Sioux men win 74-53, pulling away after leading by 1 at halftime. Good job, that is a game they need to win.
On another note, is this line score correct???
## Player Name FG-FGA FG-FGA FT-FTA OF DE TOT PF TP A TO BLK S MIN

If this has already been pointed out, sorry. Was just curious as to why icing was not called with 1.8 seconds ot go in the game when scsu cleared the puck after the faceoff? The penalty was over and it was a 6 on 5 situation and they iced the puck. Not saying it cost us the game or anything, just wondering why it was not called?

NDSU. D1. Everyone kind of knew that football would be ok and competitive right away and they have. Most thought that men's bb would have the biggest struggles while women's bb would be competitive right away with the mid-majors. Well surprise, surprise, NDSU men's hoops has been a huge success and they put a good product on the floor while the women's program has been a failure and recruting has gone in the crapper.

take Langen, Kimbrough and Boese(who was 4-9) out of the mix and the rest of the team was 3-24???

"Should be"
Expecatations!!!
Have you seen any home games this year? Nothing is a given.
-
Shove it in my face later, but realistically 10-2 seems like a fantasy to me. A "bad" finish would be 8-4 down the stretch? I'd take 8-4 in a heartbeat. The Sioux are not an elite team right now. I firmly believe that they have the ingredients to be able to make a run at the end of the year and compete with anyone (size, speed, skill, goaltending), but they are just a regular competitive middle-of-the-pack WCHA team right now. In a neutral situation, I don't think there's a strong argument that they are any better than MSUM or SCSU. They might have a slight edge on UMD and MTU, but it's not gigantic. I'm basing my opinion on results recently and throughout the year. If the Sioux step it up and prove me wrong, I'll be enjoying it every step of the way.
I am just saying that 8 wins should be a given(home against mankato, scsu, umd, and tech). Splits on the road(where we have played pretty well) with DU and CC is what Hakstol needs to set as expectations for this team.
-
Currently
8-8-0 in wcha
15-10-1 overall
Mankato and St. Cloud at home
at Cc
Duluth at home
at DU
Tech at home
Good Finish(expected and attainable)
18-10 in wcha
25-12-1 overall
OK Finish
17-11 in WCHA
24-13-1 overall
Bad
16-12-0 in WCHA
23-14-1 overall
Ugly
Anything less.
We have 8 home games left and 4 road games left, win at home, split on the road. All home games have to be won(an OK finish would allow for 1 slip-up(UMD).
So with 36 points in conference, where do we finish?

All of you Fighting Sioux fans make me laugh, I mean your so narrowminded that you dont even aknowlege the fact that any team in the WCHA could be any other team on any given night, that is what makes it the best College Hockey League. Now as for the Gopher fans being in big trouble, I mean come on are you really that stupid? Your Sioux or what ever they are called, got beat twice in their backyard this year already and by NO means does that mean that the Sioux are going to win two from the Gophs in their backyard. Lets get real, you got swept by the Gophs, then you almost got handled by Harvard, but it was a split, and then you split with Alaska-Anchorage, that's not a very good streak to be on when you are heading into the "Gopher Den"! Dont get me wrong I'm not saying that the Sioux will get swept again, they have a very good chance to win one, but there is no way that they will sweep the Gophers in Minn. And as for you Sioux fans saying that their whole team is Ryan Potulney and Danny Irmen, two ND boys, and one GF boy, well that is just ludacrist! And tell me this, if the "Ralph" is such a great rink, and the Sioux are so good, well why did they go to Minn. then? Could it be because they want to win a National Championship before they graduate from college? I think so!! Good luck this weekend to the Sioux, they will need it!!
Nicely done!!!!
I couldn't have done that better myself if I was to make up another identity on siouxsports.com, post some ridiculous babbling semi-coherent rambling all just for the entertainment value of the regular readers and sioux fans on this board in hoping that they, after reading this think all gopher fans are in-bred morons. Very well done gopher-domination! very well done. After the weekend, you should let us know your true Sioux fan identity and we will all have a good laugh.

