  1. Hahaha welcome to Sioux Sports. We are the kings of the tangent. Our second line of Rhett Gardner, Luke Johnson and Austin Poganski are big boys that play very physical, but all bring good scoring punch. Poganski and Gardner in particular are dominant in front of the net. Johnson shoots from all angles and the other two try and bang rebounds. Our third and fourth lines have players that can score. Bryn Chyzyk has a great shot in space, Shane Gersich has game-breaking speed, Coltyn Sanderson has shown a good around the net scoring punch in the second half and Joel Janatuienen is a hard working, two-way player. I'd take note of our d-corps. Troy Stecher and Tucker Poolman both have dominant playmaking ability. Stecher might be the best player on this team and that includes the CBS line. He does everything for this team. Hope that helps.... and makes you nervous
  2. Thanks! I appreciate appreciate the read.
  3. Do tell about our culture. Winning a national championship is No. 1 on this program's mind year in and year out.
  4. DDC couldn't wait any longer. Here we go. It's tournament time. http://daddydumpandchase.blogspot.com/2016/03/ncaa-tournament-mw-regional-from-queen.html?m=1
  5. I don't get why everyone is thinking our norm is somehow blown away with one poor weekend. This team is giving up 1.85 goals a game. We can shut them down just like anyone else in the country. That being said.... I'll take 5 haha
  6. I tried to look for it for my blog, but couldn't find a replay.
  7. What about it? Their 30 wins or their 6 losses? I just don't understand why people are less confident in this team than in recent years. Just SO much more talent on this squad.
  8. How often are teams really put in "win or go home" games before the NCAAs, though? Two years ago is the only team I can think of in recent memory.
  9. Ugh.... Target Center. DDC takes a look at another interesting weekend at the Frozen Faceoff for UND. bit.ly/21GVfZ3
  10. We wouldn't have gotten the X unless St. Clown lost and that didn't happen. I understand your point and your concern, for that matter. Just let the year as a whole speak for itself. Every piece is there, just gotta get it done.
  11. We have lost in the X and recently just won a Cincy regional (13-14?) .... Long story short.... let's GO.
  12. On neutral ice, the best team usually wins. We'll see if we are. I have confidence that a 30-6-4 season isn't simply a mirage.
  13. You noticed a lack of urgency because there was truly no huge reason to play urgently. Absolutely Duey would have played if it weren't the third place game.
  14. I watched both games. It happened the last two years and we went to the Frozen Four both weekends following. Of those three teams, this one is FAR AND AWAY the most talented. I don't understand. What happened in MPLS this past weekend? UND lost to a team who had everything to lose in a game that realistically meant nothing and tied a team when both really didn't care to be there. I saw parts in both games that we played very well and with it now being one-and-done, I'd be surprised to see anything less than our best.
  15. Nope. And I have a S6, too.
  16. Oh my god, soooo true, UGH. I was losing my mind at the TC.
  17. WELCOME! - Haha I don't think any of us did this as a slight, btw. I know I didn't. We evidently are just fond of directions here in North Dakota - We all appreciate your sentiment about the Sioux logo. We all miss it, dearly. - As for your fanbase considering them being the favorite, I am just telling you what I've seen on Twitter. I'm sure it's an even split. Nothing wrong with being confident as I know our fanbase is. - Most, if not all of us, are going off of stats. So, I for one, appreciate the clarification. You guys are as about as hot as it gets. - Last point, outside of maybe BC, we are the best team defense that NU has seen during this 23 game stretch. I have no doubt in my mind. If you can beat us, it will because you found a way to beat us to the slot and won battles down low. Good luck to you and your fans! Can't wait for Friday. Cheers.
  18. Team Defense: UND -- 3rd, 1.85 Notre Dame -- 14th, 2.31 Northeastern -- 20th, 2.48 Michigan -- 38th, 3.00 Team's GAA for goalies: UND -- Cam, 1.64, 2nd Notre Dame -- Cal Petersen, 2.19, 24th Northeastern -- Ryan Ruck, 2.26, 26th Michigan -- Steve Racine, 2.89, 55th UND's two Frozen Faceoff opponents: UMD -- 8th, 2.05, Kaskisuo, 11th, 1.93 DU -- 13th, 2.29, Cowley, 19th, 2.07 Particularly against Duluth, we had no chance to get through the middle. We'll see how this goes against NE. The last two games, we played two teams who were better and two goalies who are statistically much better. I'd expect to see more space, but again, we just need to bury. Bury early and bury the Pups.
  19. I agree. If anyone can find space in the playoffs, it will be the CBS. I don't believe NE is the most defensively sound team and I know we are going to get our chances. HAVE TO bury them, unlike the entire Frozen Faceoff.
  20. I love it! Somehow we've become the underdog. Bring it, puppies.
  21. That first goal stat stands out to me big time. Jump early, jump often, step on the throat.
  22. Absolutely. Agree 100%. I don't think it was for lack of trying. Duluth had three at the red and we couldn't get rolling through the middle. Had to dump and stay wide and boy did they plug up the middle again when we did get in. I'd expect that NE won't have that kind of D. I could be wrong, but UMD is a great defensive team, IMO. I think we play pretty hard and fast, too .... For a team that's hyped up and ready to take down Goliath (a bit tongue in cheek since they are somehow the "favorites" to beat us, by everyone out east) we can beat them deep while they are looking for offense.
  23. Has anyone seen NE play? I caught like a period and a half of the Beanpot game of theirs against BU. Man, everyone on Twitter from the East is just burying the NCHC and UND. I love it. I love every bit of it.
  24. Ugh, I'm such a homer. I have filled out three brackets thus far and I just CANNOT bring myself to put anyone else on that National Champion line. I want to do it for the sake of improving my money chance. I just can't do it. For the first time since the Pony Express, I can not only see it happening, I really feel like we are the odds on favorite. Gonna be a long week. I can't wait.
