I know McFeely used these survey results as clickbait but just want to point out the numbers here are so insignificant it's almost comical. The overall sample size was 500. However the sports questions were only asked to those who identified as sports fans (56% or 277 of respondents per the study). They claim the margin of error is +/- 5.9% on that portion which seems pretty low given the sample size and method of collection (voluntary phone surveys), but I guess they are the "experts" and can't see their entire cross selection and methodology. Though with some of the predictions they have had in the past compared to actual results..... Note this out of 500 total respondents, meaning around half of the people surveyed really don't care enough to answer or literally don't have an opinion despite being a sports fan. I'm not saying I agree with all the picks. In fact, quite surprised by at least a few of them to be honest. That being said, it was media members who made the votes, not UND. I'm not going to rip on UND for trying to give some players some promotion for something under normal circumstances that they would have gotten. I don't think it was a competition between teammates, it was a hypothetical question given to a group of media members on where they would have voted UND players if they were in a hypothetical conference. Without a doubt, they should have done a better job explaining how it was done and what the criteria was for each level.
-
Or they did something to give acknowledgement to players who were deserving and didn't have an outlet to recieve recognition for their play by no fault of their own? They took a pool of local (GF/Fargo) and national media and asked them where they would have put players if UND had been in a conference. UND didn't make the votes, they just took some effort to organize and promote some of the players. What a terrible thing to do.

He is chair of the College Football Playoff Selection Committee. That has literally absolutely nothing to do with anything outside of ranking and picking teams for the College Footbal Playoffs along with the NY6 Bowls. On top of that, committee members only serve 3 year terms and Barta is entering his 2nd year, he is done in February 2022. Even if NDSU were to move FBS (someday), he'd be long gone before they joined. This connection is a leap even for you.

Probably also need to take into account that in Schuster's limited action, he had the same limitations the handcuffed Studrud a lot of his career: If he went down, they were really in trouble with no one to come in, so the play calling was done with that in mind. I think with 3 (hopefully) viable options, play calling will be wide open and the QB will be able to make more plays out of the pocket and with their legs.
-
My guess is that number might be high, but with the youth at QB and athleticisim BB has shown, it makes a ton of sense to install more packages for him that they can mix into normal play calling. Having all 3 QB's in school right now and be able to participate in spring ball is absolutely huge for the offense. Sounds like all 3 have the right attitude going into it and it is truly an open competition. They are each slightly different QB's, so that makes the whole thing even more intriguing. Obviously there is a general idea of what they have on campus but it is going to take at least through spring ball to figure out what they have with the two new guys.

Unless its going to fall over on its own, I don't think anything is imminent at this point in time. Still missing a big donor or two for HPC2.0

Not ruling it out if he wasn't injured his true freshman year, just seems different than how it normally works. But who knows with the NCAA.
-
I'm curious on that. Typically you only get a medical if you lose two years to injury or if you didn't redshirt and only played minimally one of your 4 years due to injury (which doesn't apply). Was he hurt his redshirt year (2017/18)?

Plausible I guess? But no clue where its "residing" at. https://fightinghawks.com/news/2013/6/6/208168361.aspx This video shows them being pretty careful around the main structure as well:
-
Unfortunately, they have continued on what most would deem an unrealistic pace for an extended period of time. It is now realistic until it isn't...
-
All 3 QB's are already on campus, so that is huge.

I mean, unless you're driving to MSP, you aren't getting it any cheaper. And even then, it isn't a whole lot better until Southwest releases their flights. A lot to be said leaving from GFK and having no stops, definitely worth it for some.
-
This is going to be the biggest thing to address.
-
I believe it was reported that he'll also be the ST coordinator. The previous ST coordinator (who also coached RB's) was making over $200K/year.
-
Just curious, do you have any actual understanding of what adjustments are or aren't made or are you just assuming? I only ask because I saw them try to attack offenses multiple different ways. Obviously they weren't successful for a variety of reasons, but to make the assumption that they aren't trying new things is a bit obtuse. Zimmer moved a safety to nickel corner beause he didn't have other options. They also made some other adjustments to handle the Saints offense, which isn't a ton different than what teams do every week. It just happened to work out beyond all expectations, particularly considering how poorly Sendejo has been playing this year.
-
The hold up for Nashville was 100% on the venue's end. It would take some creative scheduling, not sure who's on the schedule and what teams would be willing to move a game, which would likely require splitting up a series.
-
Intent to injure? Or intent to put a hit on a QB who didn't slide to protect himself? I know you have some personal bias on this one, so I don't mean that negatively, no one wants to see players get hurt. That being said, plays like that happen all the time. At full speed, Clowney went to put a hit a QB who didn't slide. He probably should have gotten a penalty for the helmet to helmet contact but he did catch him with his shoulder first. The partial clip in slow-motion makes it look different than it was in real time. Hope it is not a serious concussion and Wentz can recover. The amount of injuries he's had in the last 4 years are starting to add up.
-
Omaha was an absolute blast. Target Field would be as well. I don't know how they get the scheduling to work though outside of a hefty check to UND for the possibility of giving up a home game.
-
And those two years were preceded by early flameouts in the conference tournament (1 win in 3 years). The 2014 NCAA berth was a long time ago, hopefully the team can get back to where they were then. Will be interesting to see how they stack up with the SD schools.

Hotels closer than 10+ miles from the football stadium/downtown area.

What's funny is that the basketball center was announced two weeks before they announced they were dropping football. On top of that, your post was mocked because of how you tried to position Jacksonville's past success in basketball, which consists of a single Cinderella run a half century ago and no NCAA appearances in 34 years. It had nothing to do with them sticking some of the savings into other sports. The ability to support other sports better was a huge part of their reasoning to drop football and no one disagreed with that.

@The Sicatoka @UNDBIZ Can one of you start and move all of this into a separate thread dedicated to specifically to Hunter? Might gain a bit more traction for a young man who is everything we want our student athletes to represent.
