Slightly altered your post to reflect a more likely situation...

From each according to his ability to each according to his needs...I think I've heard that somewhere before.
-
Great atmosphere...nice arena...big crowds...nice marketing (Hockey Valley)...love the football helmet stripe and contrasting name-plate on the back of the home jerseys...well played, Penn State.
-
Mariucci didn't say anything in regards to a Big 10 title this season - I don't think anyone is predicting a +.500 finish either. The financial and fan support is clearly in place, though. I agree with Mariucci - PSU will be better faster than people think.
-
I agree with you on this, Mariucci - saw some of the highlights of the PSU/Army game and the place looked like a miniature version of Penn State's football stadium crowd-wise. Playing at Penn State won't be a gimme game for anyone.

Landmark decisions in baseball...while we're at it, can we replay the 10th inning of game 2 of the Cardinals/Dodgers series too? Molina didn't make the tag on the Beltran throw in the top of the 9th!

We are up to 32 hats now...4 more gets next price break...16 more would save everyone a couple of bucks...c'mon, folks, just a few more days until this order goes in on Halloween...

Hindsight is always 20/20, isn't it?

All your friends will be jealous when it's -20 outside...

I watched ESPN all day while at home and while the decision to play Freeman after 12 days with the team, nobody followed up with a similar chastising of the Browns for their decision to start Jason Campbell this weekend. Granted, Campbell's been with the Browns longer, but still...

It's too late to trade AP...statistics show that RB's these days are washed up by 28 years old...the Vikings are a mess and I'm not even sure management knows where to start in terms of fixing things. Josh Freeman announced as this week's starter. Why?

One space per four seats...does anyone else think a more-likely number would be one space per two seats?
-
I agree with you on the 'implied obligation" - I don't believe in that either. However, in order to assist fans and make the game-day experience easier for some folks, one would think a shuttle wouldn't be too much trouble. I've been to several football games at Michigan Stadium and there are shuttle buses everywhere on game day - and not all of them are bar-related. If you want to be D1, then act like it. Michigan can somehow get 100,000 people into a football stadium with relative ease (Ann Arbor traffic cops are all over directing traffic and two-way streets are made into one-way streets to ease the flow - I've got to assume the cops are rented by U of M since its an event) - I don't see Michigan saying 'we provide the entertainment - how you get into the stadium is your problem and we don't care if it takes you seven hours to get out of Ann Arbor after the game is over.'

Barry Alvarez note-to-self: next time, schedule games in Boston against Harvard and Northeastern.

See also: Bulldogs, Yale.

Of the venues listed in your argument here, only one is a college facility. A more valid comparison would be Mariucci Arena, Kohl Center, or the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
-
On the flip side, should I run into any MafiaMan hats other than my own, there WILL be consequences and repercussions.

An 'outsider'?

So the parking/shuttle service has not generated enough revenue to cover the cost of the service, eh? Using that logic, shouldn't women's hockey, men's swimming, and perhaps softball, baseball, and football all be eliminated at UND?
-
I see Bob Costas finally joined the party too...
-
Next price break is at 36 hats...another one at 48. To ad-lib Pedro Cerrano...fuzzy hats keep head warm.
-
Was he really taking gruff for that? Unbelievable...

Good points. Now let's work on authorizing the destruction of about 2,000 seats, put in some more suites, add another bar or two, and set up free limo service to and from the rink for anyone who donates $5,000 or more to Sioux athletics yearly. These small-peanuts folks who come to watch Sioux hockey are killing the program - we need to wine and dine more fatcats - MORE REVENUE MUST BE GENERATED!
