miami isn't your typical league doormat and the sweep is anything but guaranteed tonight. now if it was against like a tech or uaa or bsu than yeah.

can we just get off the steve johnson love fest. we all know he is a good coach,but there are reasons why he is coaching pee wee hockey now and not college hockey. if johnson really would have wanted to coach at und he could have did what he needed to do to become a candidate. if blais really wanted johnson he would be here in some capacity.

lots of hockey left, but a very real possibility this year. that possibilty lies in the fact that the nchc is having a very down year even though this is the first year. the only teams with an rpi worth talking about are scsu, duluth and und. und has got no rpi bump in beating denver, omaha, western, cc or miami. in fact splitting with denver, omaha and miami has hurt und's rpi where if those teams were even remotely good und would be in a much better position. in years past the wcha would normally have 4-5 teams in the top 20 rpi which would allow for getting a split and it not hurting you. also und's NC schedule was very weak this year with only vermont being worth a damn. add that all together with und's inconsistent play and it is very possible this is that year.

at bare min. you want to be in the top 15 as the atlantic hockey winner will be slated in the 16th spot.

well hak did say they didn't spend any extra time on specialty teams this week, guess it showed.

saunders wasn't good tonight but neither was anyone else dressed in a white jersey tonight. with as well as they have played over the last two plus months one could almost see a permoance like this coming. I mean this team has no margin for error and for two months you play that focused and don't cross that error line, it is only human nature to have a !@#$ game like this.

could be worse, I just hope this isn't the game we look back on in march and say it cost us a trip to the dance.

if you recall almighty one, I said Saunders would go 2-2 over the next four games the same as Zane would do, which I don't think is panicing. in fact where in that statement did I say Saunders was bad? I don't think saying going 2-2 over four games against two good teams is panicing nor saying someone is bad. he is 2-1 with tonights game left. I hope I was wrong and he ends up 3-1, we'll see.

I do have to ask if you are the former commish of the CCHA as you have deep support for it and are a michigan football fan at the very least...

you win this argument then. and based off the stats you have provided us maybe that makes the CCHA the best conference in the past ten years.

I said it earlier in a thread as you want to be safely in the top 10 in both versions after the conference tourneys and you should get in.

I should have stated it better as I meant Miami's tourney performance has been weak and the ccha conference was weak and I stand by that as it had 3-4 good teams and 8 teams that lack for a better term were garbage and those 3-4 good teams beat up on 8 bad teams. the WCHA had it's share of bad teams as well(UAA, TECH, BEMIDJI, MSUM and some years Duluth)

still could happen, they have enough talent to win a first round series and then win the nchc tourney for a ticket to the dance and we all know you just need a chip, a chair and a chance.

the AFC as a whole sucked in the mid 80's to january of 1998 when Denver beat the Packers they lost 12 or 13 in a row and most were never close.
