Glad we're on the same page. It's absolutely justified to be frustrated right now. We all are. But what in God's green earth will firing Berry do? Nothing. People are bummed about our pipeline (I love our pipeline. We need MORE players, but I love it) for some reason and that, I guess, could be a part of it, but it's wild to me that people legit think he deserves to be fired.
You fire him midseason, what does that do? The team will still be struggling anyway and maybe some of those recruits that were on the way decommit and then what do we do.

We're blaming him for not needing to be better in the second half because they haven't had to? Absolutely does not mean they cannot. Seeing the statistics around their struggles gives me hope, but also adds to an incredible amount of frustration.
Other than stopping silly turnovers in the defensive and neutral zone, I have yet to be able to pinpoint why we're losing. It's certainly not a lack of talent. I won't buy that.
In Berry's short tenure here, he has either lead his team out the gate or they just struggled the whole season, there was never an in between in my eyes.
You are correct that the talent is there, but I just don't think this team is a team like ones from the past. When I hear stories that they don't hang out outside of hockey that seems odd to me (if it is true) and it translates out onto the ice. -

I think the entitlement sentiment, for me at least, is when we talk about firing Berry. Based on one half of the season, a big chunk of the fanbase not just wants him to be fired, but think he should be. I think it's crazy and yes, totally unreasonable to think he should be fired.
I honestly don't see any regression, so to say. Underperformance, absolutely. Lack of progression that we desired, sure. But, who's regressing? Not trying to start a pissing match, but I'm just curious to hear who people think have gotten worse as a player.
I don't like the "fire berry" chants just like I never liked the "fire hak" chants.

I don't agree that there's been no progress. With that said, it's hasn't been enough. We're too far into the season to be playing with poor defensive effort, consistently silly turnovers, and bad goaltending. This team absolutely has the talent to turn it around. Will it? We'll find out and that's all I'm saying. We're saying absolutes like we're going to get swept in the quarters and then expanding into a potential multi-year struggle based on one half of the season. We've legitimately saved seasons with second half surges MANY times. All we have to do is get in and we have a shot with Fargo.
Dave Hakstol has saved many seasons with second half surges; we have not seen them with Berry in his time here.

Interesting that you took the statement to be about one particular fan base...
Why would we be talking about other schools fanbases in a 22-23 university of north dakota hockey season forum?

3 adjectives to describe fan bases: entitled, impatient, unreasonable....
It's not unreasonable to ask for better play from the players and better coaching. How are we entitled as a fanbase? Because we expect the team and coaches to perform at the highest level, like they are supposed to? How are we impatient? We are talking about 5th year players that are regressing. No one is commenting on players like Blake or Gaber because they are preforming the way they should be.

Why are we doing this to ourselves? My goodness, ya'll. Let the year finish out.
People want to poo poo analytics, but this season could absolutely take a turn to the positive. Let's just chill out, please?
You are not wrong, the season could take a turn and become a positive. However, the last few weeks have shown that no progress has been made on the players end and there doesn't seem to be an end in sight. I pray to God that I am wrong, and they do go on a nice run, but I am being really honest with myself and what I see.

He's already got 5 star recruits coming in. I think he will turn that program around quickly.
I'm not into all that social media but it's what the kids are into now so it will play well.
He isn't treating these players like little boys, he is treating them like men and that's how it should be. A cold reality check for a lot of these players that have become accustomed to losing. Losing is not an option for Prime.

But is he, or just engaged? According to this ... he's engaged.
Sonny Weaver Jr. would've asked if all his teammates were going to be there...

Teams have down years. This program, and many others, has had its share of them. It's no fun. But it is what it is. I'm sure the Huskies would love a few natties, also Minny and Michigan too but we all know how it's been since their last one. And MN has had a quite a few down years during that span.
And what happened to their coach when he started having continuous down years?

parity has nothing to do with how crappy UND is playing g this season. So stop with that lame a$$ excuse.

Boy, I’m tempted to snag one of these for $299.23, but those Hawk patches on the shoulders look ridiculous.
Rip the patches off and put a counterfeit Sioux logo over it…

Seems like most fans are pissed off due to the pronunciation of gabers name rather than their play. What have we become as a fanbase

We can’t always be number one in the nation guys. These kids are still young and learning to play with each other. The pairwise doesn’t mean anything until the 2nd half and that’s where we shine.
It’s sarcasm for those that don’t know -

We’ll need you to change that to ‘hawkkid27’ then. I will change mine to businesshawk if you do!
I’m not going to lie, I didn’t know it was possible to change it. Also, I’d love to be 27 again

You where all way way late to this party and really it was over before you found out you weren't invited.
Can't read it due to paywall and I refuse to pay Bill Marcil Jr and his idiot folks.
However, there are a lot of unanswered questions yet, with the biggest one for me being "why TM a nickname that your dad approves the usage on". Also, why put yourself (yes, he might not have done it, but his family did it) in this situation to begin with?
I am not in the "Fire Berry Crowd" but as the prominent employee of the state and a nationally known hockey program, you know all eyes will be on you. Also, my conspiracy theory hat is on but Armacost is going to say proper answers to make the University look good no matter what. We as alumni, taxpayers and citizens should question him at all costs until there is proof because we all know UND doesn't do things the proper way.

There is one guy on there that cornered Riese at Fanfest and did a facebook live video asking if he wanted to say hi to his mom. Like seriously, what is wrong with you people!

It's so bad. So much lack of actually hockey knowledge and exaggeration of everything.
It's comical at some points. Horribly sad at others. Just the LOWEST possible reflection of our fanbase.
And for Christ's sake, can someone PLEASE teach these dummies WITH A PHONE IN THEIR HAND, how to figure out what channel the frickin' game is on lololol?!
That and please stop complaining about why other schools don't air hockey games or why Midco won't air all the games (home and away)...

Honestly, I think this is the view of our fanbase, especially actual alumni, overwhelmingly. It feels like that God awful FB group has made the "Sioux Forever" group louder than ever, but I do believe if it came down to it, people would state their allegiance towards the school, not the name. I know that's the case for my friends and colleagues, at least.
I am with you.
That group on facebook is garbage and is nothing more than non alumni who wont move on. You can tell that they only like the logo due to their willingness to sell counterfeit and non licensed products on there.- 5

Honestly after watching it a couple times, I like it even more. It puts the pressure on Deion. If he doesn’t change things with “his” guys, then it’s all on him and it’s out there for the world to see it. Anyone who’s watched a Buffs game already knows the players aren’t that great.
