  1. Riley is a 1996 BY, plays in the AMHL with SSAC Athletics, the same program Dillon and Sioux commit Adam Tambellini played for.
  2. 15 fellow bloggers and I did our own little Blogger All-WCHA Poll. A link to the results is below: http://atraditionofexcellence.blogspot.com/2012/03/2011-12-blogger-all-wcha-awards.html
  3. My guess would be this weekend, based purely on his game schedule. The U-18ers play tomorrow and are then off the rest of the weekend. The WCHA weekend would be a bit more hurried and hectic - no game Friday, but games Sat & Sun.
  4. They both play a USHL and international schedule, but only the U-18ers play college teams.
  5. Per Ryan Duncan's Twitter, his Portland Pirate teammate Matt Watkins has received the call from the Phoenix Coyotes. Nothing official yet that I've seen, but Duncan is a reliable source so hopefully we'll see the 15th Sioux skate in the NHL this season, and for Mr. Tippett's squad no less!
  6. But both played in Kansas (or Kansas City, MO) at one point. Casey played for the KC Blades, Maxwell with the Wichita Wind.
  7. A potental d-man recruit is Steph Pattyn's little brother Yvan. He plays for Portage (MJHL), and was among the last cuts for Canada West's World Jr A Challenge team last November. Good size, good offensive numbers, turns 19 in March. http://www.eliteprospects.com/player.php?player=69545
  8. Here's a link to my page containing the freshly updated stats of committed Sioux recruits, along with (most) of their recruit profiles. http://atraditionofexcellence.blogspot.com/p/recruits.html
  9. Grimaldi could very well end up to be the most purely skilled player to ever attend this school. Let's hope so!
  10. Nick Schmaltz and Chris Wilkie both lineup as 2014-15 freshmen. Highly regarded recruits who could very well end up in Ann Arbor prior to attending UND. Those are the youngest recruits who have committed thus far. Guys like Caggiula, Tambellini, Voltin, LaDue, Crisfield, L. Johnson, Pelnik, and Thompson (maybe-could be a 2014 fresh as well) would be sophs then. Juniors would be Koules, Chyzyk, Schmaltz, St. Clair etc, seniors=Mattson, O'Donnell, Parks, MacMillan, Gaarder, Pattyn, etc.
  11. I read the same thing. My guess is Caggiula would be brought in first, or else a recruited walk-on.
  12. When I lived in Duluth several years ago the Dubh Linn was one of my favorites, highly recommended. Where is Carmody though?
  13. Just for fun, let's say Mac stays and Seth Jones chooses UND over Everett. How sweet would this be: MacWilliam - Jones Forbort - Schmaltz Simpson - Mattson Panzarella - Senkbeil Gleason up front...
  14. I'm staying at the Holiday Inn. It's a bit pricey, but it's got a good restaurant & bar and it's connected to the skyway that you can take to Amsoil. If price is a concern, the Best Western Downtown is only a block away from the Holiday and it's usually much easier on the wallet.
  15. Well, I guess my question has been answered! Tambellini is a very nice addition to the recruiting class of 2012 or 2013, as is Chyzyk.
  16. I remember Birkholz going to the WHL, didn't know it was Everett. It will be really interesting to see what Jones elects to do. Regardless of what he decides, I commend him on how he's handled the process. He's yet to make a college commitment because, well, he has yet to commit to the college route. A undeniable talent who also seems like a really smart kid.
  17. Make no mistake, Seth Jones is an elite talent, potential #1 overall pick in 2013, and would probably be a lock for #1 if it weren't for former SSM wunderkind Nathan MacKinnon. If he attended UND for even one season, it would be a tremendous recruiting victory for North Dakota/college hockey. On the downside, he recently Tweeted about how he hates the cold... What's the weather like in Everett?!
  18. That's great to see. It took some time for him to get into a groove after missing the first part of the season with injury, but he's been producing pretty regularly lately.
  19. My 2 cents? Over the last two games Knight's line has 12 points. The staff can switch it up within the game if the situation dictates as much. Otherwise, leave the lineup as it is so the other three lines can continue to develop their own chemistry, which the top line obviously already has.
  20. Ive got two tickets available for sale for each night of the Wisconsin series. $30/ticket/game. Section 314, Row G, Seats 23-24 Email me if interested: shumake12@hotmail.com
  21. Kristo will also be able to utilize the Wheeler/Gregoire Rule since he played a year with Omaha after he was drafted. The thought of becoming a free agent might be enough to sway him to leave, but who knows. If that top line were to stick together next year they could put up some HUGE numbers.
  22. I was just getting set to post the same thing about Voltin's tweet, but you beat me to it! Regardless, it's good news as the two Lukes headline what looks to be a very solid 2013 class.
  23. Thompson is a late '95 who was a freshman at DLHS last season. Voltin is a high school junior this year who is projected to come to UND in 2013, with Thompson coming in 2014 unless, like you said he, he accelerates his education.
