  1. For what it's worth, Miami comes off a sweep of Western Michigan, who was coming off a sweep of Nebraska Omaha. Using the transitive property of college hockey (dubious at best) they appear to be quite a team this year. Using a more realistic view, they certainly appear to be capable of playing a solid game of hockey. I am hoping that we can get our key players back in the lineup (Poolman would be great to see back) and BRING IT! Go Hawks! Oh...wait...
  2. Friday: Mr. Stecher Saturday: Mr. L. Johnson
  3. Let the record show that we don't put up with this $#!t from Wisconsin. 5-1 SIOUX.
  4. The officiating was abysmal, for sure. Whistles were in the pockets, and just about anything and everything passed for hockey. I almost choked when LJ got called for holding when I'd already seen several such instances from both sides. I'm guessing we'll see the other side of the coin tonight...ref's might whistle everything and start a parade to the box. We just need to play for sixty tonight like we played the last 20 last night and keep our hands on our sticks. That, and keep getting Caggs the puck down low. :-) GO SIOUX!!!
  5. So is it fair to say that this freshman class is indicative of the difference Hak was trying to make when he let go of Eades and brought in Berry?
  6. Great job between the pipes for Mr. Hrynkiw. I was hoping for more offence, but a road win is a road win. All conference points are cheerfully accepted.
  7. Indeed, the D did a good job at keeping CC's chances to the perimeter. Their first goal found the net when Hrynkiw was completely screened. He did a solid job minding the posts all night.
  8. If he gets a chance to work with Karl a bit more he will develop and give us some wins. His awareness was a bit slow, almost lost a wraparound attempt, and was too far back in the net on more than one occasion. That said, he seemed a good step up from using a third D-man. :-)
  9. Anyone know the last time a freshman notched a hat trick in the home opener?
  10. Congrats to Cam Johnson, NCHC tendy of the Week!
  11. Big opportunity for PWR points on WCHA teams. SWEEP!!!
  12. Hmm...I see that now CHN also has Mich State with a win over LSSU. Last night their scoreboard was flipped, with LSSU taking the win. And both LSSU and MS websites credit Mich State with the win, so... LSSU had two losses. Maine had two ties. Michigan State had a tie and a win. UND had a tie and a win. Hmm....it would seem that the hardware should be split? Or is there some other tiebreaker stat?
  13. State lost to LSSU. So they had a tie and a loss. LSSU had a loss and a win. Maine had two ties. UND had a win and a tie.
  14. Coach says they are bringing home the hardware, so that's something positive. Time to prep for Bemidji who took down Duluth tonight.
  15. Coach said "No more". Cam listens. 4-0. Boeser, Caggiula, Janatuinen, and Ausmus. GO SIOUX!!!
  16. Open net! Chyz makes it count!
  17. Don't like to see Simonson headed to the locker room. I hope this isn't anything major.
  18. Got to love a nice shorty!
  19. Johnson's all over the ice...
  20. Will be listening, for sure. It would be great to see LJ light the lamp early and often this season. Goal production from him will only bring great things. I wouldn't be surprised to see Poganski with one or two this weekend as well. Go SIOUX!!!
  21. Before we run off counting chickens, what about that 6-1 drubbing Bemidji laid on Manitoba Saturday? We sweep the next 4 games, I'll start counting chickens...at least the first 4. :-) Not trying to be Donnie Downer, but rather, a realist. Consider the competition.
  22. 5-2, men in GREEN. DROP THAT PUCK!
  23. Blais wasn't UND blood either. Every now and again the gene pool needs some new chromosomes.
  24. Looks like we'll all have to drive there.
