Yeah, but all it has to do is cross the red line and it's a goal. Back of the net, just across the line, either way, the score goes up by 1. Great goal Greene! But the question is: If the ads are all over the players, does that mean the hockey arena is relatively unscathed by ads and the marquis could be used for something other than Altru, Old Dutch, Whatever Farms meats, etc.?

Where's BDB on this? I'm surprised we haven't had the "We should fire Hakstol immediately and hire Blais if this is true" stuff yet.

Too little too late. I always live with myself after being proven wrong again and again. Eventually I will get something right. However, the instant I start verbally insulting people, that's the moment that I have to come to grips that I have opened up the gates, so to speak, for people to throw verbal insults back at me. You can try to reneg all you want, and some may even believe you. However, you'll just have to move on to the fact that there apparently aren't a whole lot of people who do believe you any longer. I hope I'll eventually be proven wrong on this, but for right now, this is the bed you created for yourself, Lives-to-play. You'll have to sleep in it no matter how unfair you think the other posters are acting towards you.

I think you should speak for yourself before deciding to speak for others. You do not, nor will ever, speak for me. Whether I am right or wrong, I do all the speaking for myself. No one else has the right to do it for me. Thanks.

Some of us don't want to recognize Canada as part of North America. They're too close to the French.

She'd be an excellent candidate.

Where did I say that? I said that if a player is on your "low respect/disrespect" list, then there is basically no point in arguing otherwise. Kozek, as an example, could be learning a role he didn't play in juniors which is affecting his offensive production but all you see is that he's not scoring (goals or assists). Therefore he sucks. There is nothing anyone can say to you that will change your mind short of some miraculous stretch (one game means little) where that player starts playing up to the hype you hold each of the players to (usually the hype that is generated by junior A stat sheets and the pontification of those who understand little about the effect that DI may have on the development of players), he will remain on your "low respect" list. EDIT: Here's a good example of development: Look at Chris Porter his first two years. He did alright. Then his junior year he was put on the 3rd line. His goal output plummetted. People, even up to the beginning of this season, called for him to be placed on the 3rd line or even the 4th line because he's not able to score. Now, I know you've spoken positive things about Porter and I'm not claiming you were one of these posters, but it seems to be that it was the role that affected his production and not his ability or lack therein. But, alas, here I go, arguing with you about giving the proper amount of respect to all players, not just those you respect. Arguing against that is like arguing with a rebellious teenager. That is what I'm saying. Don't put words into my mouth. I've never claimed that generalization.

According to ESPN.com's transaction page, Brandon Bochenski and Lee Goren have both been reassigned to the AHL. Matt Jones has been called up to Phoenix.

Yeah, but using Grainbelt on jockstraps for sterilization purposes is grounds for alcohol abuse charges, no? What would THETRIOUXPER have to say about someone pouring beer all over jockstraps? Would the visual that provides cause him any remote discomfort in drinking another beer after that? If so, for how long would the beer boycott last?

And if the Sioux go out for another goaltender and he's not a North Dakota product, is less than 20 years old as a freshman, and doesn't ride the pine for at least 1 season (because somehow that automatically assures that he'll never lose a game his freshman year even if his team doesn't score when he's in net), he'll probably be thrown under the bus too. I don't blame Phil for the sweep. He's just part of the problem. But then again, Im just a worthless poster who thinks that this team is losing because of team problems and is unwilling to throw players under the bus.
-
And once again you are trying to argue a point with Lives to Play regarding yet another player on his "disrespect" list. Please. I don't care if Kozek hasn't scored because Hakstol told him not to score (like that would happen, but still), little short of Kozek putting the team on his back and carrying them to #8 will change Lives to Play's opinion. Remember folks: Lives to Play has said very little positive things about Kozek, Finley, Kaip, Grieco, Watkins, and a few others. As you are all pretty well aware, he's an authority on these players and, since he thinks they stink, they must stink and there is nothing we can say or do to change his mind. I've accepted that and moved on. I think we all need to move on and accept that. Your Dr. Phil moment of the day.

And it's been proven time and time again (Last year's Sioux team can even attest to this) that when freshmen are relied upon to be anything more than freshmen, they are doomed to fail. Look at this stunning reliance on the Gophers on Okposo. Sure, he's not the MAIN reason the Gophers are winning, but what if he hits a slump? How will that affect UMN's offense? I think UND's freshmen class is doing just fine for their conditioning. Zajac has been pretty solid, Genoway a pleasant surprise. Forney is still hampered (I bet) with his shoulder. Vandevelde improves every time he feels ice under his skates in a game situation. I really don't think this freshman class is "bad" by any comparison. What is making this team bad is poor goaltending and bad team play. I guess sophomore slump could be a part as well.

I guess some people interpet the phrase "you're wrong" as offensive.

I'm not quite sure he's being sarcastic. I don't remember this much negativity being on this message board since I've joined the board.

Since when were the freshmen expected to be the main driving force for our team? That designation belongs to our sophomores. I won't try to explain it any further than that. I'm not sure I could express it clearly enough.

There are now 3 threads talking about it. The trifecta is now complete.

One of the youngest. Not the youngest though. I bet we would be the youngest if Bina and Walski weren't included.

I'm not altogether sure why LA fired him in the first place. He wasn't exactly tanking despite not making the playoffs his last two years in LA. He actually did an amazing job since he constantly seemed to be leading a team chock full of players on IR. I feel bad for Kitchen though. Run under the bus. Hired as an interim head coach at the end of last season and strung along like cheap meat until it was convenient to toss him out the door.
-
Don't hear any negative vibes from me! Just towards certain aspects (like throwing individual players under the bus to resolve TEAM problems). I want us to be competitive and make the post season. I love the Sioux and I will support the boys as long as they wear Sioux colors and even after they're gone!

Yikes. I thought he was Mercyhurt's head coach! This means Paul could very well be back with the program! What about snagging the head women's coach at Shattuck?

PCM- Love your responses. It makes me feel a lot better about this year's team. As for how we are currently playing. I hope we come together solid and the opponents think we are only as good as what we did vs. Maine and UW. That way we'll knock them flat on their butts and run away with it the second half of the year.
-
WOW. Some things I can actually agree with! Untimely penalties are killing this team. "PK is inconsistent?" Don't we actually have to HAVE ONE to be inconsistent with? Seriously, the PK is the worst I've EVER seen it. Usually our powerplay sucks but our PK isn't half bad (never have I seen it lead the league, but it's never been this awful either). I'm not sure I agree with everything, but I too was confused to return to read how Radke was benched this weekend. I seriously believe he's progressed so much since he was a freshman that he'd be one of the last people to be benched. Even with his recent drought, I still think Porter has done a magnificent job thus far. I hope he comes out of his funk soon.

Only if he wanted leverage against Mercyhurst. He's currently running the #1 program in the nation. Apart from sentimentality or contract leverage, why would he? I think his ship has sailed. I think UND should try to swipe an associate head coach from a successful program such as UMD, UMN, or UW.
