Greene has been silently working in scouting and player development for the kings since he was bought out of his contract. As much as I'd like to see him come coach, he just doesn't have the time built up and IF hired, he will be destined for failure (not from his own doings either). Jeff Blashill is an interesting candidate that has had his name thrown around though.

I don't think it excludes him like we would think. It just means that he will have to go through the process like anyone else, nothing wrong with that and I actually find that to be a more thorough way of vetting the next coach. This is a make or break hire for Chaves, so he has to nail it. If Dane is the guy, so be it but at least Chaves left no stone unturned.

You are probably way to young to know, so I'll give you a pass.
-
If that were the case, no one would be available except for retreads (Hak, Jackson, Karl, etc.). The game has changed and it starts with finding a talented young coach(s) that can get out and recruit/relate to these young players.
-
1. he isn't coaching in Fargo, Brett Skinner is the coach. 2. if you haven't heard by now, it's no use in explaining it to you.

It's just like the football hiring process. They named an Interim coach but then a few days later they had Schmidt. These two major coaching hires are the most crucial hires of his career at UND. It seems like he hit the nail on the head with Schmidt, so let's see who he comes up with for hockey. If he misses on either one of these hires (time will tell), I am of firm belief that he will be gone.

Nope. There is a reason Hak didn't renew his contract back the first time.
-
I was never in on Firing Hak as I thought it was pretty stupid. What happened with Berry is what I feared the most. We sold our soul out for 1 national championship and the rest of the years of mediocrity.
-
I would assume it will be like how the football application process went.
-
The large donors had to know that this was coming. With early out of conference losses against teams far less superior than UND's program, it was only a matter of time. Attendance was starting to dwindle and revenue had to have been suffering too.

Most of the mouth breathers can't read between the lines and believe that unicorns are real.
-
Should people have to "read between the lines" when it comes to reporting? Some folks believe this is 1950 still and "the most trusted man in america" Walter Cronkite is delivering the news.
-
That's his style and its why I stopped reading his stuff. It's the same with Goon's writing, they are both are good writers but refuse to acknowledge when things are not good.
-
Of course he will. In his defense though, no reporter in the GF area is going to say anything bad about anyone.
-
Exactly. I’m not sure why everyone thinks it’s personal and we hate him.
-
UND would get trashed big time if they let him go if he takes them to the frozen four or wins it all. If they are going to move on from him, they need to do it now (I don’t think UND will).

Ralph didn’t want Gino fired but the AD/President did anyway and that turned out pretty good. I sure hope she doesn’t get a vote.
-
No you didnt
-
Because NFL football is MUCH more popular than hockey. Example: they have whole events and talk about the NFL draft for months and you’d be lucky to hear about the NHL draft.
-
Don’t forget parity!

Those are the “real fans” that Chaves will listen to when he extends Berry another 3 years. honestly that site is god awful. Those people are basically mouth breathers.
-
Who cares what the other NCHC teams did this year. We couldn’t take care of our business and that’s why our season is done with.

Pretty sure the portal opens for non-grad transfers on March 30th

1st round picks get you so far. It's the other players that get overlooked for a variety of reasons that put you in a great position to win. It's the Troy Stetcher, Drake Caggiula, Cole Smith, Mario Lamoureux, Jordan Kawaguchi, Riese Gaber, Ryan Duncan type players that get you over the hump.

You mean to tell me an NIL deal couldn't get him to stay
