Hard Pass....we are either good enough to play in the NCAA tournament or not. If this does happen, we might as well start handing out participation ribbons to everyone when they step foot on campus their freshman year.

I am hopeful of a second half run too but not holding my breath.

They had a nice 2nd half run last year.
Sure they did but you’re forgetting the 1st half that they had (14-6).

why do people still say that UND always has a 2nd half run? Those teams in the past are the ones who had 2nd half runs, hardly anyone on this team has been apart of a second half run. This team has dug itself into a hole in which I sadly think won’t be able to climb out of.

I made one change (split with DU): PWR 17
I made us 4 losses (Q, UMn, DUx2): PWR 8
I made us 3 losses (Q, UMn, DU): PWR 1
Getting swept by DU hurts more than we choose to admit.
I guess I was wrong on the conference game's part.

No loss is hurting us worse than our home loss to Miami
I converted the loss to Miami to a W and it only brought us up to 17th. The NCHC is so deep and usually has everyone ranked pretty high that losing a conference game doesn't hurt our PWR rankings. Non-conference games are killers compared to conference games; we just can't lose them.
-
If we didn’t lose to Arizona state and we swept bemidji, we are 16th in the pairwise.
I said this before but that loss to Arizona state is going to hurt us later on I believe. I hope I’m wrong and someone comes back to this post at the end of the year and reminds me of it.

“…from-time to-time…”
16 times this season 2:00 or less in or 2:00 or less to intermission. That is essentially coasting at both the beginning and end of periods and it needs to stop.
It’s okay, he watched the game today so he knows better.

I really hope you're not playing with sharp knives. You do know that team will score goals from time-to-time, right? It's called hockey. I watched the game today. It was a good hockey play.
Play with them all the time and still don’t agree with your statement. I know it’s called hockey but good teams can still shut the door on teams and close it out.

I am watching last night's game this morning, and IMHO I think UND played a full 60-minute games. Both teams looked pretty good. I think UND can build on this effort.
How can you say they played a full 60 min when they gave up the lead in the 3rd period once again? This team needs to learn how to slam the door shut.

My gawd as I told you BEFORE you pulled all this.
Your little group of people, who thought, who where giddy, who thought had some little kernel of knowledge others didnt... and you were hunna "Get him"
It's like you gave a lecture to Newton on gravity.... and they nodded and smiled and led you to believe you were "involved".
That's a shame, they should have been upfront, naive, a bit, a lot, gullible on yall, but its what happened, your after action reflection should show this clearly.
I hate to say I told you so but...
I told you so.
Well nothing could be further from that disgusting reality.
But ... kinda almost like everything I've said has come... to fruition.
I get your pissed all this plot didn't work to "get him" ... I hate to say I told you so but....
.........
Oooof....... wow, talk about out of touch.
What do they say about the company that you keep.?
I don't really care who "found" this information and who "gave" it to Port. The fact of the matter is, it's out there for the public to see and it needs to be addressed. Also, what is this theory you have of people out to get "him"? Berry could have 4 Natty's to his name and I would still believe most people would want answers. I don't believe (I could be wrong) that people are out there trying to get him fired.

You should have investigated more of that before this got farmed to him.
His story was Incomplete yes but worse it was selectively incomplete.
and that's not journalism is sleezeballism... and for the record as a person he is a massive pathetic piece of...

Show me on the doll where Rob Port hurt you?

Seems like there are a few "in-the-know" around here that could clear everything up as well but are more content with thinly veiled threats and insults.
As for Port's story, there are at least half a dozen people I know who could have wrote the facts out almost verbatim just a month or more ahead of time. I get why some are attacking him, but that's misguided because the mess was out there for over 2 years and could have easily been cleaned up before anyone heard about it. I also get why he's the one who wrote the story. Don't create problems for others to find and this isn't an issue.
Exactly.

Port had Berry at the microphone on Wednesday.
Port didn't show up.
Anyone who is a reporter at that presser should've asked those questions.

It sounds like you hate him more as a person than as a reporter doing his job. Is his story incomplete, yes but that's due to Berry, his daughter and the school not wanting to answer simple questions. The local media has long protected the hockey program (how dare you question them) and the University has a lot of damage control from the past few years to smooth over yet. They don't want to add anything else to their plate.

That article was flipping terrible. All it was was Brad trying to justify this teams crappiness with numbers and that’s what losing teams do. Brad needs to call it like it is and put the pressure (in the media) on Berry and crew. If the hockey team wants to be the “premier” sport in the area, it’s time to hold everyone to an even higher standard.

Is Port taking the criticism because he wrote about it when his peers are (pick your word: eerily, predictably, disappointingly) silent.
Of course he is, brad schlossman will never write anything negative. he’s going to his fluff pieces his whole career.

I just listened to Berry's weekly presser. Did I miss it or did no one ask him about the trademark issue?
Everyone is too nice to ask such a bold question. Brad also doesn't want to get shunned from the weekly presser either.

Friday WMU 2-1
Saturday 2-2 WMU SO win
Berry will pull out the black NODAK jerseys Saturday to salvage a Pairwise tie.
doubtful they will wear the black Nodak jerseys. Those jerseys were worn for one game, and they have a commemorative patch on them. I am willing to bet that they come into the rotation next year but with ADIDAS not doing hockey jerseys any longer who knows.

If memory serves me right, the Penn State loss also kept them out of the NCAA’s. And last years one-and-done 1 goal effort against Notre Dame was less than inspiring.
It was the sweep from Canisius in 18-19 that kept us out of the NCAA

Some things look like excuses, but they're just facts. They finished PWR 1 in back to back years, but in the first of those years the postseason was cancelled, and in the second they got screwed because their lower ranked opponent got a bye while UND played a night game the day before. No guarantees, but in normal circumstances, they probably get more than one tourney win.
The recruiting pipeline has some very nice players in it. If we assume every team adds six freshmen every year (might not be quite right in these post pandemic times), then there are something like 360 commitments every year. Do we really need a frowny face emoji after the 354 that commit elsewhere?
I'm gonna guess they didn't fade at the end of either of the PWR 1 years, as it would seem to be almost impossible to have accomplished that with a fade, and I know they didn't last year, as it was the big second half run that won the unexpected third title. Now if you mean from 2017-2019, you may be right, but that would seem to indicate they fixed that issue.
I will grant you that this year has sucked so far. I hope they can turn it around.
The 20-21 season the were #2 in the final PWR rankings. You also need to stop with that damn excuse of them losing because the other team got a bye.
