Sorry to let everyone down...I've been busy with mites hockey every Saturday and Sunday morning/afternoon along with my own broomball league play every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Sunday night. Not much time for horsing around on the internet these days...unless I'm at work!

Wasn't that the back-to-back losses at home in the WCHA first round against Wisconsin back in 1996? I seem to remember a fairly weak OT goal on Friday night and then Saturday's game ending on a slap shot from center ice that Toby had but didn't realize it, so he flicked his arm and accidentally tossed the puck just across the line with .01 left in the game. Does that jog your memory, The Walrus? I was there watching both of those games and sat stunned in the old REA for about 1/2 hour after the game had ended.

There's a better chance of the Winnipeg Predators coming down the road than there is of the Penguins moving to Winnipeg. Pitt went thru this with the Pirates a few years ago and when it comes down to it, they'll get a stadium deal done somehow. Nashville, on the other hand, well, what can you say about a city that draws 12,000 fans to see a battle with the San Jose Sharks?

You've lost me. So if Okposo goes on to score 600 career goals and Toews spends his days playing out the string with the Albany River Rats or the Houston Aeros, you'll still think Toews was better based on his draft-day position?

Hey, Vegas, open your eyes, take a look at my avatar, and you'll know who my team is. I just find it amusing that you're already proclaiming Toews as the next Gretzky or Howe. I want to see him do well and certainly hope he has as successful an NHL career as Steve Yzerman, but you never know. Whether it's the NBA, NHL, MLB, or NFL, the draft is a crap shoot. Draft position isn't a guarantee of success, even though apparently you think it is.

I guess when your own team is mired in the lower tier of the conference, that's all you can do is pick apart the team in first place.

Vegas, my guess is that you're also one of the "experts" who figured that Ron Powlus, Ryan Leaf, Andre Ware, and Akili Smith would make great NFL quarterbacks, too.

Last time I checked, Okposo & co. were both wearing the jersey I wanted to win today...that of the USA. You won't know for another 5-7 years whether or not Toews was the best player selected in last year's draft. Give me a break.
