anything about skokna? Is he still not healthy?
  15. Nice pick!
  16. Came out sleeping
  17. Hope so. I’m excited to see him over the next two years.
  18. When is the last time we had a QB throw for over 200 in a half. very impressive showing so far, especially after last weekend.
  19. More swing passes on that drive than the past few seasons combined
  20. Doesn’t get much better than that drive to start a game. Well done!
  21. Anyone know what Pluto channel this is on? i assume 530 but the game isn’t listed.
  22. In Berry's first year, I remember seeing a player say something to the affect of, they were scared to let Hak down, but they just didn't want to let Berry down. There is something to both of those feelings, but I think the latter may be geared towards more established talented players (Caggiula, Boeser, Schmaltz, etc.), while the former produces better results from a team holistically at this level, given the transition from HS and Juniors, and the development they are going through. You don't want to have your team be scared of you, but you do want them to know what the expectations are and have them live up to those. I like Berry, but I would bring Hak back in a second. I was a huge fan of how he coached, what he got out of his player, and just his whole demeanor in general.
  23. Anything less than a sweep is unacceptable!
  24. Well maybe, but I'm not ready to put offensive woes on Freund at this point either. To your point, it goes higher, and I think a lot of that is Bubba and recruiting. O line is still a problem, D line is way to small. QB has never been emphasized.
  25. sad, but true. I'll still watch, and I'll still cheer, but it is tough to have high hopes when the program lacks proper leadership. I actually though Bubba should have been gone before this year. He could have fired Rudy a year earlier, but chose to hold on to a guy that couldn't do the job. At that point he was just as much at fault as Rudy was. Getting rid of Rudy when he did was a year too late as far as I am concerned. Now Chaves will be in a similar position. Is he willing to make a change, or let the coaching issue linger longer than it needs to. If you can get the right coach, you can change a program fairly quickly. UND has just had an issue with finding that right coach.
