  1. I know there were a number of high school seniors last season that have moved on and are playing junior hockey this year as well as some younger players who have moved on to pro hockey that could be talked about but I will just add some guys still in high school. I'm not sure how much interest these guys are getting but here's a list of some of the better area high school players to keep an eye on. Seniors- Chris Forney TRF, Nick Uglem, Tony Uglem, Thomas Carey Moorhead, Matt Serratore Bemidji, Tommy Hajicek EGF, Alex Ziegler, Tanner Okeson Roseau. Juniors- Eddie Eades, Colton Poolman EGF, Kyle Sylvester Warroad, Alex Strand, Zach Yon, Alex Halstengard Roseau, Aaron Herdt Moorhead. Sophomores Dixon Bowen, Tye Ausmus EGF, Goalie Gabe Heifort Bemidji. Other uncommitted top MN high school recruits to watch are Seniors- Zach Lavalle Hill Murray, TJ Moore Benilde, TJ Roo Totino-Grace, Thomas Lindstrom Breck, Max Coatta and Tommy Vannelli Minnetonka. Juniors- Austin Poganski St. Cloud Cathedral, Spencer Naas Blake (last season but can't remember if he transfered this season), Connor Hurley Edina, Tyler Sheehy Burnsville, Avery Peterson Grand Rapids. Sophomores- Shane Gerisch, John Peterson, and Will Garin (Freshman) Holy Family, Jake Wahlin White Bear Lake, Dylan Malmquist Edina, Tom Novak St. Thomas Academy. Anyone who knows of any other players that I didn't put or might have missed on the list feel free to add them or add more about players from the list.

Vannelli just committed to Minnesota yesterday.

  2. empty rink to the post above me

wish they would play more rivalry games

Yeah really not a great crowd, Hurley playing alongside Dylan Malmquist and Tyler Naane. I really like what I have seen so far from Malmquist, looks like he has a lot of potential for the future.

  3. Edina and Centennial are on Fox Sports North right now if anyone wants to watch Hurley and some other pretty talented players as well. I see there is a Pitlick on Centennial anyone know if he is related to Tyler Pitlick, I would guess its his brother but not sure.

    He transferred to Benilde-St Margarets.

    The rich get richer...

Thanks, I thought I heard that but couldn't remember if that was the right place or not.

  5. I know UND has a handful of north Dakotans coming in but ate there any skaters up north to keep a eye on? Warroad, Roseau, trf , Moorhead? Just curious if so

  6. who's Lizotte and who does he play 4

A defenseman for Grand Forks Red River, very physical and solid all around but footwork might be a little questionable. I like what I've seen from him and I'm sure he will play more hockey and he has potential but probably needs to improve his skating ability more and I would guess will have to play some junior hockey first.

  7. Hopefully this kind of win can get the guys going a litle bit. I think there is a lot to be addressed this week and I'm sure it will be in practice. I thought the we played a little better offensively but that will continue to improve and lines will continue to be shuffled looking for the right combinations. I thought Hak made a couple good moves tonight and really liked Rowney much better at center than at the wing, it just keeps him more involved in the corners and around the puck more and seems to fit his game better. Hopefully we will improve our defensive zone coverage and continue to cut down on the mistakes and turnovers. Gonna get a real good test next weekend travelling to South Bend to face Notre Dame and I'm very excited to see what comes from that series.

  8. I was suprised to see UMD with so many shots, but when you go back there weren't a whole lot of quality shots. I thought there were some bright spots for UND like the jump from Kristo tonight and the offense looked to get going a little bit, but we looked horrible in our own zone tonight. Just a lot of running around instead of playing your position and doing your own job and too many bad turnovers. I thought Saunders was a little shaky in net tonight as well and while I am definitely not happy about the tie will have to do. Hopefully the guys come out quick tomorrow nigh and put a lot of pressure on UMD and I think that is what will happen and we will take 3 out of 4 points from this weekend.

  9. I think a lot of people were hoping for a sweep but realistically probably thought a split would be ok this weekend. St.Cloud is gonna be a top 5 challenger in the WCHA and will only get better with Hanowski coming back. There are a lot of good chances that we are just missing that I think will start to go our way. Parks should be close to back and he will add some scoring depth to the lineup and allow Hak to do a few different things with the lines, overall I'm really not to worried about this team and think they will start clicking a little better very soon.

  10. Last 10 years in St. Cloud per Schloss, UND is winless (0-6-4) on Fridays and undefeated (10-0-0) on Saturdays. Goes against this year's trend.

    I think a split is a given.

Was just gonna bring that up and how it is about the opposite of what has happened this year, I'm gonna say we get the sweep this weekend in a couple close low scoring games. The key will be to make Farragher uncomfortable and be better in finishing around the net.

  11. My guess of what lines may look like tonight

    Kristo-Knight-Grimaldi

    MacMillian-Rowney-O'Donnell

    St.Clair-Gaarder-Rodwell

    Chyzyk-Pattyn-Caggiula

    Forbort-MacWilliam

    Mattson-Schmaltz

    Simpson-Gleason

    Gothberg

    Saunders

    Maris

  12. Minnesota is rolling, but Michigan State is also becoming a great example for youth teams everywhere on not how to play in your own end.

Yeah Michigan State has no physical presence at all and against a good skating team like Minnesota you have to play them physical. I think teams that can play a physical more grind it out style can give Minnesota some problems.

  13. I'm in the same boat. Listening to TH on the radio but I have the TV on in case the video feed comes back. Where's the problem? With Midco or our local provider? Pain in the rear!

Doing the same thing much rather listen to Tim than Hammer, heck I'd rather listen to Sweeney than Hammer. Like Iceberg explained I believe it is on Midco and not are local providers.
