  1. Heard Glas on kfgo 790 tonight. Basically said that when you sit down and look at UND's place in athletics you have to ask does UND belong with NDSU, SDSU, Montana, etc. when looking at what level of play and athlete we are trying to attract at UND versus and there is nothing against them, but do we strive to be on a level with Moorhead st., bemidji, crookston, etc. From his tone there is no question that he is leaning toward moving towards moving the UND athletic programs in the D1 direction. He did say that everything was great as far as BB was concerned until the bison and jacks chose to leave D2 and he is of the belief that in order to maintain fan interest and a better quality of ball that UND should probably follow suit. :silly:

  2. Bisonguy,

I cannot believe you would question Pat Sweeney's vast football knowledge. :D We in the valley should count our blessings and just be thankful that he has not moved on to ESPN or Fox Sports Net....I am sure he has had several offers. :silly:

  3. Went to the Evertblades game tonight!(My brother moved to Ft. Myers and I am down playing a little golf, hope the weather is shi&&y back in ND). Everblades beat The Mississippi Sea Wolves 6-3 tonight. Tim O'Connell had a solid game and David Lundbohm had a great game(1 goal, 1 assist, and created several opportunities). Notorious tough guy Chris Cava cheapshotted O'Connell with his team down 5-3 and with the penalty called and the opportunity to even it up(Timmy dropped em and was wanting to kick his a$$, Cava cowardly and quickly skated to the box, what a pu$$y)

  4. Yes. And I actually overlooked another team who is ranked #5 in the country.

    based upon mratings

GVSU #1 in country, #3 in region

UND #3 in country, #2 in region

    Northwood #2, #1

    SCSU #7, #4

    Mich. Tech #8, #5

    Saginaw #5, #6

    Ferris #12, #9

    Winona #23, #7

    W. Washington #26, #8

Only 6 of these teams will make the playoffs and then they will have to beat each other up while the other regions top team will have a relativley easy trip to the semi's. The southwest region is kind of tough as well with 5 teams ranked in the top 19 in the country. The highest ranked team in the Souteast is #9 and in the northeast #11. Does anyone know which regions play each other this year in the semi's?

  5. Great,

So the #1,2,3,7, and 8 teams in the country are all in the same region. Hey I have an idea why don't we have them play each other in the playoffs so that whoever comes out of this region will win their semi-final and then championship game by about 20 points....makes sense to me. :D What? Oh you mean that the NCAA D2 already does that? Never mind then. :D

  6. Go back to the first year intro, of the Sioux capping off their 7 national titles, splice in some big hits. You could see that as the year went on, some teams would try not to look up at the board(probably told by their coaches not too....other coaches probably told them about it after there teams were in awe of it.) The intro they used that year is better than anything they have used since.

  7. Any thoughts about what US born players will be representing the USA in the 2006 Olympics? It does not seem like there are alot of no doubt future stars in the pipeline right now? I went to the US/Finland game the other night and afterwards we were talking about who the US has up and coming to take the place of some of the older players on the team. :p We had a hard time coming up with quality players in the NHL from the US. Chelios was our best defenseman on the ice and he is 42. Leetch looked horrible. Miller and Martin looked OK(although a bit shaky at times). Anyone want to speculate on what the US team might look like in a couple years.

  8. Yeah Ballard and Blake are pretty similar in the behind the play agitate kind of stuff. I did not see all the gophs games this year, so I don't know if Taylor can fight or not, but with the crap he pulls, he will have to. I think he obviously has the size and potential to be a rugged nhl blueliner.
