To avoid intraconference matchup, yes, that's the precedence.
-
This. Yup, I'd be surprised if they didn't avoid the matchup.
-
I'd be pretty surprised to see them flip our seed like that. Has that ever happened? Honestly not being confrontational, but do you remember this ever happening? Only thing close I can think of is when Wisconsin made the tourney when they were below .500 but hosted the regional at the Kohl Center. We beat them anyway ... Since then they added that under .500 rule. That's not really the same situation here, I guess.
-
I'd say yes. Again, not sure, but the precedent is there. My impression was, and from what Debbies just put on the thread, was that they will do everything they can to avoid the first round, intraconference matchup. That can happen by not putting DU or UMD in Fargo. If Western is a No. 1, too, that blows this discussion up because they'd have to have one if UND is a No. 4 seed.
-
You sure about that? I kid, I kid
-
RAHHHH someone "attacked" my idea and said it was "wrong." RAHHHHH I need to overreact lol. Oxbow, I absolutely see what you're saying, btw, I just want to know what they prefer. Precedent looks like they'd try and avoid the intraconference matchups.
-
LOL you're the only speaking about this that seems to be certain. "WILL BE IN FARGO" All he did was ask if you were sure about it. Why is that so controversial? Your logic is absolutely fine. But, I was ALSO under the impression that avoiding intraconference matchups was of the most importance.
-
He's not, that's why he's bringing up the discussion. Again, he said "he's under the impression" they'd avoid it. Relax.
-
Exactly why he asked. None of us know, which is why IHTINB mentioned that "he was under the impression" they'd avoid the intraconference matchup. Not claiming to be wise and I'm sure he's not either, which is why he asked the question if you were sure. We're all on the same plain here, buddy. When's the last time they've had an intraconference matchup? They absolutely try to avoid it when they can. DU has to get on a plane no matter where they go, so they can easily put them in Providence. UMD going to Cincy isn't ideal, but to avoid the NCHC matchup, precedent has been set to send UMD to Cincy.
-
So, close the thread? He asked you a question and you danced it. It was a simple question assuming the results. Why are you so sure they'd keep the intraconference match up? They could just as easily put UMD in Cincy and DU in Providence.
-
^^ Yes. Especially with a No. 1 seed.
-
Absolutely. We're pretty much at home, we're the defending champs, and we've shown this season that we are pretty d@mn talented when we play a full 60. Just get in, baby.
-
Very true, but I'm more worried about collective, acidic build up haha.
-
Agreed, but I can already feel the heartburn and nausea building in my stomach. Those games take years off my life lol.
-
Hahaha he's good at what he does. He is always very logical in his discussion.

Here's Moy's brackets for this week. Of course, he moved the Gophers to Fargo and flipped Harvard out. I get it, I get it. Anyone think WMU can win that regional in Cincy? I sure do. Poor DU. Every year, they get shafted with a regional. Wisconsin vs. BU would be fun, I think. A potential BU/BC regional final is always fun. This week’s brackets East Regional (Providence): 16 Canisius vs. 2 Denver 11 Providence vs. 6 Union Northeast Regional (Manchester): 14 Wisconsin vs. 3 Boston University 10 Boston College vs. 8 Harvard Midwest Regional (Cincinnati): 13 Massachusetts-Lowell vs. 4 Western Michigan 12 Vermont vs. 5 Penn State West Regional (Fargo): 15 Bemidji State vs. 1 Minnesota-Duluth 9 North Dakota vs. 7 Minnesota

Where will we finish in the regular season
stoneySIOUX replied to iluvdebbies's topic in Men's Hockey
In the national tournament. Honestly all I care about. -
Leclerc started both nights. He's been their go-to guy all year over Nehama.
-
In the tie, Duluth outshot them like 3 or 4 to one. I caught the last 5 minutes or so and UMD took it to them. Not discrediting them whatsoever because UMD is the best team in the country, but I didn't see a lot to brand them much more than a decent team. We need to handle them.

Yes, Cam isn't 100%
-
I guess I'll flip my last goal pick to.... hmmmm... Wolanin. Just so everyone gets off him for a little bit
-
Frankly, we need him. We need another threat, right now.
-
Agreed, Ox I'm going big on this one. 7-2. Need an Omaha type game to rebuild some confidence. Gersich x2, Boeser x2, TPooly, CPooly, WILKIE
