Must be #219 then for me. Cheer loud!
-
I'll be in Suite # 217 (or is it #219? Oh well. First row seat number 5 or 6 Saturday only
-
Wow. If so, then the Devils got lucky. They squeak by with may 1 nickel and 4 pennies to spare under the cap.
-
No doubt. It seemed coming into the season that they'd filled in the gaps at D. Schack was supposed to be a spot player and now he'll get more ice time. He IS the depth at D for the Gophers now that Hagemo is gone. It's an interesting dilemma to have a player like Schack (who isn't all that heralded and is basically one step up from a walk on) be the depth at a position that had its weak spots in years past.

Hale hasn't been signed yet. Still working out the snafu regarding the Malakhov/Mogilny/Salary Cap in general crap. So far they've signed GIonta, but they still haven't been able to resign Hale, Martin, or Clemmenson.

This is all I need to know, thank you. Now, I hope it doesn't fill up too quickly. I'd like to get there between 6 and 6:15pm on Saturday for a 7:07pm start...

No, but he was throwing at just over 50% completion rate (including the INTs because, hey, they WERE caught... just by the wrong team! ). Seriously, He's on pace for just under 30 TDs this season at this pace and what's classic is that he's also on pace to surpass that in INTs. AZSioux, I thought his first INT was pretty funny. Plunked one off the helmet of Morrissey and into the waiting arms of a rookie DT (Ramsey?). Classic. Packers or LIons.... Which team will be 0-16? Well... If the Lions play the Packers, someone will have to win, no? Talk about a snoozefest game for sure.

I guess I should have told you the whole story, huh? Ok, here's how it plays out. I'm taking a friend with me to the game on Saturday. We live in Fargo, you see? He has plans earlier that day to watch his son play football. I will see him tommorrow evening. After that, we will both be out of touch until Saturday afternoon. He wants to know what time we're going to have to leave. If I have to make plans to go to a different parking lot than the one I usually park in (Med School lot), then I'll have to plan accordingly and let him know tommorrow evening. Does that make more sense to you now? I'm flattered by how concerned you are about my planning process.

I haven't seen that much brown and orange since I saw pictures of the living room of my parents' first home.... They bought it in 1969!
-
What about the Med School parking lot on Saturdays? I'm going up there on Saturday and I'm wondering if I can park there? I guess I'll pay the $5 but if I need to find elsewhere to park, I need to make plans soon for that.

Good move by the U in keeping him on scholarship. Tough loss for the Gophers (and his pro team). Nate's condition is sad. I truly wish him the best. Don't care much about the Gophers but this isn't a Gophers-related loss exactly. Losing a hockey player to anything other than graduation (college), early departure (college), or retirement (pro) is just a sad event for the sport. He was talented and no doubt he will be missed.

Yup. Twice as many incompetant or underpaid officials that Greg can mismanage, corrupt, and totally bungle administratively. Good ref or not, Greg is a poor administrator. No accountability for his officials and really, when you have another member of the officiating crew to the equation, it is a recipe for disaster. My solution is simple: Step 1: Fire Greg Shepherd and hire a retired (or close to retired) NHL official to head the WCHA officiating crew. Step 2: Instead of spending money to put a 4th official on the ice.... get this... raise the pay for the existing officials in exchange for a tighter accountability practice. By 2008 the job search can be accomplished for Step 1 and the turnover of the incompetant officials can begin in earnest.

He's a Gopher fan that doesn't realize that one of the reasons why fans in this area bought Holy Cross memorabilia is because it provoked such a strong response from Gopher fans. If Gopher fans ignored the whole thing (meaning, no posts on it at all or maybe a ha ha post), I don't know if it would have been quite as popular as it turned out to be. Even so, whether Minnesota likes to admit it or not, it is a pretty historical event for Holy Cross, Atlantic Hockey, and perhaps even the NCAA Regionals. True David vs. Goliath stories tend to sell even outside the sporting venue.

If the Vikings do lose to the Lions, you're right. It is over. The Vikings do play the Lions twice this season and, in so doing, will more than likely win both of those games. So, at minimum, they are a 4 win team. Wrost case scenario is that they split vs. Green Bay and that would make them a 5 game winner. I pick them to sweep the Packers too. Say what you will about Favre, but the Packers just suck.

Meanwhile, opposing players start putting metal studs on their elbow and shoulder pads and Altru Medical Center (or wherever the game is being played) sends 3 or 4 extra ambulances and has their full ER staff on standby. That combination of blindness and ignorance to player safety is downright frightening.

Fabian-Kaip and Oshie-Toews are knock out PK combos. I think an alternate could be Watkins as well.

Toews Gets no Love in the CHN Pre-season Rankings.

Convenient excuse, if you ask me. More realistic answer is probably because the refs couldn't hack it. Or maybe that's why the coaches won't go for it? Trust me, if the WCHA had NHL quality officials, I doubt the coaches would be against this rule. -
You can learn, ya know. Just don't do what my friend's father did 10 years ago when he got a brand new (at the time) Harley Police Special. He pulls up in front of his family after bringing it home from the dealer and promptly puts it on its side.

Can't take any of them, but if anyone's browsing: I've been a recipient of LB's kindness. And trust me: These are GREAT seats. WOW. Too bad they're not for Saturday's game...

I like some of the line suggestions. One thing I will say is that I disagree with mikeypat in that putting the enforcers together on a pairing isn't a great idea unless we're talking penalty kill. Having an offensive minded dman paired with a defensive minded dman brings a balance to the blue line. Now with the likes of Radke, Lee, Chorney, Genoway, and (to a certain extent) Bina, the blue line is becoming more and more a part of the offensive scheme of the team rather than the days of old (Dmen play mainly defense with a few here and there contributing offensively). I think it should be: Lee-Chorney Jones-Radke Finley-Bina
-
You mean more refs to raise their hands at odd times and drive the penalty counts up exponentially. Hey! Just think of what an "honor" it would be to have a reffing tandem of Don Adam and Todd Anderson! Or maybe Marco Hunt and Derek Shepherd? I think we'll start seeing games where entire periods are played on special teams.

No, the Queens. The Lions will be pathetic for however long Millen is GM of the team (=2 years after he's gone so as to remove his legacy from the team).
-
Wow. The only score that is more stunning to me is....17-12 Buffalo. I DEFINITELY thought Minnesota had more to offer against Buffalo than that. Well, Buffalo IS in the AFC and the AFC IS better than the NFC (with the probable exception of the Bears and, I thought, the Seahawks). Don't the Queens play Detroit next week? If so, they'll rebound then.
-
Yet when you set the trend, you're pissed off because people actually follow it?

Thanks Hockeymom! Now...if only I could get ahold of the goals we scored on video....
