  1. Sicatoka- Pipedream. NO WAY will McLeod not be renewed. He's a SUPERB Butt kisser. He'll make a bunch of promises and cite parity (even though the league has become a bit more of a parody of itself). He'll be renewed and give an extension to his good buddy Shepherd. I'd LOVE to get new blood in there. I don't know who. I'd LOVE to have the new WCHA commissioner NOT be from a WCHA school. Maybe someone from Hockey East. I don't know if that's possible. Maybe the WCHA commish has to be someone from a WCHA school. But one thing is for sure, I would LOVE to have an NHL officiating administrator to be head of officials. I can't believe that the worst NHL official wouldn't be an upgrade.
  2. Tied 1-1 UNH's goal is very nice.
  3. I'm watching it on ESPNU
  4. Why? Finley won't singlehandedly lose any games for us. Seriously, though, I think our D isn't going to be as dominant next year, but I don't think they'll be bad. What concerns me the most is LaPoint... How will he be after his injury? Will he be ready and 100%?
  5. Intermission report: Melrose and his cohort call Miami a powerhouse DI team. Nice compliment for the winners of 2 NCAA games in their NCAA careers. I guess I owe Miami an apology. Not their fault the media gets all weak in the knees and retarded around them.
  6. I'm 100% pro BSU. A number of reasons why: 1. ECACHL is a weak conference. Any success provides instant overhype 2. Cornell employs a game even UW would find boring 3. Their coach, though sometimes right, comes across as a whiner. BY the way, BU 1-0
  7. Here's your trophy:
  8. I don't think the officiating had anything to do with the injuries. I'm pretty sure Hextall's injury comes from taking a puck off the foot. Trupp took a nasty hit (but I can't remember if the check was clean or not.. I don't remember the game). It surprises me to say this because I do believe that the incompetency of the officials in the WCHA is a huge safety issue.
  9. Sorta off topic, but... Is Finley the tallest player in Sioux history?
  10. I agree whole heartedly.
  11. Everyone wants Steve Johnson. I like the guy too. He did wonders in Lincoln. However, something some of you seem to ignore: UND requires their Hockey Head Coach to hold a MASTERS DEGREE. Steve Johnson, at the time the hiring was going on, HADN'T EVEN BEGUN to get one. So he WASN'T QUALIFIED! This stuff ain't Holiday Inn Express, folks. So, who are you going to blame in this? O'Keefe? Blais? UND? Ok, maybe you could argue that UND shouldn't have such stringent hiring practices....oh wait... all that crap about expectations and tradition... guess not. The blame for not qualifying rests SOLELY upon the shoulders of Steve Johnson. Now, I hear he's started taking Masters coursework. I don't know how or where I heard this, but... Others wanted a National Search. Why? So Hakstol could be hired over a bunch of national candidates? Would that have made people feel better? The time to run a proper national search would have certainly affected recruiting schedules and perhaps the decisions of recruits that haven't signed LOIs.... All for what? All this pining for someone else is retarded. And it makes us hypocritical. Like Jim Dahl said, Woog got fired for supposedly similar reasons. Oh well... Hakstol has yet to finish the year under 500. He's yet to fail to make the NCAAs, IIRC. I could throw out analogy after analogy, some are pretty far fetched, but apt. So many great coaches weren't given a fair shake in one or another head coaching job (Bellicheck in Cleveland, Gwozdecky in ND (IIRC), Lucia (he wasn't fired I don't think, but we can put his time at CC in this category), Julien in NJ, and countless others)
  12. I still think people are ticked that their choice of a head coach wasn't selected. I think Blais is to blame. After all, HE WAS THE ONE WHO ADVISED UND TO HIRE HAKSTOL. Obviously, can't trust an idiot like Dean Blais.
  13. It's not why we lost, but it can certainly affect the way those injured players play the game.
  14. Your proof being? Of course, if you want to hold both Genoway and Finley accountable for this, then it changes things a bit. Why? Because that means you're not putting it all on Finley, which is what every other poster has done thus far. I suppose I'd be much for apt to listen if both being accountable were the case.
  15. Yup. We were a 2. UNH was a 3. PRetty evenly matched. A toss up. Michigan, DU, and ND losing takes our choke job off the hook. Still a choke job, but we can truthfully say we showed up. Michigan and ND are still trying to find where their teams went and why their intramural teams had to take the game instead. And I maintain Miami got lucky and UMD ran out of luck.
  16. Those faxes are the dinosaur teams like the Wild, who are probably too cheap to get texting or blackberrry accounts. I say Bozek was reading them via textmessage the instant he turned his cell on.
  17. I also find it strange to see that people assume that defense works on an individualized basis. There are TWO defensemen on the ice at any given time 5 on 5 and even the forwards have some defensive responsibility. Where was Finley's defensive partner? Why did Finley go behind the net? Was the play he was running require him that deep? What was the strategy involved? Or did he just get beat on that one play? Even the best D get beat. Genoway gets beat all the time. The fact is, who knows. And according to Brad's blog, Finley was playing with a seperated shoulder. Seriously... how much hockey can you all play with a seperated shoulder? Hextall played with a broken foot. Wow.
  18. Well, any way you put it, this year the WCHA laid an egg. Right now the Frozen Four has 2 HEA teams in it (Vermont and BU/UNH), at least one CCHA team (Miami at this point), and maybe an ECAC or CHA team. Wow. Expect ESPN to basically spend 90% of their coverage on BU/UNH/UVM: whichever makes it to the Frozen Four. The others are also-rans (with the exception of perhaps Cornell if they make it).
  19. UMD putting on a clinic when it comes to pathetic PP units. Seriously... 5 on 3 for over a minute and I'm not sure Knapp made more than 1 save (nor did he have to as most attempts went wide or were blocked). 3 Miami Redtards outplayed 5 Bulldogs. Mercier scored shorthanded and on the powerplay. Seriously, the bulldogs need 5 on 5 hockey. If they're down a man, they're in trouble. If they are up by a man, they are in trouble, and if they are up by 2 players, they become incompetant.
  20. This has got to be one of the most messed up brackets in a long time. I forgot to join, but don't worry... I'd be 0-for-everything. And I can't for the sake of me understand why some people had Miami beating DU. DU may be slumping, but seriously, Miami has so many similarities to SCSU that even now I couldn't imagine picking them over almost any other team... certainly most teams in the HEA, CCHA, or WCHA. I think Miami could beat a Princeton or a Vermont or a Yale. Up until a few moments ago, I would also have placed BSU in that category. Now, I'm not so certain.
  21. Hard to say that. He's really good, but how will his game translate? How many "can't miss" high school DI prospects have come to college straight from high school and failed to make the grade? Not every player is TJ Oshie. Meaning I think Forbort should come in when he's ready (according to the coaches and the player) even if that means one less year at UND.
  22. Then there is no one to blame than the players on the ice. Off sides or not, you play out the action until you know for sure a whistle has sounded. IF they assumed that it was offsides and slowed down... then... wow.
  23. Like a 2 goal lead might have done it for us? No. I'd say they'd need 2 or 3 more to make it a done deal. Otherwise, it ain't over until it is over.

I don't know much information, but I know there were a bunch of people from Omaha that went up there. I couldn't go....
