  1. Believe me, on the SLN it isn't one person. It's a significant amount of people. Alot of these people, including myself, are educated. More importantly, most of the elders are opposed to the name. On any rez, the opinion of the elders is held in the highest regard.

Well, then you certainly wouldn't mind if the issue was put to a vote of the people on the reservation then? I have friends there who tell me that a vote would come out at about 75-25 in favor so why don't we find out how people really feel about it?

  2. The combination of being 10-1, winning the conference title, being ranked in the top 10, and being denied the opportunity to compete for a National title when you would have easily got an invite had you been eligible . . . the combination warranted rings.

The GWFC title was not the only reason for the rings.

umm. Nice try, but nope. It does cheapen the rings that have been legitimately won and earned by some great bison teams of the past though. I would even MAYBE concede that if you had gone 11-0 and been number one in the final polls then MAYBE it would have been acceptable.

  3. You guys might want to check this out... I heard about this on Facebook (go figure) and had to research to find any other information, and this is all I found.

Well if that doesn't prove that all these guys care about is themselves and hockey and boozin I don't know what does? What a bunch of jerks. :silly:

  4. Great game if you have NHL Center Ice online as well! Lee is a plus 1 so far as he was on ice for the Senator goal, then got picked at the Blueline on his next shift which led to a near goal for The Penguins.

  5. Brooklynn's was a blast on Thursday! A couple buddies were in their on Wednesday night and the place was empty and they were talking to a bartender and manager and they mentioned the Sioux gathering on Thursday and they asked if many people would show up and mentioned that "we have the upstairs reserved for that" to which my friend informed them that if that was what they were expecting that they were totally unprepared!

Sioux performance was disappointing to say the least only made somewhat bearable by the fact that we secured a suite for the games and we took full advantage. Hit a couple bars back by our hotel in the Tech area and those stories are probably best not posted here.

The embassy Suites was a great place to stay and I have never been at a manager's reception at one of their locations where they so aggressively gave away free booze. Hit a BWW for the Wild game and got a few looks from the locals when we kind of forgot where we were when the Wild scored to win it.

Went to Brooklynn's again after we watched the Title game and polished off the remainder of the $3k worth of pre-ordered liquor and beer in our suite. Met some cool fans from Merrimack after the game and then we capped it off at Red Square(a very cool vodka bar). The only bad part on Saturday night was seeing the stupid attention starved "alleged" Sioux fan with the paper bag on her head(go away, you don't get it and never will and we don't need you in our fan base)

Time for a little detox and hopefully the Sioux can get another kick at the can in 09!

  6. Anyone who thinks the top CCHA teams are anything but good is in denial.....but the bottom of that league is terrible and give up a ton of goals. Half the teams in that conference gave up more goals than UAA in the WCHA who gave up the most.

So do I think if UND and CC and the top offensive teams in the WCHA would light up the bottom teams in the CCHA to the tune of 5 and 6 goals an outing? Yep. Translated, Oshie and Duncan and others would have similar offensive numbers against that competition and if Porter and Kolarick and Jones had to face WCHA teams and officiating night in and and night out their teams would be successful but their numbers would be way down.

Should Lammy have been one of the final 3? Probably but he wasn't, so move on. I know 3 awards left for Lammy and the Sioux to shoot for.

    In order:

    NCAA championship

    Frozen 4 All Tourney

    Frozen 4 MVP

And if we get the first one, the 2nd and 3rd will take care of themselves.

  7. I am going to Florida on Friday for a little fun and sun and then flying from there into Denver on thursday morning.

Got a room at the Embassy Suites(not the one on the frozen 4 site) for $109/night, not sure if they have any more openings but it is about a mile from the 4 points sheraton where the Sioux charter fan group is staying.

My group is still working out all the logistics(how many people will be in the suite(16 tickets) and the ordering of the beer, liquor and food etc.), but we have secured a suite for the games! and I will let the people on sioux sports know if any spots may be open there for anyone who may be interested.

On another note I am watching 3 NHL games on my computer right now and just watched Chelios deliver not 1, not 2, but 7 crosschecks in a row to Patrick Kane. Poor kid didn't know what to do.

  8. Both were clean hits. Osh is still not 100%. Jess Meyers is an idiot if he thinks this is news worthy!

All teams have fans that don't know the rules. Add beer goggles and the "homerism" comes out even more.

Why can't we call diving, diving? Embelishment is just a waste of a syllable!

I have to disagree with you here. Eric Kaufman's performance of the rarely attempted 540 degree spin probably deserves an entire paragraph let alone an extra syallable! That was special!

  9. Yep, both good clean hits and I heard the Sioux fans wanting the calls as well. I expect it from the Gopher rubes every time a guy falls down but was disappointed in UND fans not appreciating good clean hits.....kinda like Porter"s and Finley's great hits against BC last year in the, oh wait those were called penalties.

  10. Good for Rich Glas! He still wants to coach and for a guy with as many years in the game as he has, he is still a pretty young guy. I admit that I thought maybe it was time for Rich to leave UND, but I think that the people who forget his accomplishments and what he did for UND basketball and the UND athletic program overall should maybe reflect on his career a little bit.

Dave Gunther was in a similar position when Glas took over for him and he had also maybe gone a little stale at UND after many years, but he also still had a desire to coach and did so.

They both did alot for UND in developing great leaders on and off the court and should be remembered for doing so! Hopefully in 15 years we are talking about Jones in the same regard.
