Man, that sucks that UND's band won't be there. I'm sure Minnesota's and Wisconsin's will be there and I know tUMD is planning on sending their little pep band. tUMD will just have to play the beersong double to make up for UND's absence.

Well, the cover has Junior Lessard and Beau Geisler - the two seniors of impact and the headline is "Fabric of the Community - Duluth embraces it's team like no other." So I'm assuming it's about those two and their time in Duluth. Both have good stories, such as Lessard almost drowning last summer in a riptide in Lake Superior. Geisler has 13 brothers and sisters and is from the range, and his life story was in the Thanksgiving Day Star Tribune about how his mom died of cancer and he was left to help his Dad bring up 12 other children. Hello Sioux fans (specifically PCM?)- I was wondering if you could help me. I remembered this thread, and came back and dug it up. The current issue of USCHO the Magazine has UMD on the cover and I'd like to get a copy without buying a subscription. Does the Ralph Pro Shop sell the magazine all year long, or did they just sell the issue with the UND players on the cover? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yeah it works... I'd say there are probably about 500 more season ticket holders there on Saturday. I think most of the Friday holders have both nights... Saturday attendence is always much higher regardless of opponent... I don't know if that can all be attributed to the Sat season ticket holders but its a large chunk..

Yeah, you can buy Friday only, Saturday only or both. Since a large chunk of the tUMD crowd is out of towners, many just purchase the Saturday package.

Well I expect diehards like yourself to get tickets, but not that many people. I'd say there were over 1,000 Sioux fans.... There will be a few less tonight since there are more Bulldog season ticket holders on Saturdays... Met some nice UND folks last night. Time to tap the keg.

One Sioux guy tried running a lap. He didn't get too far before the cop took him out. I think he was let back in after a little lecture. He didn't make it to the student section unfortunately. The atmosphere wasn't that great. The first goal really took the wind out of the sails. There were TONS of UND fans there. How they got that many tickets I will never know. More Sioux fans last night than UMTC has ever had here... Hopefully a different outcome tonight - first goal will be key again.

Sioux are too big - we can't clear them out in front of the net. The Sioux Drinking Team sucks tho.,....

Both Dollar Stores and Walmart sold out of them. Our group of 4 bought one Dollar Store out of them - about 40 brooms worth. They weren't too happy. There will be plenty of full size brooms this weekend since we can't bring them into the DECC, but IF tUMD wins Friday, it'll be tough finding a whisk broom in Duluth!

Excuses already? Good thing Mapletoft doesn't play for the Sioux anymore or the Dogs wouldn't stand a chance...

I would say something about how brooms are not allowed in the DECC anymore but I'd probably be labeled as threatening Sioux fans not to bring them or something.... Shepard is reffing this weekend. It will come down to tUMD's PP vs. UND's PK and it's anyone's guess which one will come out ahead.

Parise, you guys need to settle down. For the love of Zach I hope you guys cheer your lungs out this weekend - that's what being a great fan is all about. The whole lap talk has been exhausted. I don't expect anyone to do it, and I expect no problems... Let's move on.... Someone made the comment about the Sioux rolling 4 lines and wearing the Dogs down. tUMD also rolls all 4 lines regularly and the 4th line has provided a huge scoring boost this season. I think the depth of the two teams is nearly equal.

And I'd like to think Sioux fans are better than to be that disrespectful... Hope this is all much ado about nothing. Ask the UMTC fan from last year if he liked being bloodied up by the students. He tackled our Bulldog mascot right in front of the student section. Not the smartest move. A couple haymakers later he was bleeding from his ear and being led out in handcuffs.
