  1. Anyone...anyone...Bueller...anyone?
  2. Not at a bar, but I did have that happen at a gas station/convenience store once. Had to stop there in the middle of the night when the car my friends and I were driving was dialed in on "E" on the gas gauge...in Gary, Indiana.
  3. I wasn't so much looking forward as I was backwards - regardless of who wins the cup, I think it should be awarded to the team when they clinch, regardless of WHERE they clinch. The cup will get paraded in front of the home fans at some point anyways.
  4. Regardless of what some folks here think, those conference championship banners are a nice addition to REA and I like seeing them hanging from the rafters. The trend lately (at least with the WCHA) has been to present the MacNaughton Cup to the victor at home. I thought it was a shame that when SCSU clinched their first title last year, that they were not handed the trophy on the road at Wisconsin. In fact, he trophy actually STAYED with Minnesota, who brought it with them to Bemidji, and was proudly displayed in the locker room after the Gophers clinched a share of the title. The trophy was then shipped to St Cloud, where it was presented to the team after their first-round WCHA playoff series. Kind of a**-backwards, if you ask me...
  5. http://www.twincities.com/olympics/ci_25213209/tom-powers-u-s-hockey-teams-were-embarrassing?IADID=Search-www.twincities.com-www.twincities.com Tom Powers, St Paul Pioneer Press A little tough on the women's team, I thought, but pretty accurate assessment of the men's team...
  6. The first rule of talking to Wilbur's dad is: we do not talk about the Rube years. The second rule of talking to Wilbur's dad is: WE DO NOT TALK ABOUT THE RUBE YEARS!
  7. 99% of the fun last year was introductions and Sioux story-time... Which reminds me, did I ever tell you guys about the '98 regional?
  8. Sheesh, Goon, I thought something funny was up, but, REALLY?
  9. Dang...the girls making you take them to the Justin Bieber karaoke event at the MOA on Saturday morning?
  10. Yea, gfhockey, and if I didn't throw Goon out, you'll probably be alright too, LOL.
  11. None of the afore-mentioned names could carry Rube Bjorkman's jock strap. Just ask his biggest fan, Wilbur's dad, about the glory days of yore.
  12. I don't believe for a second that you were mulling over attending...I stated before that you're more than welcome to come.
  13. What do you disagree with? The first quote was Mike Milbury...the second one was Zach Parise. I'm sorry, but laying down like a wet dog in the bronze medal game is inexcusable. And that's on Bylsma and Parise.
  14. I thought that it was her hot cocoa before bedtime?
  15. Just trade the vowel 'E' for the consonant 'W,' drive north out of Minneapolis instead of St Paul, and go Highway 36 east to Rice Street instead of 36 west. Easy peasy.
  16. Apparently he did, DaveK, but Bylsma looked like the Apple Valley Squirt C coach against Canada's coach, who evidently was Herb Brooks.
  17. Yup, yup, and yup. Watching UND dump the puck in on the PP over and over and over again that game was simply maddening.
  18. Gotta disagree on that one and agree with SIOUXELEVENS immediate reply...40 SOGs but no real grade A scoring chances. Michigan controlled the tempo of that game from the get-go...and no adjustments were made at all.
  19. It could happen to any coach...and probably has.
  20. It's still pretty damn good!
  21. I wasn't disrespecting the job he did in net...but Ryan Miller hadn't done anything to lose the job, other than playing for a crappy Buffalo Sabres team.
  22. Hasn't won a natty in 13 years! Do you not like nattys or what, gfhockey?
  23. I knew there had to be a catch!
  24. 1 for 2 today, fs4l. Still batting .500 though... No true Sioux fan will forget the Dean Blais era, at least not those with any real knowledge of UND hockey history. 1988-1994 was simply tough to watch...but it was also didficult to figure out how to say good-bye to Gino Gasparini as head coach. It had to be done though. Tom Landry...Chuck Noll...Don Schula...those guys have a lot in common with Ron Mason, Jack Parker, and Gino himself. Do people choose to remember Gino in 1993 or 1994 when they bump into him? My guess is "no," they immediately think of 1980, 1982, and 1987. Same with Dean. Those 1997 and 2000 teams will always be something special. Always.
