not surprising as that series is losing its luster each and every week with how these two are playing. granted DU is starting to play a little better of late.

with the big slubowski standing on his head for the weekly hot goalie excuse. however if you just can't score the hot goalie excuse should not be able to be used.

problem is und doesn't have a top line. they have what would be a second line on most teams, a third line and two fourth lines. which will make it very difficult to put a run together. let's keep in mind for those that rely on the second half surge(which happened on a regular basis prior to last season) that the teams that put together those surges had the likes of stafford, zajac, toews, oshie, duncan, frattin, malone and trupp. I don't see the level of any of those players on this squad or last years with all due repsect to kristo and knight.

they have horses, they just aren't as good of horses as we originally thought.

as far as the goaltending goes, I don't think gothberg has been that bad recently other for the sat night against omaha. as far as going 10-2 in their next six series, I think that is a huge stretch considering this team has not put back to back performances together on the same weekend to get a sweep let along have four to five sweeps in the next six series. 6-6 or 7-5 looks more realistic.

a win is a win. but this team is what it is, an offensively challenged team that is prone to mistakes(stupid penalties). they are going to struggle to score three goals all year which in turn won't lead to an over abundance of wins here on out.

I know it is only november, but und has dug itself the biggest first half hole in the hakstol era. this reminds me of michigan last year where they didn't find their game until late february and by then it as way too late. a loss tonight would pretty much put und in the role of spoiler as they play out the string

seems like every week we are sayhing this is rock bottom. this is becoming bad trend.

no one has ever said hak doesn't use it, but for people to constantly say we should have better players and have a won a title because of the ralph is stupid. does it help yes, but like someone said earlier facilities aren't the only reason recruits choose to attend a school. like I said earlier based on that logic und would have the top recruiting class every year and have all the top players every year, which we know isn't the case.

this whole new ralph thing is stupid. under that assumption shouldn't the ralph just attract recruits itself without und even scouting players? would und even have to offer scholarships as recruits would be lined up to get them on a first come first serve basis and every other team in the country gets und's leftovers? how is it that a recruit would choose another university over und becuase of the ralph? are all these kids that choose to go to another univeristy over und just plain idiots becaue they choose to play subpar conditions?

in some cases yes. having to win only three versus four I would say it is easier. how many titles has blais won under the current format?

I would even go as to say things aren't the same since 2000. there is more parity and some mock it but the playoff system is different as well. when blais won his two it took one win to get to the frozen four and there were 12 teams not 16 in the tournament. let's go back in time and in 1997 had und needed to get by michigan to make it to the frozen four how many on here would think that would have happened? instead all they needed was a win against cornell and off they went. and in 2000 they beat niagara to go to the frozen four. little easier routes then than today.

looking at the schedule best chance for a hot streak comes in the next 10 games, after that it looks like und will be a resident in splitsville , usa the rest of the way.

agree and I don't care what people say the fact it was at yost(it is very difficult to win there) doesn't make it as big as mich losing to bu or even mich beating und in 2011. those two were bigger, but not as big as minny losing to holy cross.

2011 fighting sioux beat michigan 7 out of ten times, but unfortunately not that ONE time either. in a one and done these things happen and that is the beauty of sports, on any given night.