Yeah, kind of a chintzly call against Harrington at the end of the game. All Harrington did was get ragdolled and thrown around a bit and then dumped.
-
Capricious. I love that word.
-
Crap. Looks like we are getting a delay of the 3rd place game instead of the Championship game here in Fargo. Might have to go to Wild Wings to watch the Canada/Russia game.
-
Am I the only one who had no problem with what Johnson did at the end of the game? He is trailing the play on an obvious empty net game sealing goal, the kid from Canada is chirping and slashes him 2 or 3 times....what reaction was he looking to get out of him? Old Time Hockey(Eddie Shore, Gordie Howe Elbow, our line skates coach?). If you act like a punk, you might get punked.

Good point regarding Solich. I would like to add that if Callahan does not improve on the 8 win season next year he will probably be out of work.
Callahan should have been fired on the sideline during the Kansas State game. The second that Harrison Beck took a snap from center in the 4th quarter of the 10th game of his redshirt season.

If I remember, Bourque didn't play much last year due to injury.

True. the Russians acted like NBA thugs.
-
A lot of Americans cheered against Canada last year, until they played Russia(hard to cheer for cocky no class players)

Canada leads 2-0 over Finland after 1. Toews is on first line!

What are the hotels located in the area around Mariucci, Stub-n-herbs and Sallies? Thanks

South beat Bismarck High tonight 3-1 after trailing 1-0 after the first period. Shots in the 1st favored South 15-2. In the second South outshot Bismarck 22-1 but the game remained tied 1-1. South added two in the third to finish the scoring. Not sure what shots were in the third but it was one sided just like the first two. Bismarck goalie Michel Hillman was in the zone and kept Bismarck in the game. I would expect to see him with over 50 saves when the box score comes out tomorrow. For Bismarck Ross Monson scored the opening goal when he got behind the South defensemen. Justin Connell had a good game. Reis on defense looked good and so did Will Aide at forward. Bismarck played a good game despite being outmanned. South showed their usual team speed and good puck movement. Mcdougall put in the first two goals for south and Paul Weisgarber got the final one on a 5 on 3 (I think). Overall it was a good game although I am sure the South players are frustrated because Hillman was able to keep the score under control. If Bismarck can duplicate that type of effort they should be in every game out West and may rise to the top of the standings if they can generate more offense than they did tonight. The game should be a great tuneup for their game with Century.
Was also at the game. Final shots ended up 57-4 in favor of South. could easily have been 12 or 13 to 1.

What a crazy trick -- bundle Robert Morris tickets with Sioux tickets. It'll be the first Robert Morris road sellout ever...
I passed on that package "deal". I think I'll pass on the Robert Morris series for $5 a ticket since I paid a grand total of $10 for 3 tickets(1 friday night and 2 on Saturday) for the sioux -Huskie series.

Here is the funny thing to all of this Vanek is playing on the PK in Buffalo, I have watched the Sabres play a few times this season and there he was on the ice for the PK against the Wild.
Actually Vanek logged exactly 0 minutes and 0 seconds while the Sabres were shorthanded on sunday night against the wild.
For the year Thomas had been on the ice a total of 3:55 while the sabres are shorthanded or about 7 seconds a game.

Shepard is horrible, has been forever, both teams know that going in. For him it is like every game is his first and he is still trying to figure the game out?
But apparently the linesmen are afraid to call anything against "the don" since they don't want to get suspended. But Saturday their were 3 ridiculous too many men calls missed that everyone except the linesman saw. First one was on a sioux pp, gophs break in 2 on 1 and when the sioux are coming back the other way, the gopher player was about halfway between the blue line and center ice and his replacement jumped the bench at the other blue line, opposite side linesman had to see it, but ignored it. 2nd one was on a line change and the linesman had both players on each side of him when the puck was played by the gophs, literally 3 inches away from him. The last one was not even explainable, gophs had 7 or 8 on the ice for about 4 or 5 seconds.

Last season, Wisconsin would have benefitted more by losing the WCHA playoff series with UAA since doing so would have boosted UAA's record and boosted them into tuc status.
