That was a stupid, stupid play call. Roland lined up 7 yards deep in the endzone, very predictable result. Poor coaching and poor quarterback play so far, doesn't look good.

Those games were also later in the season (jan/feb) so I think it's still bit too early to get down on the team. I kinda liked the way that season (1999-2000) turned out.

I assume that David Toews is his brother. He is two years younger and second in scoring on the Bantom Tier 1 team, 27 goals and 30 assists in 23 games. So landing Jonathan would probably give UND the inside track to his brother in a few years if he continues to progress.

Ticketmaster showed the games as sold-out. However, on Saturday morning I was at REA at decided to check the box office and was amazed they were selling tickets. When I asked they said they had about 100 tickets that just became available. Not sure where they came from but it looked like most, if not all, were high up in section 315. Not sure about Friday but maybe the same thing happened, although there were a lot of people outside the arena looking for tickets on Friday, didn't see many on Sat. Could these tickets that became available be ones returned by Minnesota ? Or do they hold back tickets for other reasons (Sioux kids club?).

I only know that because that was the way I got a few extra tickets last year for the Saturday game.

Obviously these polls are completely worthless when Maine gets a vote for #1 after losing two at home to the Sioux. The Sioux may not deserve to be #1 at this point either but I believe by the end of the year they will be a better team then last year. The defense will be better (everyone back with an additional year experience) and I think the offense will be just as good. The loss of Parise and Bochenski hurts but I think will be made up for by the returning guys being more experienced and the addition of the frosh (Zajac, Spirko, and Kaip). In fact, I think the goals will be spread more evenly across all lines which makes it less likely we wll lose a 1-0 game in the playoffs. This is the year for the Sioux to get #8, their chances decrease significantly next year with all the seniors plus the likelyhood of early departures (Greene and Stafford the most likely).
