  1. Yes, EGF has several players w/alot of potential. As geaux_sioux & Schlossman have mentioned, FR Tanner Tweten is one to keep an eye on. SO Dixon Bowen is VERY intriguing, along with Colton Poolman & Eddie E... Also for the GF HS crowd: I'm in FGO, saw RR's Jacob Benson against Fargo Davies and wasn't overly impressed (though I came in with high expectations for him). How's he been this year?
  2. Additionally, it's nice to get another of the local/regional kids (Poolman, Johnson, Thompson, LaDue, etc., and now Poganski) versus the guys UND has had de-commit recently, i.e. Matteau, Koules, Lemieux, Miller.
  3. Obviously from St. Cloud, plus his father is an alum of SCSU.
  4. Yes, a very good recruit. 9th rated forward at last summer's U-16 Player Dev. Camp by USHR: We did not have a ton of prior knowledge of the St. Cloud Cathedral forward, but he really jumped out at us. A tall, lanky winger with great legs and an explosive first step, we are told that the NTDP is considering him for the final forward spot on the U17 Team. Was named to the Five Nations U17 team. A top uncommitted college prospect who is only going to get better as he fills out.
  5. 1997 Tarek Baker, Omaha U-16's worth keeping an eye on. Impressive player, rumblings of UND interest.
  6. A pair of tickets for sale for the Friday night game (Dec 7) vs. Denver. Section 314, Row E, three and four seats in from the aisle. $40 per ticket DM or email if interested: fightingsioux1@hotmail.com
  7. Stecher was very noticeable last weekend against Vernon (not always a positive for a defenseman, but in this case, it was a good thing). He was once committed to UNO, but is back on the NCAA market. Also thought he was really good at the WJAC, he would be a very nice addition to the UND d-corps.
  8. Don't get me wrong, Murphy will be a great get as well. Tambellini just seems to think the game better, is blessed with great size, and is very good defensively. I've seen Murphy play several times this year now and the only knock on him is that he's taken poor penalties late in a couple of close games. That being said, it's a very small sample size and he's definitely a gamer who is ALWAYS around the puck. He should also be really good for UND. Not sure what happened to the font in my post above...break out the magnifying glasses for that one.
  9. Regarding Gropp, I believe he is very much wanting to go the collegiate route (for now at least...). I'd think the biggest competition for him is CC, which is where his dad played (not that all kids follow in their father's footsteps though). BTW, I watched Penticton play Vernon last Friday, and Gropp is the real deal. For a kid that just turned 16, he's not a bit out of place in the BCHL. Lots of upside. Tambo, Murph, and Crisfield all looked good as well. I'm probably most excited about Tambellini, he's going to be very good at UND.
  10. If you think Grimaldi needs to be added to the "pull your weight group" then you need to re-evaluate your hockey eval skills. He is the real deal, leaves 100% on the ice at all times. Big-time difference maker. Outside of #7, he's this teams biggest threat to score.
  11. I have a pair of tickets available for the Friday night game (Nov. 16) of the UMD series. Sec 314, Row E, Seats 38-39 (three seats in from the aisle). Price is $80 for the pair. If interested DM me or email at: fightingsioux1@hotmail.com
  12. I've heard McCoshen is leaving the OHL door open, thus the delay in his decision. Similar to the way Seth Jones handled the process.
  13. FWIW, Miles Koules is off to a nice start with Medicine Hat. 12 points (5G, 7A) in 14 games, T-3rd on team in scoring. Been very good on the PP, but is struggling ES with a -8.
  14. UND’s lines 29 Bryn Chyzyk–16 Mark MacMillan–13 Connor Gaarder 9 Drake Caggiula–19 Rocco Grimaldi–17 Colten St. Clair 26 Coltyn Sanderson–28 Stephane Pattyn–11 Derek Rodwell 4 Derek Forbort–24 Jordan Schmaltz 18 Dillon Simpson–20 Joe Gleason 5 Nick Mattson–22 Andrew Panzarella 33 Clarke Saunders 31 Zane Gothberg Anchorage’s lines 29 Scott Allen–21 Matt Bailey–17 Jordan Kwas 23 Kory Roy–40 Daniel Naslund–10 Brett Cameron 20 Hayden Trupp–9 Blake Tatchell–12 Alex Gellert 19 Bobby Murphy–26 Tyler Currier–18 Chris Crowell 7 Austin Coldwell–3 Derek Docken 8 Scott Warner–22 Blake Leask 13 Quinn Sproule–5 Austin Sevalrud 35 Chris Kamal 33 Rob Gunderson
  15. He was cited for a minor and failure to halt at the beginning of the school year. This is the in-house discipline.
  16. Keaton is a really nice looking player. Poised with very good skating ability, he's going to be a good one. Wouldn't be surprised to see him sneak into the first round. I asked Craig Button tonight who he liked off of Team USA, and he replied "Your guy," in reference to Thompson.
  17. I caught Mantha and Sioux City in Fargo a couple weeks ago and his skating was fine. Haven't seen Evers live, but I've seen some iso video of him and again, skating should not be a concern.
  18. And the two biggest, Mantha (6'5") & Evers (6'4"), are only 16 & 15 respectively, so they're probably not even done growing yet.
  19. Could Evers become the first-ever Iowa native to play for North Dakota? I can't think of any others off the top?
  20. Via Twitter, UND got a commitment from 1997 Defenseman Christian Evers. Very nice prospect, big kid. Here's a blurb on Evers from Chris Dilks: Christian Evers-D-Omaha Lancers U16-Already a huge kid, listed at 6'4", and clearly the top D on a team with a pretty strong defense. Very good hands and feet for a player of his size. Definitely a big time prospect.
  21. I've heard the 6'4" is a bit of an exaggeration, that he's actually 6'2". But nonetheless, that kind of size with a lot of skill is a nice package. As far as Mantha is concerned, he is as advertised - very big kid. I saw him play in Fargo a couple weeks ago, had a nice game and he has some very solid offensive instincts as evidenced by a couple of nice stretch passes he delivered. You can tell he once played forward.
  22. Update on the ticket listing: Boston U. & Wisconsin tickets have been sold.
