  1. Weird. I saw some Habs fans saying that Kristo is dumb for coming back for his senior year, because last year's team was supposed to win and if we couldn't win it last year, we have no chance next year. Apparently, they heard that Brock Nelson and Ben Blood were both leaving school early to go pro, so they are experts...
  2. My mistake. The main feeder to the NHL, the AHL, mandates visors for new players. Most NHL players wear them(69.4% according to this poll), and almost all rookies. Eventually everyone will. So, I guess you can cling to the few guys that are grandfathered in to not wearing a visor, but it seems like you're grasping at straws.
  3. If the only knock on that hybrid visor/cage is that it looks different/funny, then I think it's a pretty good idea. Only an immature buffoon would complain about the looks of them, and miss the fact that they work so much better. People would get used to the look. I think they look kinda sick, already. The NHL didn't used to mandate visors or helmets, but now they do. Eventually, they will mandate full facial protection. I am right. Just give in to it.
  4. Yeah, you were laughing at your own post. Good for you, sweety.
  5. Nice "dad humor" You even laughed at yourself and everything.
  6. You were whining about some imaginary people telling professional players what safety equipment to wear, when nobody is actually telling pros what to do. At the same time, you are advocating rules changes that are real and are being considered, as we speak, so I think it's on you and those who share your view to explain to everyone why this change is necessary.
  7. I don't know. I haven't said anything about seat belts. This thread is about college hockey rules changes. If you support college hockey going away from the full cage mandate, why don't you defend your opinion? You're the one that wants to change the status quo, not me.
  8. This is what the NHL should use.
  9. I thought we were talking about college hockey rules changes.
  10. Why do pros wear a cup? What are they scared? They should just quit hockey if they're scared like that, don't you agree?
  11. I respect the hell out of them, but just watch, they will turn their heads, or they will hold up in the corners. When your face, the window to your soul, is out in the open with pucks and elbows and sticks flying around, you are going to instinctively try to protect it. You guys have said it before, when you have a full cage you play more recklessly (with high sticks), so you will agree with that, right? So, all the refs would have to do is call the high sticks when they happen, and the players will adjust the high sticks, but they will still play with that recklessness that you play with when you wear a full cage, and the game will be way more intense. Have at it, guys. I'd love to hear how gay I am and how little I know about hockey.
  12. You're getting upset, because you have no argument. Why don't you stick to your story about how players can't see if they wear a full cage. Which makes sooo much sense because goalies have full cages and they don't need to be able to see what's going on , right?
  13. I'd love to see a few teams in the NHL all wear full cages for a year or two, and see if the full cage teams are able to play better and with more confidence, instead of constantly trying to protect their faces. I would be proved right, of course, but the NHL and its players are as dumb as ScottM, and their fear of being labeled as weak keeps them from seeing the possible benefits. It's funny, it's always the ones that try to constantly put out this aura of toughness that are the most fearful people.
  14. Careful, the resident Gopher fan is going to call you a country bumpkin.
  15. Is that a veiled gay joke? I guess that's been the counter-argument all along. If you want to wear a full cage or if you think hockey players should wear full cages, you're gay. . . I think you guys just want no cages so you can see the player's faces better.
  16. Oooh. scary.
  17. Thanks for proving my point. Feel you don't have a strong argument? Insult and attack the messenger, instead of attacking the idea they are communicating. (funny thing is, even NHLers wear more protection than that kid, so you've proven me right twice with one post)
  18. He's trolling. You can't take anything he says at face value. It's all a piece of performance art.
  19. Why don't you watch UFC if you enjoy seeing people get hurt for no real reason? Why do NHLers always turn their heads when they go to block a shot? Are they all pussies now, because "a little blood makes them uneasy" How bout I hit you in the face with a puck or a stick? then you can do your internet tough guy routine. I love all the macho men on this site that like to pretend they are as tough as NHL players, and try to live vicariously through them. You're not out there taking the abuse in the toughest, best hockey league in the world, so quit talking like you know anything about it. Just because you talk a good game of how tough you are, and how you don't care about injuries or whatever, it falls flat coming from some guy on the internet.
  20. We had to do something after the Big Ten schools selfishly abandoned their leagues. The Big Ten Hockey Conference is reaping the lion's share of the benefits from the shake up, and people (esp. Gopher fans) have the balls to blame it on us? I hope Big Ten schools fail miserably.
  21. Chipped paint? haha, come on Dave, you're not even trying anymore. But, oddly, you've never been funnier.
  22. Way to go, Bernier. Goodbye, Stanley Cup, but at least you sent a message, right? 2-0 Kings with over 2 minutes left in the 5 minute major. edit: Now 3-0 with 8 seconds left in the major penalty.
  23. Dude, you need to quit saying people don't understand hockey, because they disagree with you. There are a lot of people that know a lot about hockey on this site. You're not special.
  24. Nope, nobody cares about concussions in this day and age. Get with it, old man.
