Is everyone out fishing for the weekend?

I hope the Sioux do well in 2003 - 2004. I think that the coaching staff and fans should be thinking about how strong the team may be but I think it is the best when the team overachieves and gets it done like 97 and 2000... I would love to see another group of sioux seniors get two rings. I think they can do it if they win the tough games that they have on the schedule and win the ones that they should win. By the end the good sophmores and freshman will help the remaining sioux seniors get some more big wins in the playoffs. Hold on and enjoy the ride. I think coach enjoys overachieving as much as we enjoy watching it. The boys will be ready and it should be a great year next year. ONE GAME AT Time HECK one shift at a time..

26 would be a good # of wins and a good # for Captain too!

I want Spiewak and Notermann to play like they did in Albany all year next year that would be pretty exciting to watch... I know Jason Notermann has always showed up and made a difference for his team.

Zach is a very good player as is Murray but to put him in as a savior is a bit much. I hope we can work him in slowly and as rapidly as he is comfortable not the other way around.

Kuchina, Michigan had a much more veteran Defense.. Schneeks and Mazzy didn't have bad years but are not killers like Komisarek and Vanek. They are more like O'Connell and Commie.. Enforcers around so the youngster feel comfortable.. We had killers the problem was they were freshman too! They couldn't help make others comfortable when they weren't yet.. David Hale suffered thru a tough summer with illness and then the loss of his mother. I look for this next season to be a great one for him. I think it is obvious that Freshman dmen do not adjust as fast as forwards do..

I hope the WCHA representative MN wins it.. I hope John Pohl has a great weekend as he is a gladiator and a great leader. For him not to be a Hobie Candidate is a shame, Kinda like Jeff Panzer not making it... I really hope that Woogs recruits Pohl, Leopold, Welsh, Anthony, Angel, Hauser, Taffe, Riddle get the job done for Coach Lucia... he is a great coach.. Heck Asst. Coach Bob Motzko is a great coach as is Guentzel.. Go Gophers smoke Michigan if they don't I can only hope they lose to Michigan so Michigan can eradicate the Eastern Plague ' And if Michigan or Minnesota can't win I am pulling for Tom Reimann and the Black Bears if MN and Michigan can't win let it be The Maine Black Bears. If the Black Bears get Beat we will be stuck with New Hampshire. I don't have any feeling for that team at all I just don't have a feel for them at all...

Last night Tim Skarperud scored a pure hattrick to lead his Grand Rapids Griffins to a 4-3 win. Tim scored the first 3 goals of the game and spotted Grand rapids to a 3-0 lead. Bryan Lundbohm scored the first goal for the Admirals. Way to go Tim!!!!!

First thing is they need to be strong enough to win in the 3 on 3 battles down low and not turn the puck over in own end.

Who would the four sophmore centers be. I think Spiewak, sr Lundbohm, jr Fournier, soph, may need to be wing Rory McMahon for sure he was great at the end. What other Soph center besides Colby. I am not clear on who you are thinking of...

I've heard he is pretty good. But he told me! He seems to be a real nice kid and has confidence and seems to be aching to play... I hope he makes us forget last year. I hope he pumps in several big goals..

I will miss Ryan's hard work and steady confidence. Good Luck and thanks for the great years here for the Sioux.. Go get em and I hope we see you in the NHL next year..

That's what I was referring too! I am sure the #'s are inaccurate. I am also sure it isn't a conspiracy. It is good the young guys think they did good but I would rather they knew the truth and were ready to correct it...

Kuhninca, I think you have to respect Speez for taking your constant rips from a far in stride. Speez where is the WCHA final five and NCAA regionals and Frozen four going to be next year. I can't believe we are not going to be involved this year. I hope coach can quit talking about 2003-2004 and starts talking about the next shift again.

Way to go Karl!! I can't believe Panzer and Ulmer were not on the list either but there are quite a few former greats from the Sioux!!!

How can we have so many + dmen and have a losing season.. Looks like we gave up some goals with 5 forwards out there!! Stats are stats... Playing the game in the 3rd period and deciding a win or a loss that is the difference. I think our team found a way to lose a lot of close ones this year and we kind of self-destructed again on Saturday and especially Friday. Where do you guys see the team feel like they are going to make it happen. On the 6 on 4 the veteran guys were out there the guys that had seen it happen before. Bayda, Skarperud, Lundbohm, Mazurak, Schneekloth, Speiwak.... I think Mazurak was hurt and not as effective as he was in the past due to injury only! He will be hard to replace and was a great player for the Sioux. I will miss watching him. Aaron Schneekloth was a real good player on the point on the Power Play. He will be missed, He was our best there. We need to work some other guys there Bayda, Notermann, D. Hale, We need to find a QB on both PP units.. Maybe Fournier on one and I don't know who on the other... That will be the key turning the special teams around. Andy Kollar was awesome on Saturday night and in Grand Forks vs Denver.. I am so happy for him to go out on a strong performance. He is a great kid Good Luck Andy!!!

The third goal came when Leopold threw a desperation shot from the wall and the D-man turned to watch Josh mishandle the puck instead of covering Pohl. On the fourth Goal the Sioux D-man was all alone with that great forward from Baudette.

What do you guys think about the article in the GF Herald about Canady. I don't usually highlight the guy that got 9 minutes in penalties when my team was up two goals vs the Gophers. I don't think the Sioux teams in the past made those kind of mistakes and then got embellished in the paper the next week. I guess if we are the Charlestown Chiefs it is time to find another team to back! I think this team has found a way to lose more than once. It is contagious. I have never seen a Sioux team not cover a guy in front of the net for three goals before. Backhand passes from the wall turning into tying and gamewinning goals is unacceptable and inexplainable.. Tired or not it is not that hard to cover your man in front of net while the other teams is making desperation centering passes...... I think it is unbelievable. I was in Wisconsin on Saturday night and I thought that was unbelievable. But this Saturday night in Grand Forks was the worst. Canady may have gotten a dumb penalty there too! Then write up the brain-dead forward that wore out your team on Saturday night and annoint him Captain. I would rather have a kid like Pat O'Leary he was honest, tough and not cheap. He could play physical but wouldn't use his stick with no respect. I have seen Canady when challenged put his tail between his leg and run after hitting someone I know in the mouth with his stick. I even asked a former Sioux assitant coach if in fact he was recruiting soft guys as he ran away from someone close to me after hitting him in the face with his stick.. I think it is chicken s&!t to hit someone with your stick when you know that you aren't going to get your butt kicked because of the fighting rules in college hockey and that it is a disgrace to have him written up as some sort of great player. I insist toughness is good but you can't endanger others with reckless stick work IE; Ballard and Greene from Alaska. Both of those were total b s......~!!!!

Great Post that pretty much lays it out there for the fans to watch and the players to shoot for.

I hope Mark Osiecki gets a good shot at it or Donny Granato... I bet Dean won't miss Mr. Sauer as the Badgers have the best record against the Sioux in WCHA since Dean has been coach here.
