I agree, I wasn't suggesting that we would have a new nickname by next year. However, since the process will begin sometime next year, I think it's important to frame the discussion around the various factors (colors, gender equity, marketing, uniqueness, etc.) that will be in play. I understand the sentiment of "Fighting Sioux forever, they'll never get me to take off my jersey", but the fact remains that the University of North Dakota will be called something else, and I think that all of the possible "something elses" should be compared with each other, and not (unfairly) compared to the name Fighting Sioux. From my (updated) blog post: I have no problem with North Dakota being the fourth team in the nation (and first in our region) to be called the Pilots, given that the name fares so strongly in every other area. Dave

Maybe this shouldn't be in SIOUX @ MSU, but I'll bite anyway... Before Gregoire went out, I had the early departure percentages as follows: Gregoire (currently a junior): 40% Blood (junior): 30% Eidsness (junior): <5% MacWiliiam (sophomore): 20% Kristo (sophomore): <5% Forbort (freshman): 20% Gregoire's injury certainly diminishes the chance that he'd give up his final year of eligibility, but it's still a possibility. Anyone else I'm missing? Any thoughts? Dave
