SCSU - CC still 0-0. About halfway through the second. As I speak, Huskies score to go up 1-0.
-
Zajac says you're welcome.
-
End of 1st. SCSU 0 CC 0
-
Let me guess who he hit.
-
Tigers - Huskies. 0-0 with about 12 min left in first.
-
Dogz is a bigger Sioux fan than both of you combined. Keep the updates coming.

Oshie Stafford Duncan Kozak (2) Prpich

That sucks. Fabian is one of our favorites. Works his arse off every shift. His two goals last year against UM rank right up there with my all time favorite Sioux memories. Let's suck it up boys and keep the roll going next weekend.
-
Loss of Fabian will hurt. He caught fire about this time last year. It will be interesting to see what Hak does with line combinations if Fabian can't go next weekend. Great weekend for the Sioux.
-
Fabian injured. Anyone watching on TV? How serious does it look?
-
1-0 CC 2 minutes into the 1st.

The hit on Sterling was clean. However, Punkawimp laid his typical classless cheapshot when he drilled a guy into the boards after an iceing call. Not suprising, no call from Shepard. Also, there was a serious hit from behind by CC player that was called as two minute cross check instead of 5 minute major. Hit was much worse than hits that DQ'd Fabian and Finley last weekend. I'll all for the major, but there has to be some kind of consistency on how it is called.

3-2 Gophers on Potulny PP goal.
-
Goligoski gone for checking from behind. Second UM D man to go tonight.
-
UM - DU now 2-2. After DU penalty kill, Dougie says that Gophers are 1 for 25 on their last 25 PPs. Denver is looking good. Amazing how they just seem to turn it on this time of year.
-
Ziggy is also a former Roughrider and GF native. With those creds, never count him out.

Aaron Slattengren was dismissed from school and hockey team for academic policy violation. This is a big loss for CC as he was one of their key players.

Amen JK. That's why it would be a shame if the Sioux don't make the Tourney this year. I gotta think that a Regional would be reason enough to recreate that atmosphere at the Ralph. Better yet, it would be great to recreate it next week against Duluth. You could tell in Columbus that the team just fed off the energy in that building.

First Memory - Game with my dad at the Old Barn. Jim Calhoon lost his contact on the ice and both teams were down on their hands and knees looking for it. Best Memory - Last years semi in Columbus v. Minnesota. The energy after Fabians second goal was unbelievable. Some games at the old Ralph also stand out, especially during the 82-83 "Kermit's Luck Guides Our Puck" run to the title. Only memorable game I've seen in new Ralph was 4-4 tie with CC when Sioux scored twice late to tie. Favorite Goalie - Bob Iwabuchi and Karl Goehring. Saw Goehring at the Air Force ice rink against CC his freshman year. Everyone around us was making fun of how short he was. He played great and UND won. Sign of things to come. Biggest Bummer - 1-0 loss to DU in regionals in 2004.

16th in the PWR. For now, on the outside looking in. However, still plenty of hockey yet to be played.

Just back from the game. Tough loss. Ran into a desperate CC team in the third and it showed. They totally outplayed us. Losing Jones really took its toll in the third as the Sioux looked tired. Penalty on Duncan was BS. Sterling is good, don't get me wrong, but the guy flails around everytime someone touches him. Duncan puts his stick on him and Sterling acts like Finley just laid him out. The guy looked like Greg Louganis. That said, CC deserved the win. Good solid road split for the Sioux. Now a week off and need to take care of business with Duluth. Not sure who to root for next week in the CC-SCSU series. One win and CC moves into 5th. It should be interesting the next few weekends.

Story this morning by hack David Ramsey in the Colorado Springs Rag about how the Fighting Sioux nickname insults. Web site is www.gazette.com but I couldn't find the article in their on-line addition. Here is a small sampling: "North Dakota should dump it's Fighting Sioux nickname. . . .That way we might be spared the sight of green sweatshirts decorated with the insulting depictions of Native Americans, and the North Dakota fans who cling to old-time, clueless ways by wearing those sweatshirts." Ramsey goes on to dismiss all the programs the University has for American Indians but continues to argue that the logo "diminishes everyone". I am going to honor little Davey's request and wear my white jersey tonight instead of the green. It is the least I can do. Go Sioux.

Don't you mean your AZ azz? I'm with you. Personally, I'll be in the seats this Friday wearing the Green and White. You heard it hear first, I guarantee a Sioux victory. It was last year in CC with two tough loses in which the Sioux totally dominated the Tigers that UND started to turn things around. Same this year only with a W or two to show for the effort.

Reality check. The season is not over. Sure, the sweep this weekend hurt. Sure, it sucks to lose two to SCSU. However, there are 8 regular season games left followed by the WCHA playoffs. Overall record wise I think we are about where we were last year. A big weekend in Colorado next weekend will do wonders for the pairwise. I'll be in the stands next weekend wearing the green and white for what should be a great series. Looking forward to it. For all of you pulling out the clubs and giving up on the season, send me an e-mail and I'll tell you where you can send me your West Region tickets.
