I really, really don't want to play Duluth.

Anyone see the NSCC game with UMD/Clown? I was not impressed with them when we swept, but I have barely seen them since. I know the Huskies are in desperation mode like us, and frankly, they probably "need" these games more than we do, but I think the boys are sick of their inconsistency. Get the Ralph rockin' early and get the Pups on the run. 5-2 UND ... I think Jost will play (no insight, just a hunch) so I'll give him one, Boeser (buddy, we need you -- find those legs), Hoff, Shaw and Gersich.
-
With a lot of opportunity for wins in our remaining schedule, a sweep would be so big. SO much momentum
-
Seems fair. Tough to call anything but a split when we've been so inconsistent.
-
HAHAHAHA well played!!!

I feel like the 14-15 guys had one thing that this year's squad needs desperately ... leadership. They had a group of seniors who had been through it all and had four years of buying in to the life at UND. They had ups and downs, not just the ups like the freshmen from last year. Those seniors had seen it all.

In a do-or-die 1 game and out setting? You definitely cannot. We get in the tournament and we have as good a chance of ANYONE in the tournament, regardless of seed, of getting to Chicago. We've all said it a bunch, we've seen this team at its best and at that level, we can compete with anyone. Toss in a home crowd in a raucous atmosphere, we have a d@mn good shot.

It was a stream of consciousness kind of thing, but it did bring me back good memories
-
I 100% with you, btw. I was just speaking of precedence and what they have always done. Didn't mean to come off condescending if I did. Hahaha, right. I think with the small size of the tournament, they try to stick to the formula as much as possible.
-
He's just overthinking the logic. Yes, we all agree it's silly to end BU to Fargo, but they want to protect the intraconference thing.
-
Well, that changed them from a No. 16 to a No. 15, which is still a Four seed playing a 1. They always try and protect the No. 1 overall seed and pair them with the 16, but they have changed that a couple times. What you were saying was flipping a team into a band of rankings (from a 3 to a 2) and that I don't see happening.
-
Of course, since we are talking about PairWise. I doubt we'd be talking about this if we all thought we had no chance of getting in. EDIT: I misread and now understand what you meant. We can absolutely get in with more than a four seed. We have the No. 1 SOS last time I checked, or at least a Top 3... we can move way up with wins.
-
Again, yes. Your logic is spot on, but it's the way they've done it.
-
To avoid intraconference matchup, yes, that's the precedence.
-
This. Yup, I'd be surprised if they didn't avoid the matchup.
-
I'd be pretty surprised to see them flip our seed like that. Has that ever happened? Honestly not being confrontational, but do you remember this ever happening? Only thing close I can think of is when Wisconsin made the tourney when they were below .500 but hosted the regional at the Kohl Center. We beat them anyway ... Since then they added that under .500 rule. That's not really the same situation here, I guess.
-
I'd say yes. Again, not sure, but the precedent is there. My impression was, and from what Debbies just put on the thread, was that they will do everything they can to avoid the first round, intraconference matchup. That can happen by not putting DU or UMD in Fargo. If Western is a No. 1, too, that blows this discussion up because they'd have to have one if UND is a No. 4 seed.
-
You sure about that? I kid, I kid
-
RAHHHH someone "attacked" my idea and said it was "wrong." RAHHHHH I need to overreact lol. Oxbow, I absolutely see what you're saying, btw, I just want to know what they prefer. Precedent looks like they'd try and avoid the intraconference matchups.
-
LOL you're the only speaking about this that seems to be certain. "WILL BE IN FARGO" All he did was ask if you were sure about it. Why is that so controversial? Your logic is absolutely fine. But, I was ALSO under the impression that avoiding intraconference matchups was of the most importance.
-
He's not, that's why he's bringing up the discussion. Again, he said "he's under the impression" they'd avoid it. Relax.
-
Exactly why he asked. None of us know, which is why IHTINB mentioned that "he was under the impression" they'd avoid the intraconference matchup. Not claiming to be wise and I'm sure he's not either, which is why he asked the question if you were sure. We're all on the same plain here, buddy. When's the last time they've had an intraconference matchup? They absolutely try to avoid it when they can. DU has to get on a plane no matter where they go, so they can easily put them in Providence. UMD going to Cincy isn't ideal, but to avoid the NCHC matchup, precedent has been set to send UMD to Cincy.
