Don't want to join the coaching debate, but as I said earlier in another thread we have to remind ourselves that the transition won't truly be over until the 2015 season starts for every sport except hockey. 2012 is the first true recruiting class where the recruits can play their full college career with the possibility of playoffs and without the possibilities of NCAA sanctions hanging over them from the nickname issue, the last 3 years nobody knows how many kids UND has missed out on because they didn't want to play without the possibility of a brass ring at the end or fearful of the NCAA hammer. This years class knew where they stood, and so will the classes from now on, and the incoming talent should keep getting better and better because of it. Now I'm NOT saying that is a crutch that the coaches should be able to lean on exclusively as an explanation for poor play, but it has to factor into the big picture. As far as the football team goes, they finished about where I thought they would, they were better than expected on offense and worse than expected on defense. I don't know how good of a coach Mussman is or isn't, but with one year in the BSC under their belts and 6 home games on the schedule next year, I think expectations will be fairly high and if their record doesn't reflect that he may be in trouble.

Quite a performance by the defense today, shutting down that potent offense on their field is a feat, and they actually moved the ball other ways besides Peterson. Every Viking fan I know thought we were looking at about 4-5 wins this year, of course that was not counting on anything from Peterson. Another good draft, a couple free agents, and a healthy Harvin and maybe this team can make some noise next year. Would be something if they could sneak into the playoffs this year.

That's funny. I'm not defending the Blood handshake deal because that was ridiculous, but I guess clubbing people in the back of their head with sticks (Lucia) and choking people out with sticks (Cepis) is considered more acceptable. And as far as underage drinking...in college...guess what?

I just hope both these conferences and the new-look WCHA are successful in the long run and maybe even add a few more start-up programs to keep college hockey on the upswing...the last thing we want is the weaker hockey schools struggling and pulling the plug.

I saw that too, a UND thread starts and they start fighting among themselves in the UND thread about not starting UND threads. It's pretty amusing. They must keep track of what you post darell, you are one of the more popular targets from here.

He was mentioned more a couple years ago along with darell1976, but lately the thinking has been geaux_sioux. I agree it is not DaveK, thebigund is actually a little tactful and sarcastically funny, Dave is...well, not.

I go browse once in a while but have no account, the only guy who posts regularly is "thebigund" who they speculate is anybody from DaveK to geaux_sioux, other than that it is a random post here or there. I don't know if DaveK used to post there but they reference him often, kind of like Lakes on here.
