  1. Agreed. I think one thing that might keep Schmaltz here is that he realized how much better he got this past offseason. He's bigger and can take hits, now. Boeser needs this, too. Schmaltz will be an absolute freak with one more offseason in Grand Forks. Those two with Jost, who might, right now, already be a better finisher than Cag.... woof. Banner No. 9, for sure Getting ahead of ourselves, a bit, but it sure is fun .... LOTS of big things left to accomplish. I think we all realize this has the makings of a really special year. Strap in!
  2. Yeah, now that you mention it, all three could be considered a getter, because the all backcheck like demons, play well in the corners and in the neutral zone. If I HAD to peg it... I think I'd say Boeser = netter (purest scorer of the three), Schmaltz (purest playmaker of the three) = setter and Drake = getter (effort guy that is always moving)... lol that's tough to do, with this line.
  3. I think this line closely resembles the CBS line in terms of the basic "Netter-setter-getter" thought.
  4. I completely agree with everything you said, I am just not sure either will stay. If I had to predict, I'd think Boeser is here next season and Schmaltz is not. I hope I am right on Boeser and wrong on Schmaltz. As has been said a bunch on here, let's enjoy this ride. We are truly seeing a special group of players on this line and the rest of the team.
  5. I'd think we'll get at least one more from Boeser. He's gotta get better at skating, IMO. I thought for sure we'd get three from Schmaltz after an up and down rookie year, but he might be the best player this year, so far, in the NCHC. What a first half that kid has had.
  6. See?! That's not terrible at all! The first one posted was. This is just fine.
  7. I didn't like it, but evidentry it's the font of the new generation... anyone catch the reference? (Trying to make light to move everything along)
  8. Again, all because I didn't like a font.
  9. He directly said YOU will live a better life. I think my frustrated response was completely fair. This all came about after I said I didn't like THAT shirt. Then, five posts later, I said I liked a particular shirt. My response was a direct response to having my fandom and loyalty question because I didn't like a flippin shirt. That is just wrong and rude.
  10. He questioned my choice to continue to wear Sioux gear, but I can't question his use of Sioux in his forum name. Got it. Alright, good. Writing this down... Sioux shirt = bad life, not true fan... Sioux forum name = good life, true fan.
  11. Lol did I? Where? He clearly questioned mine because I don't like the look of that shirt. I'm just trying to get in the "true fan" club. Do I have to buy this shirt?? If I do buy the shirt, does that mean I don't have to change my forum name? Just trying to get on board, to make my life better.
  12. So, when will you change your forum name? Evidently, you're not in the "true fan" category yet. Siouxperfan7.... So, do you become F'nHawksfan7, now? That's a shame because now the cleverness and originality of your current tag kind of fades, eh? See how ridiculous this all is? What are we doing? "The sooner you accept the new name and eventual logo, the better off you will be." Did you read that before you sent that? Holy smokes. Better off??? It's a FRICKIN' nickname. What the h-e- double hockey sticks are we doing?!?! The better off I will be? As if I buy a F'nHawks shirt, that I do not enjoy, my life will somehow be better? Everyone step away from the lectern and off the soapbox. Attempting to belittle someone over a nickname preference? This is incredible stuff. You know what I'm gonna do? Keep on wearing my Sioux gear just because of the kind of garbage you just spewed. And you know is what it's going to hurt? Nothing. Nothing at all.
  13. Wait, wait, wait.... I thought you had to?!?! Now I'm all confused
  14. I'm asking why it matters. I'm still going to go to games, buy North Dakota gear, donate to the school, but AT THIS POINT (again, this can change), I don't want to support the name. Tell me what's the crime in that. Please.
  15. So it's a pre-req to be a "true fan" of the university to "suck it up and own the name"? Roger. I'll get right on that. Why does it have to be like this?? Can't I just be upset and still support my school? I thought I was doing that, but evidently not. Cripes.
  16. Completely fine with the second one. The first one has that same awful font.
  17. Completely agree. That meh font shirt is the first impression and to me, it's not good. Seems rushed.
  18. Thank you! That's all I'm saying. I wouldn't buy THIS SHIRT because THAT SHIRT looks awful. Cheap may be the wrong choice of words. Underwhelming? Bleh? Meh? I'm completely fine with buying a Fighting Hawks whatever in the future if the logo is decent and the font isn't that ugly.
  19. Exactly! Just a cheap and poorly made first impression, IMO.
  20. Pretending it doesn't exist and not buying a shirt with a new name on it are completely different ideas. Despite having full understanding that this name is going nowhere, I still think that shirt looks like garbage and won't buy it. Looks like something they just slapped together for Christmas to make some extra money. Not a good first impression, for me.
  21. "Cool" or not, I think that shirt looks terrible. It's a font thing, not a name thing. You seem to have left out the line directly following saying that I am hopeful for a new logo looking good. And someone said that it would? C'mon. What's so hard to understand about people not wanting to buy the new gear? It may be an easy transition for you, but for others, it is not.
  22. Yuck. That font is no good. My guess is that that font won't be connected to the official logo. Just random letters slapped on to get a couple shirts sold. Color me optimistic, but I am looking forward to see what they come up with for a new logo. Although I am nervous of it being horrendously generic, I think it does have a lot of potential.
