Again, how insensitive! At least you could give him a link!

Congrats on a great regular season!

Yeah, but if I say "throw anyone under the bus" GBpakrrzzzzzzzzzzzzz comes unglued. And besides, everything thrown out a moving vehicle usually ends up in some river or another -
Maybe he got amnesia? Why don't we show him some sympathy for this devastating mental illness! Cue the Red X.

The UW series, in my mind will be the hardest fought. Both teams employ a trap style defensive structure. Both have good goaltending (though I'd give the edge to UW). The thing is that I think DU has more players who can score and, still, an effective power play. So I'd put it down to: Goaltending: UW Defense: Push Offense: DU PK: Push PP: DU Coaching: UW (I don't like UW's playing style but I respect Eaves more than Gwozdecky despite Gwoz having 1 more NC than Eaves)

Great post. It's simply amazing the number of posters who are loyal to other teams (not just hockey) that have come here and forget the bolded part of your post. Yeah, I'll be the optimist and say that the number of new trolls (posters who harbor no respect towards the main constituancy of the board which they are posting) have decreased dramatically, but there still are those who just can't get over the fact that this is a Sioux message board where there are certain posters who will, at times, post things that just are not flat out nice towards other teams. That's a reality. I wouldn't expect any different at the Gophers message board, UW's message board (do they have one?), DU's message board, SCSU's, or any other team's boards with regards to the Sioux. Visitors don't have to like it, and I would be surprised if they did, but Kent has to remember that this is a Sioux board just like we have to remember the host school when visiting the other boards.

10-0?!?! Wow. I guess MSUM packed it in after losing a close one.

Thanks JFR. I'd also like to add my thanks to the posters this season and to the team (if they read the boards) on a great regular season. I'd especially like to thank PCM and all the rationally minded posters who didn't give up on the team early in the season when it was really bad. All the posters who didn't wish a single player be thrown down the river. You guys are awesome. Now let's get the Final Five opponents taken care of and off to the NCAA!!!! -
Careful, The Oshie might get jealous of this mancrush on Hollywood.
-
All you need is MSUM to beat the Sioux and you have an upset sweep.

spelling wasn't too far off, though. Maybe that's because he didn't drink keystone.

UMTC in 2 SCSU in 3 (Yeah, I think UMD is going to take the first game, Motzko will crap his pants and Goephert will shut the Dogs down for the season after that) UND in 3 (I think MSUM will take the first game, get a false sense of security, and then get outscored 14-3 the remaining two games. Morin and Tormey will be the only two players for MSUM who show up for this series) UW in 3 (UW-DU-UW is how it will go. UW wins because UW will bore the DU players to sleep in the first game, DU will wake up the second, and then fall unconscious by boredom and fatigue from trying to stay awake long enough to win in Game 2) MTU in 3 (CC takes game 1 and then runs out of gas. I actually think an MTU victory here might hurt the Sioux unless a CC victory doesn't knock MTU out of the top 25. If it doesn't, then it's a wash. UND has at least one full scoring line. CC has one scorer...period).

Good point. Or an NDSU troll. Brad's had a few of those.

Tooling through the posts on the thread and this one caught my eye. mygarske -- Don't fret! Yeah, the DOT line is producing and our freshmen are slowly turning it around BUT... There is a poster on Schlossman's blog that is still calling for Hakstol's firing. Though everyone is playing well, there are still posters clinging to the hope that Hakstol will pack Finley and Lee's bags. So, the "fair weather" is still alive and well. By the way: Finley gets 3 assists tonight. Lee with another assist. Gosh. I can't wait for Marto and Blood come in next fall so we can bench these two bums. Nice game tonight. By the way, Lammy, try to keep the five hole closed? K?

