Did I say Lucia was in the same boat as Dean? I listed their records and accomplishments at their respective programs and that's all. What Rick was pointing out was that at least Dean was winning NCAA titles while winning WCHA titles, to which my first thought is "huh?".
-
Sorry, Rick, I have to show you the true stats here. Don Lucia's Minnesota Record: 189-86-26, 7 seasons at MN, 1 regular season title, 2 conference tournament titles, 2 NCAA titles. Dean Blais' North Dakota Record: 244-115-33, 10 seasons at UND, 5 regular season titles, 2 conference tournament titles, 3 NCAA championship game appearances, 2 NCAA titles. Bottom line: 5 regular season titles to 1. 2 conference tournament titles to 2. 2 NCAA titles to 2. Who's the better coach? I think both of them are excellent coaches and their records speak for themselves. All that being said, of course I'd rather have Dean Blais behind my bench than Lucia.

I guarantee you that if a Sioux player were up for the Hobey Baker award and just short of 1/3 of his goals were against the last-place team in the conference and UND had played them six times, Don Lucia would make that an issue when placing his vote. This award isn't about the best pro prospect or about the best player on the championship team.

On planet Neptune, maybe! That's clearly a Gopher jersey. The current Michigan yellow jerseys have the scripted "MICHIGAN" written on them, not the Michigan "M". The 1998-2002 era Michigan yellows did have the "M," but they were not shimmer material.

Great...it's Gopher fans like this that, for a moment, make me feel guilty for despising their team so much. OK, that moment is over...whew.

You mean I could have given her twenties and she'd have still put me up there? What the he** was I doing giving her fifties?

NorthDakotaHockey is my daddy, lol. Doesn't look like it's gonna happen.
-
Sorry, but when I hear the words "home movies" and "music backgrounds," the O Fortuna doesn't come to mind.

And puking at SouthGate later in the night!

I saw him at the arena on Saturday night and do give him points for actually wearing that jersey. Right on the button, though...priceless. Someone needs to make some artwork out of that: Gas and hotel money to Grand Forks: $150 Tickets to Western Regional: $63 Sitting in center-ice seats watching the Sioux play Holy Cross while your team is already back in Minneapolis: Priceless

Apparently I was on the jumbo-tron several times this weekend in addition to being on FSN and ESPN2. I was wearing a white #19 jersey with my name on the back. Was my bald head visible? I didn't see the Forum picture...got a link?

Neither was rushmore88.

I'm glad you are, termie. jloos wasn't so lucky.

I'm glad to know I wasn't the only person looking for the music info, lol. They would have to show highlights from both games to give the illusion of neutrality.

The part I found especially humorous was the "home ice" slap at Duluth and why that was the reason UMD had over 5,000 fans a few years ago at the DECC. Um...isn't Mariucci about a block away from Ridder? Apparently that's not real home ice enough.
-
Ken Kohler, Gopher fan caught wearing my Sioux jersey at the Final Five last weekend: "That's a long drive to be making to come back disappointed." He was talking about me personally. Apparently, the comment should have been directed at Gopher fans making the trip west and then north.
-
LOL...I saw that guy too and thought the same exact thing! "Someone call 9-1-1...my husband is having a heart attack! When you say Wisconsin, you've said it all."
-
Speaking of attendance, it doesn't look like Gopher men's hockey fans were rushing home Saturday afternoon so they could get a good night's sleep and head to Mariucci to support the Gopher women's team Sunday afternoon. Check out the last paragraph of this article... Wisconsin Wins NCAA Women's Title

You may have had more advertising on TV in that area than where I live. I've heard the song plenty of times, but I'm not up-to-date on classical music or the movie Excalibur. Posters are right about getting chills hearing that music paired with video and I appreciate my question being answered.

As reported on www.twincities.com today, the contract ball is in Danny Irmen's court, too. Too bad that my last memory of him in a Gopher jersey just might be me yelling at him "where's the jersey pop now, Danny?" after the Holy Cross game.

Upper Deck...WHOOOOOOAAAAAA...I'M NOT WORTHY...I'M NOT WORTHY...I'M NOT WORTHY...
