  1. What a win!
The win doesn't mean that 1st half performance didn't happen though they have to learn from it & fix it
Defense was solid at times against bad Indy O but when it was best it was attacking more Donatell either needs to play aggressive a ton more or find a different job

13 for 350 to San Fran?

Twins were smart to NOT make that long of a committment.

My thoughts as well but you gotta go use the money you had marked for him now. Go take your best shot at Dansby Swanson and Carlos Rodon.

This regime hasn't had a chance to build the roster with their own talent. The 2023 draft will be crucial.

It is only one draft but this past springs results don't exactly inspire confidence in me. A lot of the trades were really bad. Passing up on Kyle Hamilton who has been solid to take a safety in Lewis Cine who couldn't win a starting spot prior to being injured. Andrew Booth had injuries in college but they went with him and the injuries have continued and when healthy it wasn't good for him. Ed Ingram is starting but is the worst RG as far as pressures go in the NFL easily. Brian Asamoah has been solid on special teams and I liked him preseason. The one guy who has performed pretty well is Akayleb Evans but now he is dealing with concussion issues.

  4. I said after the win last week we would lose at Detroit. Some have glossed over how bad this defense is because we keep finding ways to win but I've said it for a long time that Donatell is awful. He sits back and lets teams move the ball up and down the field and hopes they can get a redzone stop. Everything he wants to play is so soft and I absolutely hate it. This defense has shown a little success when they bring some pressures from time to time but he is too scared to lean on it. I was happy to see KOC say they have to change some things defensively in the postgame presser and find some way to generate more pressure.

Offensively I thought they were alright but I hated the pop pass call on 1st and goal that turned into a turnover. To me that is a 4th down type call or 2 point call. You should've just tried to pound the ball a couple times especially because you had plenty of clock to work with and could milk it down guaranteeing Detroit can't put up points before half. I also wanted him to punt instead of take the offside and go for it on 4th and 1 first drive but if you are gonna go for it I hate the playcall to run out of gun. Detroit DL is better than your OL and way more physical especially minus Darrisaw and Bradbury. The mismanagement of timeouts late in the game as well and altogether this wasn't one of the better games from the coaching staff.

Detroit does deserve a lot of credit and is a really solid team. They are a lot better than what their record shows and could/should easily have at least a couple more wins. I really would hate if they sneak into the playoffs and the Vikes have to face them in the first round. Give me New York, Seattle, or Washington rather than Detroit.

  5. Didn't get to watch any this weekend just listened to TH but sounded like probably this teams best weekend of hockey this season. I really think that Gaber-Mac-Blake line could have a absolutely huge second half of the season. The key will be finding some consistency and stacking these kind of efforts together.

  6. We saw what this team can be for stretches in the 1st and 2nd where they had great offensive zone possession and cycled the opponent to death finishing with a goal and flashing a lot of skill and we saw why this team isn't what they could be. They are horrendous defensively in every facet as well as not having a goaltender who can bail you out. Even when things were going our way you saw SCSU stick to their d-zone coverage responsibilities and try to tie up sticks out front as well as clog the middle they also had a goaltender come up with a couple big saves.

The turnovers we saw from Moore and Farmer tonight looked like a mite game out there, just absolutely stupid hockey. Berry is supposed to have a background with defensemen well it may have helped us land a couple high end D but man oh man the last couple years our d-zone coverage is hard to make sense of at all as it is basically non-existent. Our transition game that used to be a calling card is nowhere near that level know and it seems about 3/4 of our breakouts are just throwing it off the glass or flipping it out.

Both Hellsten and DeRidder have really struggled at times and you really wonder how at a place like UND is the goaltending situation so bad but they also are hung out to dry multiple times a game.

He shoud have smashed Iowa with back to back TDs in the first two drives and said to Iowa: try and outscore us.

Instead came out not letting Athan throw for the first quarter using the excuse of the wind and end up playing from behind all game. The 4th and 1 missed field goal was the one I had a problem with because you approached it like 4th was a go by the PA throw on 3rd down.

After the Iowa debacle... I am thinking Fleck has bumped his ceiling.

I think Iowa is in his head. He tries to out Iowa Iowa and that just leaves such small room for error. 3 of 4 they’ve dominated statistically and found ways to lose. The way to beat Iowa is by being aggressive and taking care of the ball.