Surely there are some, but as one person who is as vehemently anti-official as I am, I must chime in. First off, I've seen quite a fair share of poorly officiated games. Interestingly enough, though, the worst officiated game I've ever witnessed (on TV) was not a UND game at all. It was now about 4 years back IIRC, Derek Shepherd was the official. It was Minnesota vs. MSUM. Calls all over the place that were flat out WRONG and not calling the most obvious penalties in the book. The UND-MN tilt this weekend had some disparaging stats (the PP totals for each team being such a discrepency is certainly one of them) but we won anyways. That being said, what bothers me isn't so much the calls that are called against UND is that seemingly the same thing that would get UND sent to the box isn't getting called on the other team when they commit the penalty. If UND commits a penalty, call it. Fine. I don't have to like the fact UND committed a penalty but that's hardly the official's fault. However, arbitrarily allowing penalties to go uncalled due to various situations or just not calling a penalty arbitrarily for whatever reason at all just doesn't cut it. And the worst thing about it at all is that the WCHA administration (McLeod and Shepherd) can't seem to get it into their heads that their officials lack accountability for bad performances. They dont' even think that they have bad games! To me, the problems with WCHA officiating isn't just bad officials. For me, it's hard to distinguish whether the official is that bad or is he just calling what the front office tells them to pay attention for. To me, its poor administration. If competant leadership were in place, the officials would know that they'd best not screw it up because that is grounds for losing pay and, worse yet, termination from the ranks of WCHA officiating. This also means getting their heads out of the sand and admitting that their perception of the officials might not be entirely accurate. Every official, even Adam, has a good point to them, but ignoring their faults is hardly the way to state that the quality of officiating is at an all time high. Fix the administration, then fix the staff. I remember when Campion used to call games very VERY well and suddenly he went south? Even before his wife's condition went the way it did, it was showing signs of poorness. Why? He didn't start out bad. Does the administration even know or care about this? The only solution to this problem is an extreme one thanks to the complete disregard for trust when it comes to the system. The answer is to dismiss McLeod and Shepherd and put someone in into each position who can try to right the ship. The WCHA is a good DI hockey conference that is only being held back from sheer greatness by the administration and the officiating crew. Lou Lamoriello took a mediocre hockey conference and made it great. That's what a good administrator does. WCHA desperately needs someone like Lou.

Found a picture of Bruce McLeod:

First off, I loved the article by Virg Foss. It is right on. McLeod needs to go as even he doesn't have a clue on accountability. Second, this dynasty thing doesn't phase me. Here's a few reasons why: 1. They are BUILDING a dynasty. That doesn't mean they have it. 2. For the first time in a long time SCSU homers (including their commentators) actually have a team worth getting excited about following. 3. For the first time since last year SCSU has had a coach who can indeed outcoach a coach in the WCHA. Dahl couldn't outcoach Goldie GOpher (forget about Lucia or Hakstol or anyone else). Let them be excited. They finally have a coach who doesn't suck.
-
I'm confused now. Since SCSU is ahead of us, is tying them a victory for us? However, since SCSU is typically a bottom feeder is a tie a loss for us? Should Hakstol be fired because of this performance tonight? is "proudsioux" still alive?
-
It clinches us home ice. That's all I know. No idea what that does for PWR but it shouldn't hurt us that much. Lammy was solid tonight, not saying he sucked. Just that Goephert didn't give up an especially weak goal.
-
1 point for the Sioux. SIoux clinch home ice. A good game, but I think Goephert just out plays Lammy. Why? Because Lammy gave up a weak goal. Otherwise I'd say a real humdinger of a game. Let's take 2 tommorrow!
-
ERic Fabian does something REALLY REALY stupid.
-
OT. Right now, it's SCSU that has the upper hand. So which OT crew will show up? The ones vs UMD or MSUM or the one vs DU?
-
Big 3 minutes and change coming up. We need some shots on goal! We definitely need to keep SCSU out of our zone. They've been rather dominant since scoring their 2nd goal.
-
I really love Chorney and Bina. They weren't afraid to take a shot on the Power Play.
-
D Shepherd gives UND a makeup call. Dey for holding.

Slashing on Kaip. TH calls it diving on Goephert. Let's go PK! (BTW, I'm really tired of that dork from Scheels)
