I must admit it is nice to have a past to boast about, though. Perhaps someday you'll have one you can boast about, too.

One of the offensive linemen got hurt last night. Heard it might be Quesenberry. Any word on his condition? Didn't look good.

Sutton ran well (4.4/carry); Miller ran extremely well (7.5/carry). Bradley had a decent first game (no ints., good decision-making, very few poor throws) and his stats would have been better were it not for at least two dropped passes, including one in the end zone. I think he has a lot of upside once he settles in and gets some experience. We had too many penalties and they hurt us a lot, including costing us a touchdown. I agree that the D was much more effective when it was blitzing and we need to do a lot more of it. You can't have an effective pass defense if the quarterback has time to pitch a tent in the backfield. Overall, a satisfying win, but we need a lot of improvement as we head into the two FBS road games.

I drove up to Cedar Falls for that UNI game and am I ever glad that I did! It's one of the best college football games that I've ever seen; I think that there were 4 lead changes in the last 5 minutes. As I remember, Dressler scored the winning touchdown late in the game on a quick hitter over the middle or into the flat that went all the way (70 yds. or so?). What a game.

I, too, sense that we're a greatly improved team this year but, in reality, we're picked to finish last in the Great West and we have a fairly tough schedule, outside of the three non-DI teams and possibly Drake, so I think anything 6-5 or better will be considered a decent season, with anticipated further steps in the right direction next season as our freshmen, rfreshmen, and sophs come of age.

Honestly, the primary impetus for the trip is to visit my brother-in-law, but I always try to combine these trips with a Sioux game or other sporting event. However, three friends and I are coming back for the Ice Breaker Tournament and the Sioux football game in a little over a month (already have our tickets for the Ice Breaker), where the only impetus is Sioux hockey/football! Go Sioux!

Decided over the weekend to drive up from Missouri; predicting 9,750 and 31-21, Sioux.

If so, with respect to NDSU and USD, then pettiness is keeping our two biggest rivals off the schedule. I'd like to see us show that we're bigger than all this and do what's best for the teams and the fans, not to mention the bottom line (good attendance, minimal travel).

Good schedule, but would have liked to have seen NDSU, SDSU, and USD on the schedule. Sad that not one of them is.

Another game to add to the schedule: UND @ UMKC on Dec. 7. Which is fine by me, since it's in my back yard, but they've been alternating between Grand Forks and Kansas City every year and this should have been their turn to go to Grand Forks.

Wonder why he would make what looks like a lateral move for him, plus he has to go through the last year of the transition here.

There's a tripleheader weekend Oct. 7-8 (including the IceBreaker Tourn. with BC, Mich St. & Air Force), if that works for you. I plan on going up that weekend with 3 friends.

The way that her termination was handled is a disgrace. I hope that those who were in on this shameful handling of it are held to account for it. Treating people like this has got to be a real downer, morale-wise, for other faculty and staff.
