I can't believe louisville let this bum pitino stick around for as long as they did. it took him what 12 years to win a title there. this guy is horrible.

don't get me wrong, we lose a ton with kinight and kristo gone. but maybe next years could have an easier time gelling together as there won't be 6 months spent trying to find one player to fit on a certain line thus wreaking havok with the other line combos. I have a feeling next years team could advance farthr than the last two. I am fulling expecting a slow start and an unbelievable finish.

really? with the move to the new conference some of the series will have the feel of a non-conference since we haven't played them in a while(miami and western mich). I like our mix in the non-conference area next year. some heavy weights and some not so heavy weights.

we have to keep in mind that hockey has the longest season out there and you don't want to start adding 2-3 more weeks to the season. first round top 16 best of three at higher seed, scond round has two super regionals and then the frozen four. you add one more week to the season and solve most attendence/atmosphere issues.

go back about 4 years ago to november 2008, UND just came off a tie and a loss to duluth and essentially that week the main arena at the ralph was closed off, some kind of closed door practice or puckless practice or something along those lines occured. I'm pretty sure that they weren't a walk in the park.

if you played a womens hockey regional or frozen four at a neutral site the attendence would be beyond horrific, which is what it is now.

I can see them doing a best two of three in the first round, but not in the second round.

in this entire argument let's don't leave denver out. they have 7 national titles(same as us) and 2 more since, michigan, north dakota and minnesota have won their last. UND WILL one(or more) in the next five years. heck I wouldn't be surprised if next years team does as they seem to happen when no thinks they will. both 97 and 2000 were unexpected.

back in 2002 when the gophers won their first of back to backs they did so in the 12 team region format as mafia man eluded to. they were a two seed which meant one win and you are in the frozen four. the second in their back to back came under the current format. both of blais' titles were under the 12 team format as well. under gino someone correct me if I am wrong but wasn't it a best of three on higher seed home ice and winner of that went to frozen four. very different eras.

which is why I am okay with adding a robert morris here or a holy cross there. I just don't want to see a stacked nc schedule to go with our nchc schedule along the lines of bc,bu,notre dame and minny/wisc in the same year. that would be commtting scheduling suicide.

at this point I think you could flip flop und and denver, but denver could have a few less ?'s with scoring heading into the season. this conference is sick. the one thing I fear going into this conference is everyone will be beating up on each other which could end up lowering pwr rankings. seriously you could win the league and have a team like cc or duluth for your first round series.

I saw somewhere that Blasi is a potential candidate to replace him. if you are Blasi do you leave Miami to goto Denver? I would say no. you have a good thing going there and a it would be a lateral move.

I often wonder why markmac or parks never got put back ont he top line. parks played with knight and kristo on the pp for most of the second half and markmac played with them during our best stretch of the first half.

I will make one argument here in the kentucky basketball one. they won the title last year, however their previous one was 14 years earlier in 1998. so even the best programs have their droughts. the wildcats have also had 18 and 20 title droughts as well.
