  1. I would obviously like UND to win it all. As for an alternate, all I'll say is that at the beginning of the season I placed five bets on five different teams to win the championship, at the following odds: UND +1800 UConn + 5000 Michigan +900 Denver +1500 Wisconsin +6000 So yeah, outside of UND winning, I do sort of have an order of preference.
  2. I prefer not to say. My father bought two of them, including the 1982 banner for me. Two others were purchased by a close friend of his. The fifth, the 1980 banner, was purchased by Tim Shea of Tim Shea's Nursery in Grand Forks, and I think he had it hanging in their business.
  3. I do not. I always tried to sit in what I considered to be my "lucky" seat, Section C, Row 12, Seat 7. It was in the corner, on the student side, so what I imagine was the NE corner of the old REA? By the time the team moved to the new arena, I had long since departed the Grand Forks area, so I never got a chance at any arena memorabilia. I got lucky on the banner because my dad was at the sale.
  4. I was. 1980-1987. And, as I’ve posted here before, I have the original 1982 championship banner from when they auctioned them off following the 1997 flood. Still my favorite team.
  5. I don't care what the scoreboard says. I'm only one point behind jimdahl, and he's the smartest guy on this forum, so I'm going with that.
  6. Gino, Hak and BB all made the championship game too.
  7. There is a chance this Frozen Four will feature the four programs with the most championships.
  8. Borek was pretty upset after the game. The post game press conference link is below. In it he talks about having to beat the "third team," and how they were really hoping for a power play, but I guess that doesn't happen "out west." He then remembered that they got one, and said "thanks for that, I guess." I'm guessing Jax doesn't reveal what was said, because it's probably not going to be too flattering to another coach. https://www.themackreport.com/p/postgame-press-conference-following
  9. The 2034 gopher recruit class is wondering the same thing.
  10. Three regular season conference champs. Not going to be easy.
  11. Good learning experience for KV. In the playoffs you can’t try to do too much. Just make one simple play after another.
  12. They had 12 freshmen and 9 sophomores on the roster this year. And they apparently have 11 recruits coming in, according to something I read (although Heisenberg only lists 9). Something has to give.
  13. 2005 in Columbus
  14. Not a super big fan of playing Augie in Sioux Falls. Pretty tough goaltender. I do like the NCHC teams at 2, 4, 6 and 8, though. With perfect bracket integrity, none of them would match up against each other until the Frozen Four.
  15. Hearing reports that Boisvert is a health scratch tonight for BU. Tough way to end a college career for a first rounder, if true.
  16. I listened to that podcast interview this weekend, and only one thought immediately sprang to mind. It would probably be impossible to find two more arrogant people in the college hockey world blathering on for over an hour than those two. I mean Carle has had great success, so maybe he has earned his arrogance, but as they say, pride comes before the fall. "We don't spend much time thinking about the portal because when guys leave here, they leave to cash checks in the NHL." What, did he say that two or three times? Ok, bub.
  17. Does a #1 overall seed move us out of Sioux Falls? If Augie makes it, they’d like them there, and they like the #1 seed to get the worst team, which Augie won’t be.
  18. There is a big gap in NPI points between us and #2 Michigan (1.46 points). That's the same gap as between #8 Denver and #15 Wisconsin.
  19. We would still be #3, but our NPI would be a lot closer to Michigan and MSU. As it is now, we have pretty much no chance to move higher than #3
  20. The other thing to remember is that there is a bonus that comes with beating any team with a 51 or higher in the NPI. Every single one of BC's final six games are against teams at or higher than 51, so I disagree with the idea that their remaining games won't really "move the needle" much. Also, three of them are on the road. Do I expect BC to run the table? No. But I think they'll win enough of them that combined with any wins in the HE playoffs, will be enough to jump them to the #9-11 spot as I hypothesized.
  21. I think the way the customizer works is that it assumes the outcomes of all of the other unplayed games (where I don't put in the exact outcome) and makes those assumptions based upon KRACH or maybe a monte carlo simulation of some sort. That's not to say that if BC ran the table they would absolutely be #8. It's just that #8 is the most likely spot if they run the table in the regular season. I've personally played around with it during the second half of this season and at least on a week to week basis, it's pretty good about predicting where a team will end up depending upon that weekend's games.
  22. The CHN customizer puts them at #8 if they run the table in the regular season games.
  23. Just my guess, but I don't expect BC to be anywhere near the bubble. They're playing pretty decent hockey and they have a ton of regular season games left, plus the playoffs. I expect BC to be in the #9-11 range in the NPI by the time selection Sunday rolls around. Personally, I also expect them to have the Hockey East autobid.
  24. I would guess that 5 of those 10 seasons we were a lock to make the tournament in February.
