If he goes, he goes, and I'll wish him well. I never fault any of these kids for making decisions about what they think will be best for them.

Certainly paid off ten years ago in Madison when Mike Eaves was fired, and twelve years ago in East Lansing when Rick Comley was forced out by a disgruntled fan base.

I was really impressed with him in that interview, and by what he said about the pairwise. -
I'm actually cheering for DU. I think David Carle is about two years from an NHL deal, and a championship this year will only hasten that.
-
Yep, certainly some talent on that team. Offensively, though, this years team was better. But defensively we were way better in ‘16. A 1.66 gaa by your primary goalie will take you along way. But maybe one our better d-corps.

We won a championship game with Coltyn Sanderson and Johnny Simonson playing center. They collectively had 16 goals over the course of eight years on the team.

I'd be curious to see how often the team that appears to have the most talent actually wins the title. I think back on some of the absolutely loaded teams in college hockey over the last twenty years. UND and MN during the mid-2000's, with a handful of first rounders on each team. BU in 2017 or 2018, where people were wondering whether they'd even lose a game because of the first round talent. Michigan a couple of years ago. BC may win it all this year, but that one will be the exception, more than the rule, in my book. I've often commented that I think Dean Blais' three best teams at UND were the '98, '99 and '04 teams, and they did literally nothing in the post-season. I don't think any of them won the WCHA tournament, and they certainly went nowhere in the NCAA's.

Seems that World Junior coaching gig may have had a payoff.

I was curious about a couple of things, including the post that you quoted, as well as another that asked whether anyone has achieved less with more than UND. If you look at the first round draft picks who played college hockey, all time, the numbers break down like this: Michigan - 33 Minnesota - 26 BC - 25 Bu - 23 UND - 20 Wis - 18 DU - 4 Yeah, that's right. DU has four. It's even funnier when you see how many some of these teams have had since they last won a national championship: Michigan (27), Minnesota (19), BU (14), Wis (12), BC (11), UND (2), DU (0). Now, one of these teams might very well win this year, with some first round picks on their team. But it's pretty hard to say that UND has done the least with the most.

What’s with the whole “10” thing. Is it like playground basketball, game over, disband college hockey has a sport?
-
People’s expectations aren’t low. But they’re not unreasonable either. There are probably seven premier college hockey programs (BC, BU, MN, MI, WI, DU and UND). Only DU has won a title since our last. We were basically a top 5-6 team all year, when we had a lot of turnover. We have some very good recruits in the pipeline. Seems premature to jump off the bridge.

I don’t really get all the bitterness. This could be a fantastic Frozen Four. A ton of talent. Yeah, I wish UND was there, but as a college hockey fan this beats the crap out of an RIT, QU, Cornell, WMU Frozen Four.

Top three in pwr are in Frozen Four. Hard to say it isn’t accurate

I think one of the big keys next year will be how dynamic, offensively, Strathman and Emery can be, and how quickly they get there. I’ve always believed that the 2016 championship was more about the deep puck moving and passing skill we had on the blue line than it was about one top forward line. -
I have a chance to end up with just one wrong (Cornell over Maine), but I’m already mathematically eliminated.

So, maybe a route of Michigan, Michigan State, BC, then BU to #9? Seems doable. -
Three straight losses, all 3-2 in OT. Pretty unusual

Here are my questions for the jersey experts. Were the Gemini jerseys just used for one season? Other than obviously the manufacturer and swoosh, what were the style or color differences between the Gemini’s and the Nike’s that followed for the next handful of seasons? Thanks.

Thought his insults hurled at UND, AIC, Lindenwood and Johannes regarding academics were completely out of line and unprofessional for someone in that position.
-
They don't have a game between December 9 and January 12. They may have seen this coming.

Has anyone figured out what ND's record is with Dave B. singing the Anthem? If it's great, maybe we use him like Philly used Kate Smith and God Bless America, you know, trot him out whenever we need a big win at home. -
Michigan has been having some injury woes. McGroarty, one of their early season goalscoring leaders, missed at least one game this past weekend. I also think they were playing some d-men up front. If anyone can screw it up for the NCHC, it's SCSU. However, they seem to be playing a bit better, and maybe they're catching Michigan at a good time. Plus, they're at home.
-
An opportunity for the NCHC to do a little pairwise damage this weekend. 12 games, ten of which are at home.

Just roll a handful of fans in bumper ball costumes out there for five minutes, then drop the puck.
