  1. I am sure a CNN reporter has an unnamed source so it is probably true.
  2. Although, Air Travel or any public transportation may become as issue?
  3. I figured UND would hang with them for awhile but would need some breaks down the stretch as our lack of depth would catch up with us. It looked like we didn't quite have our legs early as I think we were ready to play and a couple stats bear that out. We only had 6 turnovers and only gave up 3 offensive rebounds and we had normally reliable free throw shooters get us out to a 3-8 start at the line. As well as NDSU shot the ball I think even if we had our A game last night we probably lose by 6-10. It wasn't so much that they hit 8 of their first 10 threes and 13-25 for the night, it was that at least 7-8 of their makes came at the end of a possession where we had actually played good defense and not given them anything and then they hit the step back three with 2-3 seconds left on the shot clock....1-2 of those are deflating, 7-8 are soul crushing. Props to NDSU, they have a nice mix of talent and could cause some match up issues for teams if all 5 starters are hitting 3's and Vinnie and Ward are able to get to the rim as well. If they play an athletic team that plays man to man defense they could struggle but if they play a jump shooting zone playing squad they could spring an upset.
  4. The Blue pill is easy to swallow and even comes in a candy flavored chewable and no thought is required.
  5. You would think that the mouth breathing window lickers from NDSU would be at a higher exposure rate?
  6. Talked to Barry Melrose the next morning outside of the Embassy Suites as we were getting ready to head to the Twins game. He said that was a tough beat for UND because Michigan played the whole game not to lose and got away with it and he thought Michigan would be UND 1 time out of 10.
  7. I would not call that political. I posted an opinion(not really even an opinion at this point, but fact) that our media has a very apparent agenda and you attacked the President of the United States with false information you probably came across from the very organizations I was calling out.
  8. I am sure there will be a crowded bar near the arena where hockey fans can gather and watch the games.
  9. If we had a different President from a different political party right now and the W.H.O. and CDC reports were exactly the same as they have been, the media reports and hysteria would be a complete 180 from what they are right now.
  10. Something about a dog's ass and the sun comes to mind.
  11. I was there. it was terrible.
  12. Seems fair, but life isn't always fair. WMU is not a team that anyone would be excited to play in the NCAA tourney. If they do make it I hope they keep them the hell out of our region if they are a #3 seed. I am still bitter about our Boston U. game in the West Regional in Fargo.
  13. I'll say they got the call 95% wrong on Friday and 52% correct on Saturday.
  14. Some might say that South only took 12 shots in the EDC championship game.
  15. Sandy ends with 134 saves on 139 shots on goal by Davies this season.
  16. Should him a shirt with the new Mascot Mike on it.
  17. It is the hopeful, breathless reporting that is the hoax. The Virus is real. Our Governments handling of it is what is being misreported.
  18. Call me skeptical on this? Just didn't add up in my head. Didn't have time to run every school and conference so I chose the NCHC and WCHA as I figured the WCHA was probably one of the "oldest" conferences age wise. Average age of Seniors on roster. NCHC-23.16(CC-23.4, DU-23, Miami-23.3, UMD-23.2, UNO-22.8, UND-23.4, SCSU-23, WMU-23) WCHA-23.47(UAH-23.8, UAA-23.3, Alaska-23.7, Bemidji-23.7, BGU-23.2, Ferris-23.3, LSSU-23.8, Tech-23, Mankato-23.9, NMU-22.8)
  19. I always applaud the kid and family that make a good informed decision and don't let ego get in the way. A friends nephew finished his high school career in Minnesota. went to NAHL and USHL tryout camps. Had choice to play in NAHL or USHL. If he went with USHL team he would have started season as their 6th or 7th D-man. He played NAHL instead, 1st pair, Played point on #1 Power Play, Killed Penalties. Played the next year in USHL as a top 4 Dman, had a few college offers and had decided to play 1 more season in USHL and then got a late offer over the Summer from a more "prestigious" hockey school and had a nice 4 year career, got his degree and is now playing in the ECHL with a little AHL time. He will probably head to Europe after this season to see different parts of the world and put some money away.
  20. My original post was simply pointing out that yes Spooner and Rauhauser had things work out for them by staying in High School....but they had to play a couple additional years against better competition to elevate their games to the college level. 170+ and 150+ games respectively. Which is the path many take to college hockey, just recognizing the other side of the argument for kids leaving early to play against better competition. Every kid and family has their own best interests to look out for but my personal opinion is, stay home, play other sports, play with your lifelong friends and graduate from high school and then go from there. No need to be in a hurry to get to college. You are more mature as a player at 20 but also as a human being which can help on the academic side as well.
  21. The average age for a college hockey senior who played 2-3 years of junior hockey is 24.
  22. A little longer path as Rauhauser will turn 25 in March and Spooner will turn 24 in March.
