Ooops. I did not mean to say victory. Yet.
-
Triple kudos to all the fans in attendance. They are the ones responsible for this victory, no?
-
There's that sound again. The one I heard earlier. Only louder.
-
Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stroud to the UNI 13 yd. line.
-
False start. Cripes. The noise. The pressure. The youth.
-
There it was. Halfback pass. Open. But only a two yard run gain. That's ok, we still have the ball. UNI timeout. Third and eight. Ball on ND's 36 yd. line. At least so I think.
-
First Down!! I smell something sweet.
-
No problem. Still plenty of time. Sioux have moved the ball all day long. Here we go.
-
De-Fence!!!
-
That is a big 10-4. I think that some of those Gopher fans who were there that night are still not regular.
-
Yes. Just heard the "Let's Go Sioux!" chant over the crowd. It'd be a blast to be there. Big kudos to all of those who made the trip. Big big kudos.
-
I think that that sound I just heard from about 300 miles southeast of where I am was the collective sound of sphincters slamming shut on about 15,000 fans in the UNIDOME. Of course, this game has a long way to go. Great answer by the Sioux, and that GF Central kid has got to be on the roof right about now.

Let's not forget the loss of Brad Berry as well. A huge hole that will take time for his replacement, however well qualified, to fill. Berry's work with the young defensemen has been legendary, and his off ice demeanor and bench skills are both top shelf. Sure, Berry doesn't lace them up, but his absence will hurt, at least early on while the kids acclimate to a new guy.

There is a golf course in Colorado that offers designer "hard" hats to its customers. Hidden shell liners. Optional batting helmets with designer colors and logos. Same with guys mowing their lawns and trimming the trees. Helmets are everywhere, or soon will be. Some Pa and fine coach in Duluth bought the farm on a head injury recently. I think it was during a practice. Seatbelts save lives. So do helmets. So do, sometimes, guns.

Hey PCM, is that a dead horse that those little yeller folks is beatin? Perfect. You got any thin-skinned yeller guys?

Things are well. I am starting my dry land training for the upcoming season next week, and will follow that up with training on grilling in below zero weather, training on opening beer bottles with choppers, and training on heckling the opposition in clear, concise, and courteous tones. I should be all set to go by the time that pucks start dropping in October. As the old song goes, see you in St. Louis, and around many arenas before then.

Be wary of chiros. Most chiros I know struggled through high school, but managed to breeze through chiroquacker school.

We get five upper deck end tickets for $250. Five games, five seats. $10 a ticket. Best deal in town. There is often opportunity at some games to move down into closer seats. High on the end line gives a pretty interesting view of the game, although nothing beats sitting close to the action. $130 a package vs. $50 a package is an easy call, especially with kids. Sitting in the upper deck at the Excel is like sleeping in the lower levels of the Titanic. The proletariat vs. the bourgeoisie.

What's with all of this "should" and "if" stuff?

Best I figure, Kessel can't come back even if he wants too. Maturi is feeling the heat, and Kessel probably ain't been going to class. Like alot of hockey players, he's no academician. Whatever that means. With the Blarney's inquiry, the Gophers cannot afford any more bad pr. The Gophers will be a better team without him. Here is saying that, unless he has a major change of attitude and focus, Pill will have little more than a cup of coffee in the NHL. Had he been a Badger, he would have had the world by the tail. Such are the mistakes that we all make in life. I will be stunned if Kessel returns to the Gophers, and even more stunned if he becomes an NHL mainstay. Dave Spehar.

Still more proof that only the good die young. Gordy was one heck of a guy. Sacred Heart lost an athletic legend to the dirty C this past week as well. Thanks for the photo aleah.

I think Sansevere is still with the Pioneer Press, no? Guys keep jumping ship in the newspaper world.

Here is the latest, from what appears to be a good source. Kessel does not want to return to tUMtc. Kessel-Bruins Still Talkin'
-
You mean The Triouxper's bottle of Smirnoff's vodka? That is the only source that I know of where he gets his information. The same source for most all of us on this board . . . . the distillery.

That's a big 10-4. Good goals, but goals that could have been stopped by a solid stopper. Parise is not NHL material. This said, it does not mean that he cannot, or will not, have a long and productive professional career. It just ain't gonna involve the Show, other than for maybe a cup of joe or two.
