  1. the next four games the vikings have too are againts mid level teams; San Fran, Chicago, Denver, and Washington. The way the Vikes are playing i wouldnt be surprised if they went 9-7 or even 10-6!
  2. anyone other than me remember that the Vikings beat the Giants 41-17 last week? and returned 4 INTs for TD? just wondering
  3. god your so full of knowledge...you should become a hockey coach! you must've been one of those kids that was always picked last in gym class.
  4. woog vs blais! what a way to start a series!
  5. weak slap hitter? i dont care what anyone says, as long as you get on base and let your big hitters get you home i am happy with that. You would think though with Santanas track record and age the Twins could command a little bit more out of a team, thats my opinion.
  6. So still some rumors about Santana going to the Red Sox, I dont know who all the players would be but one name keeps popping up is Coco Crisp. With the new addition of Young to the Twins would it be stupid for the Twins to add Crisp? What about adding a new 2nd baseman and move casilla over to SS?
  7. Everyone likes to chirp when you are between the lines, boards, hardwood, you name it players will chirp! I would say that the girls could be the boys but thats comparing apples to oranges, girls hockey and guys hockey is 2 different games and its pretty hard to compare the two. I believe Warroad played the USA womens NATIONAL team and (played by womens rules too...I think) beat them a few years ago.
  8. You wouldnt put Mauer as your leadoff guy would you? I would put him at maybe a 3 spot in the line-up with some speed at the 1-2 spot then work your way down with mauer, young, morneau, cuddyer, kubel, however you want them guys.
  9. IDK if this is the same deal you are talking about but the trade involves...Matt Garza, Jason Bartlett, and Juan Rincon to the Rays for Delmon Young, Brendan Harris, and Jason Pridie.
  10. its a dead link
  11. His leadership was very well known, you didnt need to be in clubhouse to know...plus I know the equipment manager for the twins and i also have met Torii and had a few drinks with him and Matt Brunson (9th overall draft pick, 2nd infielder taken after A-Rod, drafted same year as Torii Hunter), so I do know what his personality is like. I am not arguing the fact that they should've kept him, I agree with his age and the long contract he wanted it would've been stupid for the Twins to succumb to his demands. There are other outfielders that can take over CF just as good and are younger. That is the Twins motto...give younger players a chance. I have heard some rumors that Erstad might be in a Twins Uniform next year, hopefully this isnt true because it would be a big mistake just like R. White was!
  12. Whoever place CF next year for the Twins will not even come close to Torii! Torii was the FACE of the TWINS and he gave it is all day in and day out. The thing that the Twins will miss the most is his clubhouse presense! Torii understood how the Twins did business (i.e. small ball, hit and run, stuff like that) and when players got a little big headed he brought them back down to earth (see Torii punching Morneau).
  13. Beating the likes of the Yankees and Red Sox...I dont think the Rays can but who knows! It would be nice to see them win the division. I have heard on some websites though (I would have to look back into it again) that Kazmir has been mentioned in a few trades. God I can't wait for Baseball to start again!
  14. I thought the Royals were on the right track a few years ago when they were contending late into the season, but for some reason they just fell apart after that. Being around professional baseball teams for the past two years, its pretty hard for a team to build a farm system with just draft picks, in reality only a handful of players that get drafted actually make it to the show. What the Royals and Pirates should do is suck for a few more years but stick with the young players but go scout players that are playing in independent leagues because there is some really good talent that is just waiting to be signed. What I meant about the Meche signing was that that contract set the standard for an average pitcher. An average pitcher isnt worth 55 million for 5 years. The D-Rays for some reason are a team that is on the rise. They diffently need to get some more quality pitchers, not flashy guys, just guys who can eat up some innings without doing any damage. Will they ever get out of the AL East...prolly not but a wild card berth is a realistic goal in the next few years.
  15. Arizona is becoming the Kansas City Royals and it is starting to piss me off.... Eric Byrnes is not worth 32 million over 3 years, just like Gil Meche is not worth 5 years 55 million either.
  16. Who knows, I guess Hak said that they wont be bringing in anyone next semester, we will have to see how he progesses...maybe he is a diamond in the rough! I am not saying he will ever be a number one goalie but a 3rd string goalie isnt a bad way to spend your college years. Will Hak bring in TWO goalies next year? I doubt it but thats my opinion. They have a SOLID Goalie coming in next year in Eidsness so I am not too worried about the goalie situation too much.
  17. Unfortunately soohockey15, i am with you on some things but not all. In hindsight the Twins MAY be better off with Santana but how far can you win with prospects? Prospects only get you so far and when you reach the playoffs you need leadership. Also it was not smart of the Twins to just let Hunter go because what did they get in return?...13 years of service and a wave goodbye! The least the Twins couldve done is traded him during the season and get something back in return because we all know he was not going to resign in Minnesota. The only pitcher that is probably going to get traded would be Nathan, the Twins will not pay him Francisco Cordero money when they have Neshek waiting in line that is fully capable of the closer duties. If the Twins DO get rid of a young pitcher it wont be for a speedy outfielder or let alone an OF, it will probably be for a bat, which the Twins are in need of. You did hit right on with Liriano not pitching much in '08. Although it seems that Liriano is coming back at regular speed there is one thing we wont see much of this year is his slider. With the slider putting A LOT of strain on a persons elbow I am sure the Twins pitching staff will limit him when the season starts. I wont put much thought into Liriano pitching that much this year to make too much of a difference. As of today the 5 starting pitchers would look something like this(not in this order)...Santana, Baker, Garza, Slowey, and Bonser.
  18. How do you get all these items(skates, sticks, etc...)? There isnt any auction for these items like they do for the jerseys is there?
  19. Do you think I want type all of that, I know what it all means. Your just pissed that I know what I am talking about. Have a good day!
  20. First, the field is divided into 22 slices, with each one starting at home and going to the outfield fence. The first slice running along the left field line is Zone
  21. I wouldnt ask for your opinion if my life depended on it. Is this your own list that you came up with? Because i would LAUGH MY @$$ off if i saw your list. No, batting average and RBI's and HR dont mean crap when talk about offensive stats. Lets talk about on base percentage, or maybe slugging percentage, maybe Isop, those would be just a few things I would talk about when talking offensive stats. Get a clue SOOHOCKEY, get a clue
  22. Obviously the Coaches and Managers thought Griffey had enough merit to win one. But this argument started as why Kent Hrbek shouldve won one and you still have yet to prove that he shouldve won it. Don Mattingly was the best fielding 1st basemen of his era and he has the awards to prove it. Ask anybody that knows anything about major league baseball or works within baseball and they will tell you that Don was the right choice. oh and by they way Griffey didnt play in 111 games in 1994...he played in 103 in CF and 1 in RF and then 9 games as a DH. and in 1995 he played only in 70 games in CF and 2 as a DH Once again you didnt do your research
  23. Well when I show FACTS its kind of hard to not take me seriously. You can't argue FACTS, something some people on here dont know how to get.
  24. what, are you my mother now? I will say what I want to say when someone says stupid things!
  25. No, I just hate people who dont do some research and just say things off the top of there head. I am a huge Twins fan but i know Kent Hrbek was not the best out there and I can live with that, some people cant live with that fact and keep coming up with stupid claims of why he is better then Don. Each time he speaks he is getting dumber because he does not take the time to actually find these things out, he just thinks he is Howie Schwab and can name things right off the top of his head.
